?Chapter 371:

Enzo’s POV

Ryder had invited me to the pack to help sort out the Silverw issues and deal with the elders, which wasn’t unusual given the political mess that always seemed to crop up when two packs tried to merge. I wasn’t thrilled about dealing with the elders—those rigid, tradition-bound fossils could test anyone’s patience—but I was looking forward to seeing my sister, Jasmine.

Jasmine.

Even thinking her name made me smile. The bond we were building after years of separation was something I never thought I’d get, and every chance to spend time with her felt like a gift. After what she’d endured—what those bastards had put her through—seeing her thrive gave me a sense of pride I didn’t even know I was capable of.

I arrived at the packhouse mid-morning, dressed casually in my usual leather jacket and ck jeans. It wasn’t exactly formal attire, but I’d long since stopped caring about appearances when it came to pack matters. I was here to handle business, not impress anyone.

Still, as I walked into the packhouse, there was a faint sense of anticipation in the air, like something significant was about to happen. My wolf, Zade, was unusually restless, pacing in the back of my mind like he was waiting for something.

“Chill out,” I muttered under my breath.

“You’ll see soon enough,” Zade huffed back, cryptic as always.

After a quick greeting with Ryder, who seemed more tense than usual, I excused myself to take a call from one of the Silverw alphas. By the time I finished the conversation, I was annoyed and ready to punch something—politics always had that effect on me.

“Sorry,” I said as I walked back into the room, holding up my phone. “Had to take a call. What’d I miss?”

That’s when it happened.

The moment I stepped into the room, my eyes locked onto hers.

She was standing near Jasmine, her blonde hair falling in soft waves around her face, her posture stiff with tension. Her amber eyes, wide with shock, seemed to pierce straight through me, and for a moment, the world around us disappeared.

Mate.

The word exploded in my mind, and Zade practically roared with triumph.

“There she is!” he growled, his voice filled with possessive joy.

My heart mmed against my ribcage as the realization hit me like a freight train. She was my mate.

Isabelle.

Of course I knew her—Ryder’s alleged Luna.

The name came unbidden to my lips, though I didn’t speak it out loud. I had heard enough about her to recognize her instantly. The woman who had once plotted against my sister. The woman who had caused Jasmine pain.

And yet, standing here now, staring into her eyes, none of that seemed to matter.

“Mate,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.

The sound sent a jolt through me, and I repeated the word, my voice rough with disbelief. “Mate.”
