Chapter 876: Not Alone
CHAPTER 876: CHAPTER 876: NOT ALONE
"Why?" Raina North half lay across the bar counter, tilting her head to look at the waiter.
The waiter had often heard a saying before, something about beauty as a weapon. He never understood what it meant, but now he did.
When a woman is as beautiful as this young lady, her beauty can indeed be used as a weapon. By properly harnessing it, she could make any man in this world give up everything, risk everything, for her.
The waiter’s face flushed a bit, his voice turned gentle: "Because this is the strongest liquor in the world. No matter how good someone is at holding their liquor, just one sip can leave them completely dazed. Although this is the Martial Arts Conference, you are, after all, a young, beautiful girl."
Raina was a bit surprised; she hadn’t expected the waiter to say that.
The smile on her face became much more sincere: "Thank you, but I’m not alone, you know."
Raina looked at Elias Hawthorne who walked in with Quinn Thorne, raised her hand to wave at him, the smile at her lips becoming even brighter.
From a distance, Elias watched as Raina raised the strong liquor to her lips, his brow furrowed uncontrollably.
"Beautiful lady..."
"It’s okay, I’m just tasting it." Raina lifted the glass, carefully extended her tongue to lick it, and then an indescribable fiery taste exploded on her tongue.
Her pretty face turned exceptionally red.
Raina hurriedly stuck out her tongue like a little puppy, panting and saying, "So spicy, so spicy."
It was indeed worthy of being the strongest liquor in the world; it truly packed a punch.
As Raina quickly grabbed a piece of watermelon, just about to put it into her mouth, a woman suddenly darted out.
Beside her was a decent-looking, middle-aged man in luxury clothes, anxiously apologizing to the woman, repeatedly begging.
The woman paid no attention; her expression grew even more irate.
The middle-aged man, helpless, frequently gestured at Raina.
In truth, it was indeed the strongest liquor in the world; Raina was already slightly tipsy. She blinked, looking blankly at the man: "Do I know you?"
"Your response is quite quick, and you can certainly pretend, but I’m not so easy to fool either." The woman sneered, pushed away the middle-aged man, and strode up to Raina, grabbing the drink from the bar and unhesitatingly splashing it over Raina.
The alcohol numbed Raina’s mind, making her response dull, so she didn’t manage to dodge the glass of cocktail.
The icy liquid poured over her face, slid downwards, soaking her dress, and the coldness sobered her up.
Raina raised her hand to wipe her face, glaring coldly at the woman: "You actually splashed me with drink?"
The woman was momentarily dazed by Raina’s aura, her mind blank. When she realized she’d been intimidated, her face turned extremely ugly. She pointed at Raina, angrily saying: "Why wouldn’t I dare? I splashed it right on you!"
From afar, Elias Hawthorne and Corvus Hades witnessed this scene, simultaneously bidding farewell to those around them, striding towards this direction.
Raina’s expression turned colder, her gaze fixed on the woman before her, speaking in a low, stern voice: "Explain yourself."
"Wife, stop making a scene. I’ve already admitted my mistake. I promise I’ll never make such a mistake again. I’ll just stay with you and our child and live a good life, alright?"
The middle-aged man stood in front of the woman, looking agonizingly remorseful.
The man’s words and displayed attitude conveyed a tremendous amount of information, attracting quite a few glances from those around.
