?Chapter 89:

His honesty threw me off bnce. For the first time, I saw him—not the Alpha, not the domineering Lycan, but Ryder. The man beneath all that power. The man who stole my heart from day one.

“Ryder…” I whispered, my heart softening despite myself. The look in his eyes made it impossible to hold onto my anger. But this felt too good to be real.

I stood frozen, my breath caught in my throat as soon as I heard those words. Ryder’s words were going to live rent-free in my mind. I meant something to him? No, that wasn’t exactly what he said, but… his words wereced with possession, a im on me—like I was an object he already fucking owned.

“My desire for you knows no bounds. You’re like an addiction I never want to quit,” Ryder whispered, his voice a low growl. His thumb parted my trembling lips as his eyes burned with a hunger that made me weak.

My anger, hot and fierce, melted away like moltenva, leaving behind something else—a twisted mix of confusion, curiosity, and a hint of fear. Damn him.

“What the fuck does that even mean?” I managed to ask, my voice barely a whisper. Our eyes locked, the room was quiet, enough for a pin dropping to the floor to be heard.

Ryder’s gaze never wavered. “It means you’re mine. Every fucking part of you.”

Mine. That word again. This time, it crawled under my skin, prickling at me. Damn it, calling me his wasn’t enough. You could own something and still destroy it.

“You can’t just fucking im me,” I snapped, my protest weak, even to my own ears.

Ryder’s lips curled into a smirk, his eyes glinting with amusement. “I already have, baby. Deal with it.”

The conviction in his voice was unsettling, like he truly believed he had that right over me.

“Ryder,” I started, trying to pull away from him.

“No, Jasmine,” he interrupted, his tone dark and slightly angry. “You need to understand. I won’t let anyone else have you.” His possessiveness was suffocating.

“Is that love?” I asked hopefully. Shit, I probably shouldn’t have asked. Ryder’s eyes shed, the intensity of his gaze eating me up like wildfire.

“It’s an addiction, baby vixen.”

As I searched his face, I saw something there—something raw, primal. The type of animalistic desire that made my legs grow warm with passionate heat. Damn, why did I want him to crash his lips into mine and draw me into a deep kiss?

“Ryder,” I whispered.

“Jasmine,” he replied.

Our voices hung in the air, heavy with tension.

Suddenly, Ryder’s lips crashed onto mine. The world around me melted away. Ryder’s lips seared mine; nibbling, biting, and tugging on my lower lip as his tongue snaked around my mouth. It felt like a million fireworks went off in my head, but I refused to be swayed.

You can’t keep letting him get his way. Get a grip on yourself, Jasmine.

I pushed him away, my palms against his chest.

“No.” My voice was loud and hoarse, the wordsing out cracked and squeaky.

Ryder’s eyes narrowed, his breathing ragged. He barely moved an inch when I pushed him away a second time. Hell, his lips were barely a few breaths away from my face.

“Jasmine,” his voice was soft, lulling me like a sweet dream.

“Don’t think your Lycan charm will work on me,” I spat and shook my head.

“That’s not what this is.”
