CHAPTER 20: CHAPTER 20: BECAUSE DADDY DOESN’T BEHAVE? (2)
"My granddaughter-in-law is really something special," Old Mrs. Hawthorne couldn’t help but praise.
"Grandma Zane, Grandma Rivers, what are you doing?" The sweet child-like voice mixed with the hoarseness of just waking up, as Baby Hawthorne walked over wearing the Pikachu pajamas Mommy bought today.
Faced with the pure, bright eyes of the little child, the two elderly ladies caught in the act blushed with embarrassment.
"Ahem, Young Master Summers, why are you out of bed?"
Baby Hawthorne tilted his slightly messy, fluffy black hair and lazily yawned, "I’m looking for Mommy. Grandma Rivers, did you see where Mommy went?"
"Huh? What’s that sound?"
Baby Hawthorne was speaking when he suddenly heard a noise and immediately leaned closer.
Upon hearing it, the little guy was immediately scared.
"Is it the sound of fighting?! Oh no, Mommy is being bullied by Daddy."
Baby Hawthorne said, waving his tiny pink fists, ready to rush to the door to save his mom.
Aunt Rivers saw this and quickly scooped the little rascal into her arms with a swift motion.
"My little ancestor, don’t make trouble right now."
Baby Hawthorne’s small body was lifted off the ground, desperately struggling, his little face reddening: "Let me go, let me go, I want to save Mommy, I want to save Mommy..."
"Shh, my little darling, calm down," Old Mrs. Hawthorne hurried to soothe the child, "Listen carefully, your mommy isn’t being hit, it’s your daddy."
Hearing this, Baby Hawthorne realized it wasn’t Mommy’s voice, and immediately calmed down, tilting his head and asking with innocent curiosity, "Grandma Zane, why is Mommy hitting Daddy? Is it because Daddy isn’t behaving?"
Meanwhile, the two inside the room interrupted by the "fight" also heard the little one’s voice, especially Raina North, who felt her heart wrench hearing the little one crying out to rescue her.
Getting to the door to open it, she heard the conversation just now.
Raina awkwardly glanced at Elias Hawthorne who was following closely behind. As expected, The Hell King Hawthorne’s face was as dark as coal.
"Ahem ahem, kids don’t understand, ahem ahem, don’t mind..."
The Hell King felt stifled.
Does he look like someone who would argue with a five-year-old?
Raina was glared at directly, awkwardly shifting her gaze and opened the door.
Outside, Old Mrs. Hawthorne was trying to coax away the startling remarks of Baby Hawthorne, when the door suddenly opened.
"Why did you come out? That was pretty short," Old Mrs. Hawthorne’s words never cease to surprise.
Elias Hawthorne: "..."
Raina snorted, unable to hold back.
Immediately met by The Hell King’s death glare.
"Ahem, sorry, I couldn’t hold it in," Raina quickly stopped laughing.
Baby Hawthorne saw Raina and immediately let go of Grandma Zane’s hand and jumped into Raina’s arms.
"Mommy."
Raina’s gaze softened, and she gently rubbed his fluffy little head.
"What’s wrong with our little baby?"
"Missing Mommy," the little rascal mumbled, "afraid Mommy will disappear again."
Raina felt a rush of heartache.
The little rascal looked up, his bright, pure, black grape-like eyes blinking: "Mommy, can I sleep with you?"
"Of course you can," she was finding ways to keep some distance from The Hell King, and unexpectedly the little rascal came to her aid.
Old Mrs. Hawthorne hurried forward, panicking: "Is Baby scared to sleep alone? How about Grandma Zane sleeps with you?"
"No, I want to sleep with Mommy." Baby Hawthorne firmly wrapped his little arms around Raina’s neck.
Elias Hawthorne’s face darkened, as he stepped forward, "Caden Hawthorne, don’t be stubborn, go sleep on your own."
