When Mira announced that she would stay there for a week to train Bruce, Alfina was beside herself with joy. She promptly decided to end her and her sisters’ training early that day and rushed into the palace to ensure it was suitable for their stay, all before Mira could even mention that Alfina could finish training first.

Alfina’s sisters also looked delighted to go with her, partly because of Mira’s arrival, but also because they did not have to train for the rest of the day.

After that, Mira continued teaching partial summoning to Bruce until it was dark. Being able to consistently summon only the part one desired was tricky even for someone skilled like Bruce, so he looked worn out by the time Mira announced they were done for the day and he returned to the palace.

Mira also went to the palace, lounging around in the master bedroom for some ten odd minutes before Alfina arrived.

「Master, the bath is ready.」

Alfina had the strongest sense of duty to serve Mira, so being able to do anything for Mira took priority over anything else. After the bath, Alfina was there again, saying, 「Master, the dinner table has been set,」 inviting Mira to come to the dining hall which looked ready for a banquet.

When she was done eating and leaned back to relax a bit, there was Alfina again, bringing in a tea set and asking, 「Master, would you like any sweets with your tea?」

It was clear that she wanted to be with Mira as much as possible. She continued offering massages, asking which scent Mira preferred when going to bed out of an assortment of incense, bringing a bunch of pillows in both her hands to ask which Mira liked best, and overall finding any reason she could to enter Mira’s room.

「Hmm, that’s Alfina for you, she’s attentive to every detail.」

As much as they looked like master and maid, they were still a Wiseman and a Valkyrie, so it did not take long before they began talking about fighting, leading to Alfina trying out the Holy Sword Sanctia to see how well it suited her.

「I’m humbled to be granted this honor!」

That was the same sword Christina had used before, so Alfina had been extremely curious about it, also because it came from Mira. That was why her emotions seemed to burst open now that she was allowed to hold it as well. She was all smiles as she began swinging the sword around, but her swift movements were all precise and deadly, almost like she was trying to demonstrate something.

While that happened, someone knocked on the door.

「Maasterrrr, hear me outtt!」

It was a crying voice, belonging to Christina who peeked around the door. She looked distressed, but as soon as she looked into the room, her face froze. Her attempt to seek salvation had brought her face to face with Alfina, who was happily swinging a sword.

「What’s wrong, Christina?」

Alfina stopped moving, glaring at Christina for interrupting such a joyous moment for her. Her voice was still calm, but Christina quickly shouted, 「Actually never minddd!」 and ran away as fast as she could.

「I swear, that girl…bothering our Master without reason…」

Alfina muttered under her breath, and then apologized to Mira, 「Please excuse my sister’s behavior.」

「Don’t worry, don’t worry.」

Knowing Christina, she probably wanted to bemoan Alfina’s strict training regiment or something of the sort, only to encounter Alfina herself, so it made sense that she would run away like that. Understanding that much, Mira told Alfina to not be so harsh on Christina, and instead asked how the Holy Sword felt.

「Ah, yes, this is my first time handling such a wonderful sword!」

Alfina had taken a deep liking to the sword, holding the blade up and looking at it with bedazzled eyes as she said, 「It truly feels like a Holy Sword befitting of you, Master.」

Mira then told her that Sanctia would remain summoned for a while longer, so she was free to practice with the sword as much as she wanted, prompting Alfina to rush out to the training area. The next time Mira summoned Alfina, she would probably be able to use Sanctia like an extension of her limbs.

As much as she wanted to serve Mira, Alfina was still a warrior, and being able to perform as such was her main priority.

Some time passed after Alfina left for her night-time training when someone knocked on the door again. This time it was Eletina who peeked into the room.

「Master, do you have a moment?」

She was only the second oldest, but somehow she gave the appearance of being an older sister the most. That was likely due to her gentle demeanor, the soft smile that always adorned her lips, and more importantly, the fact that she was the most well endowed of all the sisters, giving her a strong motherly vibe.

「Yes, what is it?」

She was not wearing any armor or weapons, as they were inside of the palace, making her appear even more like a dependable older sister, one that would gladly lull someone to sleep, but regardless of appearances, she was still a Valkyrie.

「There’s something I’d like to consult with you.」

She was there to talk about ways to fight.

Eletina was the most adept archer of the sisters, or even all the Valkyries. But she had a second specialty, elemental magic, which she used to imbue her weapons in battle, usually her arrows to grant them additional powers like being able to burst into flames on contact, exploding more violently, or send out shocks of lightning, as a few examples.

Due to that ability, the flashbang Magic Bomb Sealing Stone Mira had used when fighting Fuzzy Dice had left a strong impression on her, pushing her to see if she could recreate that effect with her own elemental magic. Being able to blind and deafen an enemy without the need of striking them was something she could make use of.

「I’ve conducted various experiments, but I’m having difficulties recreating that loud sound and bright light, so I’m in a bit of a stump. That’s why I’d really appreciate it if you could show me one of those Magic Bomb Sealing Stones again, just for a bit.」

Eletina knelt in front of Mira as she requested that. She was not aware of it, but there was actually a connection between elemental magic and Magic Bomb Sealing Stones. Or rather, it was by observing Eletina’s elemental magic that Danbulf developed the whole concept of Refining. So if Eletina examined the flashbang Magic Bomb Sealing Stone, she would surely be able to retrace the steps of its creation to complete her take on it.

「Hmm, sure, go ahead. You don’t have to return it, so examine it all you want.」

If Eletina succeeded, Mira would no longer need to spend her own Magic Bomb Sealing Stones for that, which would certainly come in handy later on. So Mira had no qualms on parting with one, and happily granted Eletina’s request.

「You have my gratitude, Master.」

Accepting the Magic Bomb Sealing Stone like it was an invaluable treasure, Eletina gave a respectful bow before adding, 「I’ll go study it right away, so if you’ll excuse me,」 and quickly ran out of the room.

「Despite her appearance, she hasn’t changed one bit.」

Her personality was not dissimilar from the Tower researchers, and that passion surely meant it would not take long before she succeeded, and Mira felt it was safe to account for that when planning future fights.

「Umm, Master? There’s something I’d like to ask…can I come in?」

Shortly after Eletina left, someone else came to talk to Mira. This time it was the fourth daughter, Shalwina. She looked like a bookworm girl, and she actually had a deep love for books. She also had the most diligent and calm demeanor out of all the sisters.

She looked rather timid as she entered the room, seemingly wanting to consult about something of deep importance. Noticing that, Mira calmly said, 「Yes, you can ask anything you want.」

「Thank you very much.」

Shalwina quickly knelt in front of Mira, and a moment later her usually quiet personality changed dramatically.
