Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons
Chapter 157 Rescue
CHAPTER 157: CHAPTER 157 RESCUE
Kane and his team swiftly crossed over the collapsed buildings in front of them, revealing the original state of the battlefield before their eyes.
The explorer team that reached there before them was indeed the Explorer Squad led by Philis. However, their situation didn’t look good, and they were even on the brink of disaster.
The undead they were battling weren’t of a very high breed but were ordinary skeleton soldiers clad in armor.
However, these skeleton soldiers weren’t like the ones Kane had encountered on other levels, mindlessly charging forward without any order or cooperation.
Instead, they were equipped with different weapons, forming a neat array, advancing and retreating in an orderly manner, even using archers to perform long-range attacks in coordination with the melee skeleton soldiers at the front.
Every time Philis’ teammates cleared an area, it was quickly filled by more skeleton soldiers from behind.
On top of a four-story building was a distinct skeleton soldier, whose magic power reaction in Kane’s eyes was a level higher than that of an elite monster.
He waved his arms and opened his mouth as if directing the skeleton soldiers below, forming various arrays.
Judging by his attire, he appeared to be a commander, wearing exquisite armor, with a one-handed sword hanging at his waist, and beside him stood a flag representing the city, which Kane had just seen on the battlefield outside the city.
At this moment, Philis’ squad was on the brink of disaster; one member had already fallen to the ground, and the elf Philis was treating him.
The teammates beside them were desperately holding their shields, blocking the incoming arrows, while two others were doing their best to clear out the skeleton soldiers trying to approach.
"You guys go save Philis and them, I’ll go take out that commander up there."
After saying this, he rode the Cotton Candy to fly toward the skeleton commander on the building, while Kreya and the others charged toward the center of the skeleton horde.
Lilulu watched her friends in danger, their lives in jeopardy, becoming anxious. The magic power she just recovered was instantly depleted by her actions.
Creamy white butterflies flew into the sky again, turning into a meteor crashing into the center of the skeleton soldier formation.
When the blinding light disappeared, nearly half of the skeletons within the formation had fallen, indicating these skeletons were quite powerful.
Kreya and Longbei took advantage of the opportunity, rushing into the center of the formation, frantically sweeping through the surrounding skeleton soldiers with their Holy Light Weapons.
With hands formed from magic power, they were holding Holy Light Potion Bottles, throwing them toward distant archers.
If there were a skeleton commander directing them, these skeleton soldier losses might have been reduced significantly, but unfortunately, he couldn’t protect himself now.
On the rooftop, a halo floated behind Kane’s head as he wielded a golden long spear, attacking the leader in front of him.
Whenever the skeleton commander picked up his one-handed sword, intending to attack or defend, he was blocked by mysterious transparent objects appearing around him.
He might have been able to notice one or two, but these obstacles appeared too quickly and frequently, combined with Kane’s frenzied attacks making it impossible for him to defend, causing various dents in his armor.
The white spear tip, imbued with a milky-white Holy Light, suddenly pierced his shoulder.
The Holy Light permeated through his body, suddenly exploding from within his skeleton, blowing his arm off entirely.
The weapon fell to the ground along with it.
Before he could react, a golden glimmer flashed, and the white jade spear tip, exuding a milky-white glow, had already penetrated his skull, extinguishing his soul fire.
Withdrawing the spear, the skeleton commander collapsed to the ground, subsequently turning into a pile of dust.
Kane poked at the dust with his spear, then picked up two pieces of loot and held them in his hand.
Looking down, Kreya and Longbei had already eliminated most of the skeleton soldiers, cleaning up the remaining undead around them.
Meanwhile, Yoyo and Meizike were helping Philis’ squad member by treating the injuries to stabilize his life.
He swung over to their side using spider silk.
The injured one was the male elf from their squad, with an arrow wound seemingly around his heart.
Lilulu held the little elf beside her, comforting her.
Not long after, Kreya and Longbei also finished clearing all the surrounding skeleton soldiers and came over.
Their squad leader, the girl with the ram’s horns, grabbed Kane’s hand and shook it constantly, and although worried about her teammate’s condition, she thanked Kane, "Thank you, thank you for coming to rescue us."
She genuinely appreciated Kane’s squad; when they were surrounded by skeleton soldiers earlier, she truly thought their squad might fall in this dungeon.
Just as she wanted to say something more, Meizike’s voice came from the side.
"Stabilized, teleport now."
Upon hearing Meizike’s words, the girl with ram’s horns couldn’t hold back anymore and ran over.
Her teammates couldn’t help but gather around as well. The male elf hadn’t regained consciousness, only his life had been stabilized, but he was still not out of danger.
Their captain confirmed her teammate’s life was stable, "Thank you so much for your help. Once you’re out, I will repay you. My teammate still needs treatment, so we’ll leave first. I wish you military success."
Then she took out a Teleportation Scroll from her space equipment and spread it over the elf.
Her teammates also took out a Teleportation Scroll each and spread them out.
A blue halo surrounded them, gradually overlapping upward, and after a while, the entire Philis’ squad disappeared from their original location.
Though they saved them, it effectively eliminated a competitor.
Afterward, the group dispersed, searching through the ashes for the loot dropped by the group of skeleton soldiers.
Besides a pile of small materials, Kane’s kill, the commander, dropped a moderate amount of materials and a piece of equipment.
This equipment was a bone staff, inlaid with a dark green gemstone.
[Staff of Weakness Beam]
[Magic Staff]
[Color: Copper]
[Attributes: Slow Recovery - Magic Power]
[Skill: Weakness Beam] (Three times a day, directing the staff in one direction activates the skill, emitting a Weakness Beam that slows down enemy movement speed, reaction ability, and strength.)
[Introduction: Many mages carve skills onto wands that can automatically replenish uses to save magic power for emergencies.]
Who should get this equipment?
Kane explained the effects to the group, and eventually, the equipment ended up in Meizike’s hands.
