CHAPTER 1817: MUCH MORE THAN EXPECTED

There wasn’t much that was reported back when the reports first came in.

This wasn’t strange since it wasn’t as if there would be anything to report in those places.

The Feather Race’s village was on the highest peak, but it wasn’t as if there was nothing around this highest peak.

Even if the land on the highest peak wasn’t settled, that didn’t mean that there weren’t those that settled near this land. There were two small human kingdoms that split the area around the highest peak.

Since they were small human kingdoms, it wasn’t as if they were on the target list for the forces of Destruction.

That was why there weren’t any traces of corruption energy in these kingdoms.

But once the Feather Race moved away from these two small countries, the result was different.

"When was there corruption energy hiding in my country?"

Since this was something that was done by all of the countries of the racial alliance working together, it was only natural that they would receive reports on this matter.

The ones that had corruption energy discovered in their countries just couldn’t believe that this was the case. At the same time, it was clear that they had no idea that there even was this corruption energy.

If it wasn’t for others acting on the reports that the Feather Race sent back, then this corruption energy might have eventually become a problem.

But since we had discovered it, it wasn’t as if we could allow it to continue to grow.

As more and more countries were being searched, there were more and more reports of corruption energy being found.

It didn’t seem like the forces of Destruction bothered targeting those that were considered small kingdoms. But when it came to medium sized kingdoms, that was when they struck.

It seemed that as long as a kingdom reached a certain size, they would be targeted by the forces of Destruction.

In a strange way, this was an honour.

After all, their kingdoms had been deemed big enough that they posed a threat and were targeted. But of course, it wasn’t as if they were happy to be targeted by the forces of Destruction like this.

No one wanted to be targeted by the forces of Destruction after all.

So that was why they were relieved to hear that the corruption energy had been cleared out.

Normally it would be against border laws to send people in like this, but this was a special case. Corruption energy had to be dealt with before it could turn into something much more dangerous.

That was why there was no time to waste and we had to send people right away.

But as more and more of these reports came in, I couldn’t help looking at the map that we had marked and knitted my brows. This was a map of the continent that recorded all of the places that the Feather Race found the corruption energy.

Though it didn’t seem like there was a pattern to the corruption energy, the one thing that was clear was that the forces of Destruction didn’t hold back. They spread their corruption energy to all these different countries and were just biding their time.

It was clear that the forces of Destruction had been planning something quite big with how much corruption energy was found.

But the main problem was, "How did they prepare all this corruption energy and spread it without any of us noticing?"

Since we had already resolved ourselves to fight the forces of Destruction, we had naturally prepared many ways to detect corruption energy. Just like how we had prepared many different ways to deal with corruption energy.

Even so, the corruption energy spread to our lands.

With the way that it spread...it really seemed like there was something on the inside that was causing this.

Naturally I wasn’t the only one that thought of this. If I could think of this, it was only natural that the others would be able to think of this as well.

That was why there were some wary looks that were cast between the different members of the racial alliance.

Seeing this, I said, "We shouldn’t doubt each other at this point without any proper evidence. We don’t know all of the methods that the forces of Destruction have on their side, so it could be something like that that allowed them to sneak this corruption energy in."

Though it seemed like they had some doubts, they chose to believe me in the end since they knew that I was right.

Before we had evidence, it was just too dangerous to actually assume these things.

Still, it was best that we kept an eye out since there had been just too much corruption energy.

This really was something that had been quite dangerous to us.

"Could it be that the former president didn’t tell us everything? Perhaps he gave them much more information that we knew about." I couldn’t help muttering to myself in the end.

However, there was no time to think about this as there was another report that suddenly came in.

This time, it was something that seemed quite substantial.

"There’s this strange swirl of corruption energy in the middle of this random forest?" I said with a confused voice as I read this report.

Though I didn’t really understand what this report was, my instincts told me that there was something strange about all of this. It seemed that there was something off about the forest that this strange swirl of corruption energy was found.

"It is something that’s worth checking out." I said to the other representatives from the racial alliance.

Though it seemed like they had their doubts, they actually held those doubts back in the end.

They all agreed that we should send a team to investigate this place.

That was the trust that they had in me even though they had their doubts about this place.

So it didn’t take long before a team was arranged.
