385  384: Abomination

As Corey flew through the walls of the temple, a few inches in front of him was a being that could not be classified as a monster or a beast.

The being represented something that could only be found in Nightmares... It was an abomination, and Corey found himself getting disgusted by its appearance.

The abomination had the head and antennae of a locust, and the body of a wolf. However, its body was vastly different from that of a wolf.

Instead of having four legs, the abomination had multiple legs, Corey counted twenty legs. These legs resembled that of a human. Some of the legs were muscular, while some were thin and looked sickly. On the abomination''s body were multiple eyes, in Corey''s Eyes of Omniscience, he counted thirty eyes. The eyes had black scleras with red pupils, and each eye emitted an unfathomable amount of rage. It also had two black locust wings on its back.

The abomination''s fur was pure black with stripes of red at the side, and it also had two scorpion tales.

As Corey flew out of the temple with the abomination mere inches from him, it suddenly opened its mouth, and he saw its mandibles enlarge, effectively closing the distance between them.

Corey''s eyes widened slightly, and without hesitation, he instantly teleported to the side.

    SNAP!

A loud snapping sound resounded in his ears, and Corey frowned as he saw the abomination struggle to stop its movement.

Before the abomination was able to get itself, Corey quickly looked at the floor.

Although he already knew what was around him due to his Eyes of Omniscience, he still felt like he needed to look around to make sure he was seeing right.

To his slight surprise and disbelief, he realized that the temple was at the top of a mountain, and he was currently close to the edge of the mountain.

As for the abomination, due to it not being able to stop its movement, it had fallen off the mountain. However, he was sure that the abomination was not dead since he saw wings on the back of the abomination.

Knowing he didn''t have much time till the abomination got back, he quickly teleported away from the edge of the mountain. He then reached into his inventory, something which he rarely did, and then he brought out the weapon that had been given to every participant.

He saw a silver metallic axe with blue engravings and runes on it, and when Corey saw this, he frowned.

''It''s a red grade weapon... A red grade weapon would not even be able to make a cut on the body of that abomination.''

Corey thought with a tinge of annoyance in his eyes as he stared at the axe in his hands.

A red grade weapon was the lowest and weakest grade of weapons, and red grade weapons were meant to be used on tier 0, tier 1s, and maybe tier 2s. Not on an abomination that had the strength of a tier 4.

''No, that abomination is almost as strong as a tier 5. It''s like a peak tier 4.''

    Clang! Bang! Boom! Clang!

Countless sounds resounded as Corey swung his axe at the energy beams.

His arms became a blur, and the ground around him cracked, broke, and got sliced apart as he swung his arms at a speed that was not meant to be possible for a tier 2.

At some point, he just started swinging his arms without thinking. The only thing that was in his eyes and main consciousness were the weak points in the energy beams of the abomination.

He was in a state that he had achieved once in the past- The Zone, and his actions had caused an uproar among those who took notice of him. Especially those of the Martial Clan.

His silver axe was weak, and he had a feeling that the axe would shatter if he tried to infuse his dreamfire into his axe for a long time.

In fact, the axe was barely holding on as he struck at the energy beams of the abomination. And this was even though he had covered the entire weapon with his axe intent, an ability that could strengthen axes and axe skills.

Although it was slightly annoying to him that he had to make sure that the axe did not shatter in his hands, he was still grateful that it was able to last as long as it did.

An unknown amount of time later, the abomination stopped shooting out energy beams, and Corey paused.

The mountaintop was now covered by a large amount of smoke and dust however, neither one of them was affected by this. They could see each other clearly.

Corey exhaled slightly when he saw that the abomination was watching him and not attacking him. He was sure that the abomination was surprised that he had survived its attack.

Its attack was not meant to be survived by a tier 2, and even for some tier 4s. However, Corey had not only survived, he had destroyed every energy beam he struck. It almost seemed like Corey knew the weak points of its energy beams.

It was extremely strange to the abomination... and annoying. Because of Corey''s refusal to die, it now had to regenerate its energy.

While the abomination was having its own thoughts, Corey was having completely different thoughts.

He looked at his left forearm, and then he stared at the abomination with a deep frown.

He had just found out that his Eyes of Omniscience was not able to completely see through the abomination.

So, it''s official. I would be going on service on the 28th.

From tomorrow, I would most likely not be able to upload chapters.

I''ll try to finish this fight before I leave since I don''t want to come back after a month or so, and the first chapter I have to write is a fight.
