Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons
Chapter 138: Butcher and Undead Knight.
CHAPTER 138: CHAPTER 138: BUTCHER AND UNDEAD KNIGHT.
Under the night sky of the vast cemetery.
A white cloud was drifting above Kane and his team.
Kane stood on top of Cotton Candy, using Eagle Eye to scout the surroundings.
From time to time, he could spot signs of battle in the distance, confirming that they were indeed in the same dungeon as other exploration teams.
Not far ahead, Kane finally discovered a group of dungeon monsters with extremely strong magic power reactions, hiding inside a shabby wooden house.
However, such a simple hiding technique was useless against Kane.
After returning to the team, he reported his observations to everyone.
They stealthily approached the location.
"There’s a group of elite monsters hiding in that dilapidated wooden house ahead," Kane said.
Upon hearing Kane’s words, Meizike silently took out a vial of potion and waved it to the group.
Then, a blue hand holding the potion flew over and smashed it onto the dilapidated roof of the wooden house.
A loud explosion echoed.
A milky-white light spread out from the gaps in the wooden house, and hoarse screams emanated from inside.
A large-bodied creature, accompanied by four zombies, burst out of the wooden house. It was a stitched-together butcher, holding a long iron hook in one hand and a broken slaughter knife in the other.
The other four zombies had their withered bodies protected by black grease, making them stronger.
However, they bore numerous scars, revealing burn marks, suggesting there were more zombies permanently downed inside.
The butcher roared at Kane and his team with its foul stench, hurling a massive hook toward them.
The hook caught Longbei at the front and dragged him forward.
But Longbei wasn’t panicked; instead, he grinned and transformed into a small giant.
He raised his shield and collided with the butcher. The Holy Light Giant Hammer in his hand smashed into the butcher, unleashing an impact within its body. This strike instantly killed the butcher on the spot.
Meanwhile, Kane and the others quickly dispatched the remaining four zombies around, perhaps these elite monsters were strong, but they were less troublesome than swarming hordes of smaller monsters for them.
Weapons with Holy Light Damage were too restraining for Undead System monsters.
Like fish electrocuted in water.
The zombies Kane and his team killed did not drop any magic items.
On the other side, Longbei cheerfully approached, lifting up a magic item in his hand, which was exactly what the butcher had dropped.
The item was the iron hook wielded by the butcher.
The huge iron hook was connected to a long iron chain, although the chain seemed somewhat insubstantial, like a faint shadow.
[Imprisoning Iron Hook]
[Iron Hook]
[Color: Copper]
[Attributes: Medium Durability]
[Skills: Soul-Seizing Imprisonment] (Throw the hook, the first person caught will be imprisoned and forcibly dragged toward the user.)
[Description: Originally an ordinary iron hook, entangled with countless lost souls, it will imprison the next victim and drag them into the same plight.]
Kane was somewhat troubled by this piece of equipment.
He handed the iron hook to the group, letting them decide who needed it the most.
Ultimately, the equipment was given to Longbei, as his short legs made chasing enemies genuinely difficult for him.
With this equipment, it could relatively offset this shortcoming of his.
After preparing, the team was ready to advance again.
They had been in this dungeon for more than half a day, yet they hadn’t found the entrance to the next level.
...
Kane was scouting on Cotton Candy, searching for possible places leading to the lower level.
Kane finally saw a huge magic power reaction ahead in an open area.
"Cotton Candy, move slightly to the left."
As Cotton Candy floated, the dungeon monster obscured behind was finally revealed.
It was a knight clad in black heavy armor, riding a massive skeleton horse, with ghostly blue flames flickering in its eyes and holding a huge lance.
Behind it was a temple with no doors, and in its center was a clearly visible downward tunnel.
That was likely the entrance to the next level.
And since the undead knight guarding the entrance hadn’t been defeated, Kane and his team were likely the first to find this place.
To be cautious, Kane used Eagle Eye, flying in a circle above to check for any hidden enemies lurking around, trying to take advantage.
He confirmed there were no other magic power reactions around, nor did he find any traces of hidden lurking.
He returned to his team.
He led the team to the edge of the open area.
Everyone drank the potions Meizike prepared, filling up with various enhancements.
Then Kreya unleashed her Lion King Domain, a massive lion’s phantom roaring to the sky behind her.
Kane and the others had a lion’s paw mark appear above their heads, while more power was imbued in them.
Subsequently, an aura appeared at her feet, further enhancing Kane and his team.
About ready.
The group charged at the massive undead knight, which also seemed to notice their presence.
Riding a giant skeleton warhorse, it rushed toward them.
"Miserable ants, attempting to disturb my king’s rest, Kantebet will guard my king’s peace. Brace for sorrowful death!"
A hoarse and chilling voice echoed from the undead knight’s helmet, revealing it as a wise dungeon monster.
Longbei transformed directly into a small giant, shouting insults at the undead knight, "You gatekeeping useless trash, do you think you’re important? You can’t do anything, your master probably forgot about you long ago."
Longbei’s taunts seemed to hit the undead knight’s sore spot accurately, the ghostly blue flames in the eye sockets of its helmet turning blood-red, roaring as it charged at Longbei.
Kreya had already charged from another direction, with the Pilgrim in her hand turned into a long golden Light Saber.
The undead knight’s massive lance struck fiercely against Longbei’s shield, but Longbei used some skill to deflect the force, sliding the lance off to the side.
Then he raised his giant hammer and slammed it onto the skeleton horse’s hind leg.
The undead knight instantly had a magic shield appear around it, nullifying the attack.
"Giant Star!"
A massive colorful five-pointed star flew out from Lilu’s position, dragging a rainbow-like trail, smashing into the undead knight’s magic shield.
Crack!
The star instantly shattered its shield into tiny speckles of light, accompanied by a child’s laughter as it broke.
Kreya, transformed into a pale undead, charged forward. The undead knight, now devoid of magic shield protection, sensed the impending attack and tried to dodge with all its might using its horse.
However, the spider silk had already secured him tightly, preventing any dodges, pulling him forcefully toward the attack.
The golden light blade directly sliced through its body, severing an arm and extending to carve a long wound across the abdomen.
No blood emerged, only ghostly blue flames bursting from the wounds.
Then, with the broken arm, it broke free from Kane’s spider silk, then hurled the giant lance in its other hand forcefully at Kreya.
Kreya’s other hand quickly formed a middle shield to block the lance’s attack, but it seemed to carry other energies, striking against Kreya.
Due to this energy impact, Kreya had to withdraw from her ghost form.
The undead knight now knew its death was imminent.
"For the master, loyal to the end!"
The undead knight, along with its ghost bone horse, was torn apart by a whirlpool, finally turning into a deep green screaming skull, trailing a streak as it struck Longbei.
Dark green smoke exploded on Longbei’s shield, sending the dwarf arcing through the air to a spot not far away.
Kane and the others quickly rushed toward Longbei’s position at the edge of the pit.
From the pit, a dust-covered Longbei emerged, smiling, even as he dusted himself off.
Other than looking disheveled, he seemed okay.
The heavy armor protected him very well!
"太爽了"隆贝兴奋说道.
