CHAPTER 1642: SUDDEN CHANGE (1)

With the efficiency of the right minister, there were reports from all over the Mofu Mofu Kingdom that the evacuation of the areas near these targets were happening.

During this time, we didn’t actually go to any of these target areas to take care of the arrays.

I sent a few people and they did find these arrays based on the information that I provided, but they didn’t actually do anything to these arrays. After all, there was no telling what would happen if they actually did anything to them.

At the same time, if something were to happen to the arrays, there was no telling what kind of response the ones behind the arrays would have.

We had no idea what the arrays were and so far, we had only seen them defend themselves.

But if the arrays were to activate...

Well, there was no telling what would happen.

We only knew that there must have been a reason why they had set up all these arrays in the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.

Well, other than the fact that the Mofu Mofu Kingdom was isolated from the rest of the continent and the other races.

This just meant that they were able to do what they needed to do without anyone noticing them.

But I did have to wonder when the forces of Destruction came to lay down these arrays in the Mofu Mofu Kingdom and how they had done it.

Once the areas where the arrays were had all been evacuated, that was when the real question had to be asked.

"What do we do now?" The right minister asked in a serious tone.

After all, this wasn’t a permanent solution since those were the homes of these demi humans. Leaving the arrays there was like leaving ticking time bombs that would eventually blow up.

At the same time, it wasn’t as if those demi humans would just accept being displaced from their homes forever.

Not to mention that it was all territory of the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.

They naturally were not willing to abandon their own territory like this.

But to be honest...

"I don’t know." I said while shaking my head.

From the experiments that I had run on the arrays, it seemed like we could seal them off by making use of divine energy. Divine energy was enough to negate the corruption energy that was inside of the metal, but it didn’t seem like that was enough to completely purify it.

It was as if there was something that was deep inside of the metal that kept generating more corruption energy, even if we purified it with divine energy.

So in the end, it really wasn’t as if there was a way to deal with these arrays.

I had all of the different races send experts over to see what this array was, but none of them had been able to figure it out. Even the dwarven experts that had been sent weren’t able to figure out what the metal was, even though the dwarves should have been the top experts when it came to matters related to metal.

That was why all of us were helpless when it came to these arrays.

King Kashou and his ministers looked at me with grim looks on their faces.

I knew why they were looking at me like this and I certainly didn’t blame them.

It was already a lot for them not to do anything while we studied these arrays since these arrays were ticking time bombs for the Mofu Mofu Kingdom. Leaving them like this was just putting their people at risk, but they didn’t say anything since they knew that it was for the greater good that we investigated these arrays.

But there was only so much that they could accept.

So in the end, King Kashou said, "It’s time to seal them off. I know that this might be bad, but we have to do this since we have no other way of dealing with them."

The two ministers nodded in agreement to his words.

It was clear that they had put a lot of thought into this decision and I knew that it wouldn’t have been easy for them to come to this decision.

So in the end, I didn’t argue with them as I brought a group of priests from the Holy Empire to one of the closer arrays to seal it off.

The researchers from the different races also didn’t say anything, but it was clear by the way that they started rushing that they knew that they didn’t have time to waste. They wanted to study the remaining arrays before they were all completely sealed off.

King Kashou and his ministers came with us to seal off this first array since he wanted to watch as the arrays were sealed.

It seemed that there was a part of them that were hoping that this would be more than just a temporary solution.

But I knew that this was indeed just temporary since the seals weren’t actually getting rid of the corruption energy inside of the metal that made up the array.

When we arrived, we saw the array that had been dug up out of the ground.

It hadn’t been moved since we knew that the same thing would have happened where it would have spawned those strange creatures to defend itself. However, it certainly was daunting seeing the array out in the open like this.

After landing I had Joan fly above the array, prepared to release her flame breath at any moment just in case something happened.

Then I pulled out the Staff of Earth and pointed the tip of it to the ground before closing my eyes.

As I closed my eyes, the earth around me started to move.

It didn’t take long before the entire array was suddenly covered in the divine energy earth. I made sure to do it all at once just to ensure that it would be completely sealed off before it could do anything.

But then I suddenly knitted my brows.
