She Used Me for a Dare… Now I Own Her Mother
Chapter 33: The Network
CHAPTER 33: THE NETWORK
The elevator descended in charged silence, the women still processing what they’d witnessed upstairs. Alex stood at the center, perfectly composed, but internally he was elsewhere entirely.
[Mission Complete: Seduce Every Woman at the Table]
[Reward: 5,000 CP]
Lilith’s voice purred through his consciousness, rich with satisfaction.
"Magnificent work, darling. Did you see how completely they surrendered? Especially our dear Victoria, she’s never been more beautiful than when she was claiming you as hers."
Alex’s lips curved slightly. Her words didn’t just stroke his ego... they sharpened something inside him, a predator’s awareness. The thrill wasn’t in the victory alone, but in the knowledge of what doors it had just unlocked.
"But we’re just getting started," Lilith continued, her tone shifting to strategic focus. "This fundraiser is a goldmine of opportunity. Tonight, you don’t just charm, you conquer."
The elevator chimed softly as they reached the main floor.
_____
The moment they stepped into the grand ballroom, the energy shifted. Other guests noticed immediately, the way the five powerful women orbited around Alex, the glow in their faces, the subtle possessiveness in Victoria’s posture.
Elena was the first to make her move, pressing an elegant card into Alex’s palm under the guise of a farewell handshake. "Call me," she whispered, her lips brushing his ear. "I can’t wait to get you in fully private settings... for policy discussions, of course."
Patricia followed with military efficiency, her own card exchanged during a brief embrace. "That dinner offer stands. I think we have much to... negotiate."
Diana’s touch lingered on his arm. "The foundation always needs passionate advocates. Private meeting, perhaps?"
Sarah’s diplomatic smile carried layers of meaning. "Trade agreements require detailed... consultation."
Jessica grinned boldly. "When you’re tired of playing with the grown-ups, call me. I’ll show you real fun."
Victoria watched with pride and satisfaction as her friends departed, each carrying a piece of Alex with them.
"Perfect," Lilith’s voice slipped back into Alex’s mind, smooth and calculated.
"You did splendidly with the women you’ve engaged so far, but I want you to pay special attention to Jessica."
"She’s not just about bold fun and entertainment... her family controls one of the most influential banking dynasties in the city. That kind of financial muscle is pure gold for your empire-building ambitions."
"Through her, you don’t just gain an ally, you gain access to wealth, credit lines, and a network that can move mountains in finance. Trust me, having the banking world as your own will be indispensable when you start scaling your ventures."
"Charm her, yes, but also understand her family’s legacy and leverage it. The rest will fall into place."
_____
"Alex," Victoria said, linking her arm through his with obvious pride, "there are some people I want you to meet. Building the right connections now will be invaluable for your future company."
She guided him through the crowd like a proud mentor, introducing him to senators, CEOs, and cultural icons. Her voice carried a new note, not just the careful political wife, but a woman secure in her power and her choice of companion.
"Senator Rodriguez, I’d like you to meet Alexander Hale, my protegs. Alex, Senator Rodriguez chairs the Energy Committee..."
"Mrs. Blackwell, this is the young man I mentioned. Alex has some fascinating insights on sustainable technology..."
Each introduction was strategic, calculated. Victoria was building him a network with the skill of a master politician, but Alex could sense something more... her genuine desire to see him succeed, mixed with the possessive pride of a woman showing off her prize.
"She’s playing her part beautifully," Lilith observed. "Victoria doesn’t even realize she’s helping us build your harem of power."
______
They approached a section of the ballroom that hummed with different energy entirely. Here, cameras flashed discreetly, and conversations carried the particular rhythm of entertainment industry power.
"And here," Victoria said, her voice carrying a note of reverence, "is the entertainment section."
Isabella Cross held court at the center, a woman in her forties who commanded attention simply by existing. Around her clustered A-list actresses, directors, and producers, the royal court of Hollywood power.
"Isabella," Victoria approached with careful respect, "I’d like you to meet Alexander Hale."
Isabella’s eyes assessed Alex with the shrewd gaze of someone who’d built an empire by reading people perfectly. "Mr. Hale," she said, her voice carrying subtle authority, "for Victoria to introduce you to me personally... it means you must truly be someone worth knowing."
"Target one," Lilith whispered. "The entertainment queen herself. She could make you a household name overnight, or destroy you just as easily."
"Ms. Cross," Alex replied, allowing his enhanced charm to color his voice subtly. "Your foundation’s work in environmental documentaries has been groundbreaking. I’d love to discuss some collaborative possibilities."
Isabella’s smile sharpened with interest. "I’m always open to... compelling proposals."
Around them, other entertainment figures began to take notice. Alex caught glimpses of faces he recognized from magazine covers, women who represented different facets of cultural power.
______
"Ladies and gentlemen," James Blackwood’s voice echoed through the sound system, "if you could please take your seats, we’ll begin this evening’s program."
The crowd began to settle, conversations shifting to murmurs as attention turned toward the stage. Victoria guided Alex to their table near the front, her hand possessive on his arm.
But as James took the podium and began his speech about infrastructure and progress, Victoria found herself unable to focus. Her eyes kept drifting to Alex, to the way other women in the room watched him, to the memory of how he’d felt in her arms upstairs.
What’s happening to me? she wondered, trying to force attention back to James’s words. ’I should be listening. This is important. But all I can think about is...’
Alex leaned slightly closer, his presence overwhelming her senses. The scent of his cologne, the warmth radiating from his body, the memory of his touch... it all conspired to make James’s speech fade into background noise.
"She’s completely gone," Lilith observed with amusement. "Look at her, darling. The most controlled woman in the room, and she can’t even pretend to care about anything but you."
Victoria tried again to focus on the stage, on her husband’s words about economic development and job creation. But her transformation upstairs had unlocked something she couldn’t simply lock away again. The careful, controlled political wife was gone, replaced by a woman who knew exactly what she wanted.
And what she wanted was sitting right beside her, already planning his next conquest.
James’s voice droned on, but Victoria was lost in her own thoughts, in the realization that her life had just taken a turn from which there would be no going back.
