Elias Hawthorne carefully put away the silver needle, then took out a new magazine and replaced it. The one he had just removed was completely empty, not a single bullet left.

He had merely been bluffing Orion Rivers.

Just then, Dante Drake walked in, respectfully bowed, and said, "Lord, we found out who got off that yacht on the morning of the eighteenth."

The Lord of the Dark Tower’s head shot up: "Who?"

"Jonah Rivers," Dante replied. "Witnesses also saw that Jonah disembarked with a woman whose description matches the lady. I’ve had someone bring this witness to the Lord of the Dark Tower."

Before he even finished speaking, the Lord of the Dark Tower sprang to his feet: "To the Dark Tower."

After escaping from the villa, and confirming she wasn’t being tailed, Raina North finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But her mind was far from at ease.

In such a short time, she had tangled twice with the Lord of the Dark Tower. This time, she feared he wouldn’t let it go.

More troubling was that she had dragged Jonah Rivers into this to protect herself.

Thinking of this, Raina immediately called Jonah Rivers, urging that fool to be smart and not accidentally reveal her other identities.

She didn’t want issues related to The Umbral Zone dragging Southgate in, especially not her two children. If her identity were exposed, the kids would surely be in danger.

Yet the phone rang for ages with no answer.

Frowning, Raina thought how that guy hadn’t been seen since leaving the club at night, not knowing where he was off gallivanting.

Leaving a message, she pocketed her phone, got into the car, and drove back to The Celestial Alliance. Her mind was spinning over the recent reactions of the Lord of the Dark Tower, and one thing was certain: he was looking for someone.

And this person was very important to him; otherwise, he wouldn’t have stayed his hand so easily, letting her walk away alive.

Who could it be?

To make the Lord of the Dark Tower care so much.

Raina made a few more calls, instructing her people to investigate. If she could get ahead in finding out the situation, and if she held something over the Lord of the Dark Tower, he’d have to think twice even if he sought conflict in the future.

After her calls, Raina arrived at The Celestial Alliance.

She tossed the keys to the brothers at the entrance and stepped inside the building.

She hadn’t reached her office when Pip Finch popped out: "Orion, why are you wearing that outfit? Don’t tell me you went on a date with a hunk last night?"

She really had no comeback for that. Wasn’t it exactly a date with a hunk?

"Wow," Pip Finch exclaimed in awe, "I actually got it right. Orion, you really went on a date with a hunk?" He marveled, "What kind of hunk could snatch food from the jaws of Emperor Hades, the Lord of the Dark Tower, and cute little White? Is it possible that Luicy’s about to make an appearance soon?"

Though Orion was his boss, Pip couldn’t help but tease; Orion was kind of a player.

Raina couldn’t help but kick at him: "Get the hell out!"

Yelping, Pip Finch clutched his butt as he leaped up, ducking his head to dash outside.

At the door, he turned back and, seeing Raina glaring at him, quickly said, "Orion, don’t hit me yet, I have something to report."

"Speak."

"Just now, Lune sent someone to report that the First Elder, with his crew, robbed a shipment the Dark Tower was transporting. They even smashed up their branch and took over a spot in The Aethelgard Outskirts."

Upon hearing this, Raina was about to burst, gritting her teeth: "Why didn’t you report such an important matter sooner?"
