CHAPTER 1629: EPIDEMIC? (4)
The right minister was filled with gratitude when he saw that we had cured the demi humans that were affected by the epidemic.
But then he was caught off guard when we made our request to gather all of the representatives of the different races for a meeting with the king of the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.
It seemed like he was hesitating over whether to let this happen or not.
It was at this time that I said, "Even if something happens, we have a way to combat the illness."
The expression of the right minister became complicated when he heard this before looking at the caretaker on the side. The caretaker gave a simple nod in response when he saw this.
Though the caretaker didn’t actually know what had happened inside of the warehouse, it was a fact that the demi humans that had been ill had all been cured by whatever they had done.
Since this was the case, then he wouldn’t lie about it.
After seeing this, the right minister seemed to hesitate a bit longer before slowly giving a nod.
However, there was one thing that he had to say, "If you have figured out a way to cure the illness, does that mean that you have identified what the illness is?"
Though it seemed like he asked this in a casual manner, the look in his eyes showed that it was anything but that. The way that he looked at me made it clear that this was a very important question for him.
At the same time, the rest of the demi humans who were watching from the side all looked at me with the same serious expression.
For them, this was an epidemic that had affected their kingdom and their race for a long time. So it was very important for them to figure out what it was so they could find a way to deal with it in the future.
Even if they were depending on outsiders this one time, it wasn’t as if this kind of thing was something that could be relied on. For situations like this, it was best if they knew how to deal with it themselves in the future.
However...
"It’s not something that I can talk about here. That’s why I need to meet with the representatives of all the races before we discuss this matter." I said in a serious voice.
The right minister looked at me as if he was trying to figure out if I was being serious or not.
But I just calmly looked right back at him.
In the end, the right minister gave a nod before saying, "I’ll arrange everything. Please come with me to our capital."
I gave a simple nod before heading to where the wyverns were waiting.
I didn’t have any doubt that he would take care of this since this was a matter that concerned the countless demi humans that were living in the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.
If it wasn’t this big of a deal, then they wouldn’t have asked for help from us in the first place.
...
"It’s quite the rustic place, isn’t it?"
That was an understatement.
Though the demi humans didn’t live like the giants and still tried to build houses to live in, it was clear that they didn’t have the same talents that the other races had. Though they tried to build proper buildings, at best it could only be considered a rough construct.
Even the castle that was at the very center of this capital wasn’t something that was well built.
It almost seemed like it had been thrown together by different builders and made in the shape of a castle.
In fact, there wasn’t even a proper wall that was around this capital city.
But that was more because the demi humans never really had a reason to build a wall. Unlike on the other parts of the continent, there were actually few monsters that lived here.
At the same time, the demi humans didn’t fight each other for power as they all united under the single banner of the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.
It didn’t mean that there was no conflict at all as there were coups and such. It just meant that they were far more tame than coups might be in human society, which was why there wasn’t as big of a need for defenses like walls.
But that wasn’t the most important thing right now.
I looked around to see that there were airships and wyverns that were coming from different directions.
There were three groups that had been sent to the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.
One was the group that I led which was the vanguard into the Mofu Mofu Kingdom who had arrived on wyverns.
The second group was the group that came from the sea, but they didn’t come in a conventional way. They came with the help of the Merman Empire and the sea witches, which meant that they came faster than the third group.
The third group was the group that came with ships that carried the most goods.
Even if wyverns were faster, it wasn’t as if they could carry as much goods as large ships that were designed for it.
That was why most of the goods were sent by ships since it was the safest way to transport them.
But since I had requested that all of the representatives from the different races attend, that was why the wyverns and airships brought them all here. They came from different directions because there were different routes through the lands of the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.
We had gone out of our way to stop at another spot at the request of the right minister.
It was to pick up the left minister of the Mofu Mofu Kingdom for the meeting.
Since it was a meeting of all the races, then it was necessary for the left minister to be there as well.
Once we arrived, it didn’t take long for us all to be gathered around a table in the Mofu Mofu Kingdom’s royal palace.
