CHAPTER 567: CHAPTER 567: MASTER! (PART 1)
"Orion Rivers?" Elias Hawthorne’s brow furrowed involuntarily. "Didn’t he disappear?"
"That’s right," Dante Drake replied. "But a week ago, he suddenly returned to The Umbral Zone."
Elias repeated, pondering this intriguing timing: Raina had disappeared from the cruise ship exactly a week ago and left no trace whatsoever.
"Investigate." Elias’s voice was as cold and dark as the boundless night. "I want to know everything about Orion Rivers."
If his Raina’s disappearance is connected, Orion Rivers and The Celestial Alliance must be eradicated.
Dante immediately bowed and agreed, just about to leave when he suddenly remembered something.
Elias turned his gaze: "What’s the matter?"
"There’s a rumor circulating outside. They say..." Dante saw Elias’s indifferent gaze fall upon him and gritted his teeth, saying, "The Leader is the new favorite of The Celestial Alliance Leader."
"The Celestial Alliance Leader’s new favorite?" Elias’s lips curled into a bloodthirsty smile. "Is that so?"
...
Raina North didn’t stay long at the nightclub; her mood was dampened, and she couldn’t muster any enthusiasm.
Just coming out of the nightclub, the Third Elder suggested, "Let’s go to the casino and play a few rounds. That might be interesting."
Pip Finch immediately got excited, rubbing his hands together. "That’s right, the casino is a great place! Orion, let’s go have some fun; Lune must want to go."
Lune kept a cool face, ignoring this foolish comment, though he didn’t refute it either.
After all, as long as he could follow Orion, it didn’t matter where they went.
Jonah Rivers originally wanted to go as well, but he suddenly got a call, his face turning grim as he left in a hurry.
Raina noticed, looking worriedly at Jonah’s departing figure.
"Orion, Orion, let’s go, let’s go." Pip Finch shook Raina’s arm desperately.
Raina snapped back to reality, staring at Pip Finch, and suddenly said, "Seems you’ve got quite a bit of money in your account lately."
Just that one sentence was enough to quiet Pip Finch.
He hadn’t forgotten how, years ago, he played dice with Orion and ended up losing almost everything, barely saving his underwear.
If it weren’t for clinging shamelessly to Lune for meals, he would have been added to the count of starving ghosts littering the earth.
The Third Elder chuckled, "Since the Alliance Hierarch isn’t interested, we’ll go another day; it’s getting late now, better to head home early and rest."
Pip Finch was unhappy, couldn’t help but exclaim, "It was you who invited us to the casino to have fun, and it’s also you telling us to head home early. Old man, don’t think just because you’re older, I won’t dare to deal with you."
The Third Elder chuckled, "Well then, let’s practice a bit."
"Alright, let’s practice then."
Pip Finch jumped with glee; as long as there was a brawl, he didn’t care about casinos—what mattered most was brawling save him money.
To enjoy the fight fully, Pip Finch even dragged Lune along.
Raina watched the three figures walking away, unknowingly letting out a sigh of relief. Perhaps she was overthinking it, but she felt that the Third Elder’s gaze upon leaving held deeper meaning.
Raina did not return to The Celestial Alliance but drove to her villa in the northern suburbs.
Though she hadn’t been back in years, Lune often arranged for people to tidy up. Everything needed for living was regularly upgraded; she could move in anytime.
After parking the car, Raina opened the door and walked into the villa.
The day had been so damn thrilling; she felt utterly drained, raising her hand to press her temples and relieve the soreness.
