Chapter 199: You’re Outmatched
CHAPTER 199: CHAPTER 199: YOU’RE OUTMATCHED
"I can’t believe this is happening again. Trouble certainly seems to follow you, doesn’t it?" Isla sighed in exasperation.
"I mean, don’t blame me, it’s not like I wanted this to happen. I’ve never even spoken to him before, and he was hostile to me pretty much right from the get-go. Can’t blame me for refusing to take that lying down," I replied with a shrug, as I fastened my gauntlets.
"Yeah, he was being a real creep to us, talking to us in such a sleazy way. The only one he spoke to with any semblance of respect was Sera.
That’s when Kai showed up and told him to leave, but he was rude and kept refusing to leave and escalated the situation, which led to this," Explained Aria, an annoyed look on her face.
It was a few minutes later, and I was currently in one of the locker rooms of the Guild’s arena, getting ready for the duel.
"Unbelievable, I’ll issue a complaint to Jorin, this is unacceptable," Muttered Isla with a huff.
"Cool, sounds good, you do that. For right now, though, I’m gonna go kick that guy’s ass," I remarked, before heading for the door.
"Good luck, Kai, make him regret ever being born!" Called out Aria.
"Yup, that’s the plan," I replied as I glanced back at her with a smile.
I then walked out of the locker room, heading towards the arena. Looks like my opponent’s ready too, he’s approaching from the other side.
Hey, Ai, let’s update his profile in Appraisal, his stats might have improved.
"Appraisal."
It seems he hasn’t improved at all, his stats are the same as they were during the tournament
Well, bring up his details anyway, I don’t remember his stats or abilities.
Yes, of course you don’t
Hey, come on.
Here you go

Hm, his stats are higher than mine...come to think of it, Aria couldn’t beat him without using Blaze Ignition.
What should I go with? Enrage or Arouse? Or maybe I could let Luxuria deal with him instead?
No, if I don’t fight him myself, he’ll probably just make excuses and say that I didn’t win fairly or something. In which case, I’ll just have to beat him myself, and as comprehensively as possible.
Alright, Enrage it is, then.
"This should be fun. Once I humiliate you, the chicks in this place will be goin’ crazy for me," He remarked with a smirk, as we stepped onto the arena.
Looks like he’s borrowed some gear and weapons from the Guild, a set of dark brown leather armor and a pair of short-swords.
"You realize that people aren’t that simple, right? Even if did defeat me, it won’t change the fact that you’re a dick, they aren’t suddenly going to find you attractive," I responded dryly.
"Hah, say that to my body count, girls can’t get enough of me," He replied smugly.
"I am curious though, how come Sera was the only one you weren’t being a creep to?"
"Huh? The hell kind of question is that? She’s my buddy’s sis, going after her would violate the bro code, what kind of asshole do you take me For?
Of course, I get totally get her if I wanted to, but I just choose not to," He stated, looking pretty proud of himself.
He really believes everything he’s saying, my lie detection isn’t going off in the slightest.
"Okay, you’re a lost cause," I sighed in exasperation, as the barrier formed around the arena, the countdown beginning.
He smirked as it ticked down, his hands hovering over the handles of his blades. I shifted my right hand back, by the handle of my own blade, as the countdown neared its end.
"Time to get fucked, you little shit!" He exclaimed, drawing out his blades and racing forward as the countdown ended.
He’s fast.
"Enrage," I chanted, his eyes widening before he came to an abrupt halt as a fierce burst of purple energy erupted around me, swirling intensely before mellowing and flowing steadily around me.
A sense of calm washed over me, as he came to an abrupt halt, backing away as he eyed me warily.
Now, then...
The most effective way to resolve this matter is to defeat him emphatically, to leave no room for any excuses.
To put it simply, I need to inflict a significant amount of pain.
"What’s the matter? Are you afraid?" I inquired coldly, as I took a step towards him.
"Huh? Don’t get cocky!" He snapped, before chanting as he shot towards me, "[Double Lightning Slash]!"
Lightning burst out and wrapped around his blades, before he leapt forward as he closed in, swinging his left blade across at my head.
I swiftly raised Desecrator up defensively, a sharp clang ringing out as I blocked his slash with my blade, cracks spreading out across his blade around the point of impact.
I then drove my left hand out and grabbed his right forearm before he could strike with his other blade.
He flinched as I met his gaze, his face turning pale, before I chanted...
"Mana Pulse."
He let out an agonized yell of pain as his right arm spasmed violently, blood spraying out as several spots across his skin tore and ruptured, a sharp clatter ringing out as he dropped his blade.
I swiftly slip my foot across, kicking his blade away, before letting go of him and swinging Desecrator across.
He sprang back in alarm, a stifled cry ringing out as the tip of my blade pierced through his armor and cut into the left side of his chest, before dragging down diagonally across his torso.
Several trickles of blood oozed out and ran down his armor as he shakily backed away and got some distance.
His right arm was slumped to his side, trembling in pain and covered in blood, which dripped onto the floor off his fingertips.
Hm, his movements, it’s as if he’s rusty.
They’re a bit sloppy and unrefined, he seemed to be moving better during the tournament. I probably could’ve beaten him with relative ease even in my base state.
And now that his right arm is effectively out of commission, this won’t even be a challenge.
"Will you give up now? You must have realized by now that you’re outmatched."
"D-Damn, you...! I’m not done yet! [Stealth]!" He snarled, vanishing from sight...
