She Has Three Little Treasures: Fake Heiress, Yet Captures The Tycoon's Heart
Chapter 16: Face Is a Good Thing
CHAPTER 16: CHAPTER 16: FACE IS A GOOD THING
In the next second, a fashionably dressed woman rushed up to Raina North.
"I have my eyes on that dress. Why don’t you change into another?"
Raina arched an eyebrow, not even bothering to glance at the woman’s face, and coldly replied, "No."
She closed the magazine in her hand and looked at the staff.
"Where’s the checkout counter?"
Completely ignoring the person shouting in front of her from beginning to end.
Raina’s dismissive attitude provoked the other person.
"You’ve got some nerve, daring to ignore me. Do you even know who I am?"
Raina raised an eyebrow and was just about to speak when a voice interjected.
"Sister?"
Claire North walked over slowly, her brows betraying a hint of schadenfreude.
"Sister, what are you doing here?"
Seeing Claire, impatience flashed in Raina’s eyes.
"You’re Raina North?!" The woman suddenly stopped cursing, took off her sunglasses, revealing a face full of signs of cosmetic surgery, "Raina North, after doing such shameful things, you still have the face to return to Southgate."
Raina sighed inwardly and let her gaze fall on the sarcastic, mean face before her.
Rachel Shelby, Beau Shelby’s sister.
Spoiled and unreasonable, she had always been difficult when Raina was with Beau.
"At least I still have some face left."
Unlike her, shameless.
Rachel was once a pretty young girl, willful but genuine, but now her face had changed, and so had she.
"You!" Hearing the implication in her words, Rachel’s face twisted in anger.
"Sister, Rachel didn’t mean any harm. How can you use such harsh words?" Claire knitted her brows, looking at Raina with a disappointed expression, "Sister, how could you speak so harshly that it hurts others? If Mom and Dad knew you’d become like this, how heartbroken they would be."
Playing the innocent act again?
This was always Claire’s script in front of others.
But Raina was no longer the poor little girl who stayed with the North Family five years ago, nor did she have time to watch her show.
Raina brushed past them and directly told the staff, "Please, go ahead with the checkout. I’m in a rush."
Being ignored, Claire and Rachel’s faces darkened.
Especially Rachel, who rushed forward to prevent the staff from processing the payment.
"Raina North, didn’t you hear me? I said I want that dress."
Looking at Rachel’s relentless behavior, a trace of frustration flickered across Raina’s face, "Am I your mother? Just because you want it, I have to give it?"
"Rachel, Sister, both of you calm down. It’s not worth quarreling over a dress." Claire tried to mediate with an understanding look, turning towards Raina with a troubled expression, "Sister, although it’s a first-come, first-serve basis when buying things, you haven’t paid yet, so the dress isn’t yours. Besides, Onenight is an international luxury brand with its market positioning. How about this? Let Rachel have this dress, and whatever else you fancy today will be on me."
"Exactly, Raina North, look at your own status, a fake heiress squatting in a cuckoo’s nest, living off the North Family’s charity. Do you even deserve to wear Onenight’s clothes?" Rachel chimed in at the right time.
"Alright then, aside from this one, I’ll take one of every other style in the store." Raina casually pointed, ever the easygoing one.
Everyone gasped involuntarily.
Even the facade on Claire’s hypocritical face cracked a little.
Raina hooked her lips, giving Claire a mocking smile, "What’s the matter? Can’t afford it?"
Claire smiled stiffly, "Sister, is it necessary to make it difficult for others? The clothes here cumulatively are worth over ten million; not just anyone can afford that."
Raina tilted her head with a puzzled expression, "Is ten million a lot?"
"Quit pretending as if you actually have it," Rachel sneered dismissively.
"What would you do if I could afford it?" Raina had no intention of bantering with them, but the two couldn’t let her be, so she had to step in and teach them a lesson.
"If you can buy all the clothes here in one go, I’ll live-stream eating them one by one."
"Rachel..." Claire tried to stop her, but Rachel had already thrown down the challenge.
"Then you better get ready," Raina said, taking out a check she got from The Hell King Hawthorne and tossing it to the staff, "Remember to give me my change."
"Impossible! How could a bastard child kicked out by the North Family have that much money?" Rachel’s face turned unsightly, "That check must be a fake, yes, it’s fake."
Raina chuckled coldly, "Rachel Shelby, you’re the Shelby Family’s eldest daughter, at least have some dignity and don’t be a sore loser."
Rachel bit her lip, saying nothing.
"Sister, where did you get that check? Did you steal... I mean, borrow money again?" Claire’s eyes turned red with jealousy seeing Raina casually pulling out fifty million. She didn’t believe Raina could have fifty million and assumed it must have come from the Hawthorne Family.
She didn’t expect the crippled Elias Hawthorne to be so generous to Raina.
Upon hearing this, Rachel immediately puffed up with pride again, "I knew it! How could you have fifty million, you thief?"
With Claire and Rachel’s accusations flying, people’s gazes at Raina changed instantly.
"So she stole it, no wonder she’s so wealthy."
"Look at her, so out of place, like she’s from a village. Her whole appearance probably isn’t worth a hundred."
"With that kind of spending spree, poor people always flaunt when they first get rich."
...
Suddenly, there was a chorus of whispers and fingers pointing at Raina.
"Sister, let’s not hold this against you today. Just give back the check. Fifty million isn’t a small sum, and if the other party calls the police, you might be looking at jail time." Claire couldn’t conceal her glee but still put on a facade of sisterly concern.
Raina felt nauseated watching her act.
"Bad woman, stop bullying my mommy, my mommy didn’t steal any money." A little voice piped up indignantly.
Claire’s heart skipped a beat seeing Baby Hawthorne’s face.
This, this, this...
"Mommy? Raina, when did you have such a big son?" Rachel saw Baby Hawthorne suddenly appear and immediately thought of the scandal five years ago when Raina had become pregnant, "Raina, make sure you find out who the real father is this time. Don’t shamelessly let my brother take the fall like you did five years ago with that fatherless bastard."
Slap!
As soon as Rachel’s words fell, Raina gave her a hard slap.
Rachel’s head was whipped to one side as she incredulously clutched her face, "Raina, how dare you hit me?!"
"If I hear one more word from your mouth slandering my son, I’ll beat you till even your mom won’t recognize you." Hurting her son was Raina’s bottom line, and her demeanor turned instantly serious as she sneered at Claire, "And you, Claire North, do you want a slap as well?"
"Raina, don’t go too far." Claire’s face turned pale as she instinctively flinched at the sight of the five red fingerprints on Rachel’s face.
Raina sneered, "It’s been five years, and your methods are still so immature. Steal? Did any of you see me stealing?" She paused, turning to Claire, "But of course, you’re used to stealing, so you think everyone else is like you."
Stealing her test papers, her grades, her designs, her admission letters, even men were not exempt.
As Raina spoke, she flung the clothes on the table towards Rachel.
"Hurry up, I’m running out of time. So are you going to eat them yourself, or should I pry open your mouth and make you?"
