?Chapter 92:

“You still haven’t told me where my date is,” I folded my arms across my chest as I tipped my chin in the air.

Ryder chuckled. “It’ll ruin the surprise. Be patient, little vixen.”

As we drove through the night, the air swirling around us, I couldn’t help but steal nces at him. His profile was chiseled, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.

“Where are we going?” I asked, trying to sound nonchnt. I knew I wasn’t supposed to ask, but I was still curious. As usual, he had picked my outfit, but I was clueless about our destination.

“A private dinner at the Silver Oak, but that’s not all,” he replied, his eyes flicking to mine. “I thought you’d enjoy the view.”

The restaurant was perched atop a hill, overlooking the glittering city lights. We were shown to a secluded table, and as we sat down, I felt his leg brush against mine.

“So, tell me,” he said slowly before leaning forward, his voice low and husky, “what do you like to do for fun?”

Iunched into a lively tale of my favorite hobbies, trying to keep my mind off the sparks flying between us, the way he looked at me like he wanted to rip off my…

I felt helpless against the tide of attraction between us. It didn’t help that I was seeing a whole new, different version of him. As we finished our dessert, he leaned in, his breath whispering against my ear.

“Are you ready for your surprise?” he whispered.

“I thought this was the surprise,” I said, my brows arching questioningly.

Seraphina’s words echoed in my mind: “He’s never taken anyone out… You’re special.” Was it really true? Did he truly feel something for me? I met his gaze, my eyes locking with his blue ones. For a moment, the world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, suspended in a sea of possibility.

“You weren’t listening to me then. That’s one punishment for you.” His eyes darkened, and I recognized that animalistic wildness beneath them—an aftermath of postponed lust.

The night air seemed to dance with the energy between us as he smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

No way was I kidding on this.

I leaned forward, my lower lip puckering as I fluttered myshes seductively.

“And how do you n on doing that?” I teased, but I didn’t miss the sh in his eyes. My lips parted when I felt his hands press against my thighs.

“Once I start with you, you won’t be this smart-mouthed again.”

I gulped hard. An all-too-familiar sensation made my body grow warm, and I pressed my thighs together.

Jasmine’s POV

A loud, bubblyugh escaped my throat as Ryder spun me around the ice rink. His hands held mine in a firm yet gentle grip, and the wind whipped my hair against my face. Who would have thought that Ryder was a skating enthusiast?

As we glided across the ice, the cool breeze rushing through my hair, I caught glimpses of Ryder’s boyish grin. It was infectious—one that made me warm up to him on the spot—and I found myself smiling back at him. If only he could always be like this.

“I never would have pegged you as a skater. Why do I have a feeling this is just one of your hidden talents, Alpha?” I said, trying to sound breathless but not quite seeding.

Ryder chuckled, and with a swift tug, I was by his side. “There’s a lot you don’t know about me, Jasmine.”

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Yeah, like how you deluded me into thinking it was going to be dinner, but here we are.”
