Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth
Chapter 15: Truly Worthy of Being a Best Actress, Her Acting is Fantastic!
CHAPTER 15: CHAPTER 15: TRULY WORTHY OF BEING A BEST ACTRESS, HER ACTING IS FANTASTIC!
While Sheng Qian’s acting skills were commendable, what intrigued everyone even more was her family background.
Sheng Qian was born into a military family. They say that at the start of her career, a director forced her to accompany him for drinks. Afterwards, that director was never seen in the industry again.
"Sorry, are you alright?"
Sheng Qian looked into Shen Xiaochen’s eyes which were nearly bursting with fury, her face full of sincerity.
She was wearing high heels, and it seemed she had accidentally twisted her ankle just now, which inadvertently caused her to spill wine on Shen Xiaochen.
Shen Xiaochen choked on his breath, recognizing Sheng Qian, and had no choice but to swallow back the curse that had reached his lips.
"It’s okay."
Shen Xiaochen glanced fiercely at Su Wanxin and Mu Suyu before heading to the restroom to tidy up his clothes.
Sheng Qian watched her leave, a flicker of amusement in her eyes, then she turned to Su Wanxin.
"Sorry, it seems I’ve accidentally drawn you some animosity."
"It’s alright." Su Wanxin smiled, preparing to leave.
"Ah!"
Sheng Qian staggered and grabbed her arm, her expression appearing extremely pained. Su Wanxin looked down and asked, "Did you twist your ankle?"
"Yes, it hurts a lot."
Sheng Qian was sweating from the pain, which didn’t seem faked as she relied on Su Wanxin’s arm to maintain balance.
"Could you please take me upstairs? My assistant and manager are there."
Su Wanxin hesitated for a moment, thinking that this girl had indirectly stood up for her just now, and there was no reason not to help with such a small favor.
So she and Mu Suyu, one on each side, supported Sheng Qian to a private room upstairs, knocked on the door, and opened it.
Then, she immediately saw the man named Fu Shihan sitting at the table.
There weren’t many people in the private room, and they were all rare faces. Several men in suits were sitting at the table playing cards, smoking, and chatting.
The moment Su Wanxin saw Fu Shihan, she subconsciously felt deceived and turned to run, although she didn’t know why she wanted to do that.
Sheng Qian, quick as lightning, caught her, her expression no longer as pained as before.
She stood upright, showing no signs of having twisted her ankle, and the strength in her grip was immense. Su Wanxin, caught in her grasp, felt like a chick seized by an eagle, completely incapable of escaping.
"Don’t be in such a hurry to leave! Now that you’re here, why not stay and chat?"
Su Wanxin was forcibly pulled into the room, her face stiff as she looked at the few ’money gods’ at the table who could make the Imperial Capital tremble with a stomp of their feet.
Fu Shihan, Lu Ci, Huo Jingfan, Zheng Chuyang.
These four had grown up together in the military commune and were all familiar to Su Wanxin.
"Brother Han, I’ve brought a friend over to chat. You don’t mind, do you?"
As Sheng Qian gazed cheerfully at Fu Shihan, Su Wanxin could not help inwardly cursing.
Damn it, no wonder she’s the Best Actress, her acting is truly remarkable.
Sheng Qian had just been in agony downstairs, eyes red and sweating profusely, yet now, Su Wanxin suspected she could perform the ’Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms’ on ten-centimeter high heels at any moment.
Fu Shihan glanced at Su Wanxin. He noted her momentary desire to run upon seeing him and felt displeased but remained silent.
It was Lu Ci and the others who, upon seeing Su Wanxin, all displayed very obvious expressions of schadenfreude, which gave Su Wanxin an uneasy feeling.
"Wanwan, come sit!"
Lu Ci, with a smile, beckoned Su Wanxin and patted the empty space next to him. He glanced at Fu Shihan unobtrusively, not expecting that he could keep such a calm demeanor.
