CHAPTER 137: CHAPTER 137: SHE KNOWS EVERYTHING (1)

The Veridian Institute of Medicine.

When Raina North entered the research lab, the pile of herbs that had clogged the corridor was already completely moved away.

Wanda Woods personally brought Aaron Warren over: "Raina, the issue you reported has been investigated. It was merely a mistake; the staff mistakenly transported the wrong herbs. I’ve already arranged for new herbs to be sent over to you. Please don’t hold a grudge against Aaron; he was misled by rumors before. I’ve asked him to apologize to you. Aaron, come over and apologize to Raina!"

Aaron had a million grievances about this, but he understood the gravity of the situation. If Raina insisted on getting to the bottom of it, he couldn’t escape the charge of negligence. If he ever hoped for a promotion, it would undoubtedly be a stumbling block.

For the sake of his future, he had to bow his head.

Aaron gritted his teeth: "I’m sorry, Raina. It was my negligence."

"Oh... so it was just negligence." Raina’s voice stretched a bit long, with sarcasm and understanding in her eyes.

Aaron’s face turned crimson.

Wanda had wanted to say something, but stopped abruptly when she saw Raina’s expression.

Raina knew everything.

She knew that bringing Aaron here was just to protect him.

Originally, Wanda didn’t see any issue, though Aaron was wrong, fundamentally it was Raina’s own indiscretions that led to this, so Aaron couldn’t completely be blamed.

Aaron responded and when he turned to leave, his gaze was icy and cold, chilling to the bone.

Raina did not miss this, and sighed quietly. If it weren’t to please her grandfather, she wouldn’t have taken the job at The Veridian Institute of Medicine; a mere institute, she never took seriously.

Wanda saw that Raina was not overly demanding and let out a sigh of relief, showing a slight smile on her face: "There’s a donation ceremony later, some important figures will be attending. If you’re interested, you can check it out."

Raina waved her hand: "No need. I’m not fond of such social gatherings."

"You should still check it out, it’s a chance to meet the colleagues at the institute, which will be helpful for future work together."

Raina knew that this invitation was not Wanda accepting her, but merely returning a favor.

Since Wanda showed such intention, Raina was not inclined to make things difficult: "In that case, thank you, Director Woods."

Wanda felt more satisfied: "As for the other team members..."

"Let them be, I already have an assistant." Turning her eyes, Raina watched excitedly as Leila commanded the movers to transport the newly arrived herbs into the small warehouse attached to the research lab.
