She Only Cares About Cultivation

CHAPTER 684: 【678】QUEEN OF THE APOCALYPSE 14 (3 MORE UPDATES)
In the end, she couldn’t bring herself to do it and had Reyas help send Grandpa and Grandma on their way, burying them in her own yard. After triple-kneeling and bowing nine times, she left in tears.
No matter what, the elderly were laid to rest in peace. Even though she couldn’t do anything for the original owner or save their lives, this form of release was already the best they could hope for.
Rong Hua had lost all her relatives. Before they left, they also buried the people from the Rong Family and Zhao Yun’s house, so at this moment, they deeply understood Zhu Li’s feelings.
"My family’s home is in the center of Beijing. I’m afraid I won’t be able to return in this lifetime,"
Zhao Yun’s house was in Beijing, and they had long since left that place behind. She was now focusing all her efforts on Wanwan. She wouldn’t risk taking Wanwan to such a central location, so all she could do was gaze at the distant Northern region with indebtedness and silently bless her parents and brother.
Reyas’s home was in the Central Plains, Baozi’s in Guangdong, Meng Zhonghua and Zhang Qinghai’s in Sichuan Province, Gao Huajiang’s in Shanghai, and Zhou Kai Xuan’s in the Northeast. They were truly spread from the farthest reaches of the south to the north. Apart from Zhou Kai Xuan, who was the closest, perhaps Reyas’s home was feasible to reach. But for the other four, all in the south, even if they set out, who knew when they would arrive, or if there would still be a possibility of salvation by then?
The hope that still existed was, after seeing the fate of Zhu Li’s grandparents, something every one of them was consciously or subconsciously aware of.
However, they were now aimlessly wandering this world, and even if they faced only corpses when they return, they planned to try and collect them, to give them a proper burial.
Due to the long journeys, their vehicles had developed some issues. Fortunately, Reyas and the others knew how to repair them, and they had even taken in a mechanic along the way. Thus, they had the tools needed for replacement. Of course, this wasn’t the most important thing—their village had a blacksmith shop, and they planned to modify two vehicles there, installing protective measures.
With Little White present, they could at least spend a quiet time here.
They chose to stay in a relatively large and clean house, helping the owner clean up and settling the bodies.
Since Zhu Li’s leg needed at least another two months to recover, and the vehicle modifications wouldn’t be finished in just a couple of days, everyone decided to stay at least for a month.
In a month, they could do many things, like planting vegetables and fruits in the yard, and with her Wood Element Superpower, she could stimulate growth. Although her leg was injured, she couldn’t stop cultivating her abilities. Storing enough food in the space of the two Space Superpower Users was her responsibility.
What they hadn’t anticipated was that after only three days of their stay, it started to rain fiercely, showing no signs of stopping. Thankfully, their village wasn’t surrounded by mountains; otherwise, mudslides and dammed lakes could have easily wiped them out, which would be more terrifying than zombies.
This was a small village in the Northeast, surrounded only by groves, slopes, and fields without mountains.
Though it was raining, it didn’t affect her stimulation of the plants. She was growing rice this time, and rice loves water, so it didn’t matter how much the heavens poured.
Wanwan had started learning to walk. As long as she had something to hold onto, she would try to move forward. When Zhao Yun was cooking, An Nuo would take care of her, and the two got along as if they were real siblings, which was heartwarming to see.
Rong Hua wasn’t sticking around with them much these days, spending all his time learning various combat skills from Reyas and the others. To him, Special Forces were awe-inspiring—virtually capable of anything, like fixing cars, ironing... It seemed there was nothing they couldn’t do. Being a spirited young lad, he naturally wanted to stick with the men. As for Zhu Li’s side, with Little White, the formidable zombie on guard, they were quite at ease.
Little White usually disliked sitting and preferred standing, especially near Zhu Li. No matter what she did, he watched her intently, ready to assist her at the slightest beck and call, meeting her needs swiftly. Even Zhao Yun admitted he couldn’t compare, saying Little White was more suited for taking care of the sick than any of them.
However, this only applied to Zhu Li. As for the others, well, Zhu Li had witnessed Wanwan fall and, despite Little White being nearby, he didn’t even spare a glance. It just went to show, being doted on had its perks, even if the one doing the doting wasn’t exactly normal. It was certainly better than not having it at all.
She thought of her husband, of Wanwan’s father. Just a few months ago, she and her daughter were basking in love and affection. But in just a few short months, everything turned upside down; it was undeniably heartbreaking.
The rain lasted half a month, forcing them to delay their departure. The necessity of burning charcoal for their blacksmith work was hindered by the rain, which created a significant shortage of firewood. Relying solely on the two Fire Element Superpower Users was insufficient, so they had to make do with a brief respite in the rainy weather.
Since the apocalypse began, they hadn’t truly enjoyed life as much as they had during this period. When they tasted fresh grilled corn and sweet potatoes, tears of excitement streamed down their faces.
Wanwan was around eleven months old when, in a rush to chase An Nuo, she learned to walk. Zhao Yun was overjoyed, and even Zhu Li said it was thanks to An Nuo’s influence.
Wanwan wasn’t even a year old yet, but perhaps because she had persevered and was well-fed, she could understand their commands despite not being able to speak. For instance, when asked to stay quiet, she would obediently cover her little mouth, which was simply adorable.
In fact, having such a child in the group was a source of joy, though it also made distractions during dangerous times easy.
After a month, the weather suddenly turned cold. It was as if the baptism of the rain had washed away all the grime from the earth, leaving it much cleaner, with temperatures plunging to just above zero and below ten degrees. Except for the two children, the others didn’t feel too cold, perhaps because as cultivators, their bodies had developed certain defensive abilities.
As for Little White, although he didn’t feel heat or cold, he would occasionally change clothes at Zhu Li’s behest. However, Zhu Li had never seen him bathe with them, nor knew how he maintained himself, though he certainly seemed clean.
Since the time she had fed him blood, their team had settled on giving him a bowl of blood every week. After drinking, he would heal the donor’s wound, which was a small sacrifice for them, so they were all willing to cooperate.
With the supplementation of various superpower blood, Little White’s abilities seemed to have improved significantly. Initially, everyone thought so until a month later when they hit the road again and encountered zombies, they realized they might have been a bit presumptuous...
