CHAPTER 862: 859: GOING THROUGH MEMORIES(1)

Corey was a little bit surprised when he saw that Zeke was not only alive but conscious, unlike Rhys, Aelric, Yara, and Myra.

Only Kieran and Zeke were conscious, and once again, Corey was baffled as to how Zeke was conscious.

If he saw Zeke’s corpse, he would not be surprised because Zeke was a Tier 3.

The shockwaves and remnant energies that exploded from the clash between him and Eidolon was immense, and it was more than enough to cause injuries to an average Tier 5.

So for a Tier 3 to survive and be conscious while his allies were not?

It was a surprise.

Another thing that surprised him was the fact that the only severe injury Zeke had was a missing arm.

Aelric, Myra, Yara, and Rhys had more severe injuries.

But Zeke only had a severe injury?

It was suspicious.

’Because my entire attention was on Eidolon, I couldn’t observe the Thirteenth Dawn while I was fighting.’

’If I had, I would have seen how he survived.’

’... Or maybe it was luck? But I doubt that.’

’He’s not a Blessed, and I don’t sense the aura of luck on him. That doesn’t mean he’s unlucky, but luck is also not on his side.’

’... Well, it could also be luck since one does not need to have karmic luck to be lucky.’

Corey furrowed his brows slightly in thought, and then he took a step forward.

He appeared in the midst of the group, but none of them reacted to his appearance.

He expected this because he was using Infinite Mirage to prevent himself from being seen, and he was also using Breath of Omniscience to hide his presence.

If anyone of them had been able to notice him in the slightest, he would have been shocked.

His gaze shifted from one member of the Thirteenth Dawn before finally landing on everybody.

He exhaled softly, and then a white mist was slowly released from his body.

This white mist was poison, but it was a poison that could put Tier 4s into a deep sleep.

Due to Infinite Mirage which could affect the five senses at Corey’s current proficiency level, none of the Thirteenth Dawn was able to notice the presence of the sleeping poison.

Thirty seconds later, Kieran,Zeke, Myra, Yara, Aelric, and Rhys were put into a deep sleep.

Although Myra, Yara, Aelric, and Rhys were unconscious, Corey could not take the risk and have them finding out that he was here.

He observed their states, and when he saw that they were truly asleep, he approached them one by one.

He placed his hand on Kieran’s head, and then he used Cognitum Erasure to go through his memories and see what he saw and went through after the appearance of Eidolon.

What he saw was as expected.

He saw the Thirteenth Dawn panicking as they ran from Eidolon. He saw Kieran screaming out orders for them to retreat as fast as possible.

He saw as the Thirteenth Dawn used all they had to escape. He saw as they flew while exhausting immense amounts of their mystic mana. And he also saw as the pressure Eidolon released blew down on the group like a massive mountain, and how it affected their retreat.

While he was battling Eidolon, Kieran had managed to conjure a powerful defense barrier that could block the attack of an early-stage Tier 5.

But it only lasted for a few seconds before being torn apart like paper by the shockwaves and remnant energies of their attacks.

Corey saw that Kieran’s instincts were sharp as he expertly dodged some remnant attacks and rubbles that flew in their direction.

He saw how Kieran moved to protect Myra from the sudden appearance of one of the broken spines of Eidolon. The spine would have killed her, but he had saved her.

However, it came at a cost. He overused his mana.

But despite all of these, Kieran’s thoughts were consumed by one thing: survival.

And Corey nodded his head when he found what he was looking for.

Kieran did not see him, and he did not see what he did.

’Good.’

He withdrew from Kieran’s mind, then moved to Rhys.

Rhys’ memories were messy. It was a memory of blood and fury.

He was blind, so Corey actually struggled for a few moments to understand what he was seeing.

He had never tried to go through the memories of a blind man, however, he got the hang of it.

Normally, he would not have seen anything. But with Rhys’ learning the skill, Mana Sense, Corey was able to see what Rhys saw through Mana Sense.

One of Eidolon’s clones had been flung in their direction. The clone was badly damaged, and it was far from its full strength, but it was a Tier 5 nevertheless.

Despite his lack of sight, Rhys still tried to fight. He attempted to charge at the clone, but a swing of the clone’s appendages threw Rhys into a building made out of glass, causing him to have severe injuries on his back and also causing some of his bones to shatter.

His memories blurred after that.

But all that mattered to Corey was that he had not seen him.

Corey nodded to himself, then moved on.

Yara.

He placed his right hand on her head, and a few seconds later, he removed his hand and shook his head.

Her memories were fractured, and he had expected it.

The monster of the Second Night which posed as her sister had caused damages to her mind.

He had eradicated the energy that was damaging her mind, but he did not heal it.

Trying to go through her mind was like trying to go through a world of shattered glass that showed fragmented scenes.

’If she’s able to naturally overcome her current state, she’ll gain a massive boost to her mental capabilities.’

’But it looks like that’s not going to happen. Her mental health is getting worse, and she’s falling deeper and deeper into depression.’

’.... She’s weak.’

Although Corey could have healed her mind to the point where she would be better, he chose not to.

All that mattered to him was that she never saw him battling Eidolon.

As for how she got unconscious, a shockwave had sent her flying and she broke her leg in the process.

Next,

Myra.
