CHAPTER 73: CHAPTER 73: RAINA NORTH’S DOWNFALL (PART 1)

"Someone come!" Evelyn Xavier called out to another maid waiting outside the lounge, directive and arrogant: "Go and ask when we can go inside! Leaving us hanging here, is that the Hawthorne Family’s way of treating guests?"

The maid gently reassured her and made a phone call. When she returned, her demeanor was firm: "The Young Madam is busy. If you two have urgent matters, you may leave first. Please."

Evelyn Xavier flew into a rage, ready to burst out when Claire North grabbed her wrist: "Evelyn, have some water."

Seeing Claire North desperately signaling her, Evelyn Xavier could only suppress her anger.

Claire North breathed a sigh of relief, smiling and said very politely: "We aren’t in a hurry, please tell my sister there’s no rush to meet us."

The maid nodded slightly, swiftly turned and left.

Evelyn Xavier was annoyed again.

Claire North restrained her temper to soothe her, finally calming Evelyn Xavier down.

Another half an hour passed, and even the usually pretentious Claire North grew impatient, looking up to see Raina North leisurely walking from afar.

"Sister is here."

Evelyn Xavier snorted with resentment: "I thought she was going to keep us waiting until nightfall."

"Why would that happen? Sister always takes care of us; she wouldn’t do that. Today might be unavoidable for her. After all, it seems life isn’t easy for her either."

Claire North spoke implicitly; when her eyes settled on the cheap clothes Raina North wore, she couldn’t help but smirk a little. She originally thought Raina North had found a strong backing by marrying into the Hawthorne Family but turns out that’s not the case.

Consider this, it was dad who had Raina North substitute her in marrying into the Hawthorne Family without preparing any dowry, it’s no wonder her life isn’t good.

Evelyn Xavier blurted, "Not easy life? Seems worse than a servant’s, coming out without a car and having to walk."

She just saw it earlier, even the maid who went to report could call an electric car, yet Raina North, a Young Madam of the Hawthorne Family, was worse off than a maid.

Evelyn Xavier was very pleased, immediately took out her phone, snapping a few pictures, deciding to relish Raina North’s plight when she got back.

Sometimes, Evelyn Xavier really felt she should be grateful to Raina North for contributing so much joy to her life.

Raina North had no idea that to make medicine, she casually donned old clothes, and to let these two wait a bit longer, walked over, causing such a misunderstanding.

As soon as she entered the lounge, she sensed Claire North and Evelyn Xavier’s gaze seemed off, couldn’t help scratching her head, wondering what’s wrong with these two.

She casually found a chair and sat down: "So, what brought you here to see me? I’m busy."

Evelyn Xavier sarcastically asked: "Busy with what? Perhaps busy taking care of the kid?"

Raina North blinked: "Yes."

Finally reunited with Bobby, she wished she could have Bobby by her side all the time.

Evelyn Xavier asked maliciously: "Raina North, isn’t it tiring taking care of kids?"

"It’s manageable." Except for the two little ones often fighting for attention, everything is quite good. Adding one more child definitely isn’t just twice the welcome, but hundreds, thousands times of happiness, but this couldn’t be shared with outsiders.

Raina North’s reaction seemed to Evelyn Xavier as if she were barely holding up.

It made her feel particularly satisfied, feeling the anger from the maid’s side was completely vented. She didn’t want to miss this opportunity for some sarcastic jab, but Claire North interrupted her.
