Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons
Chapter 180 Conspiracy
CHAPTER 180: CHAPTER 180 CONSPIRACY
"Did you bring the thing?" the bird-headed Explorer asked.
The four-eyed Explorer reached into the Void and then pulled out a round Crystal Stone that emitted a blue glow.
"Here it is, it took me quite an effort to get it here, this place is really remote."
The bird-headed Explorer took the Crystal Stone, observed it against the round moon in the sky, and said, "After all, it’s the world’s border, being far away is quite normal."
"Heh, you speak as if it’s easy here. To avoid the Mist Council’s search, we didn’t even dare to use the Teleportation Gate while carrying this thing. We’ve walked to the world’s edge on foot, have you ever suffered like this?"
The bird-headed Explorer, seemingly aware of his hardship, softened his tone and said, "Don’t be angry, all this is to destroy this world, for our revenge, for the place of our birth, for our ceaseless suffering."
As he spoke, his voice grew more passionate, and the people behind him also looked excited.
However, the four-eyed Explorer didn’t seem to be swayed, but neither did he argue, and casually waved his hand.
"And what about you? Have you found the space node? I don’t want to have gone through so much trouble bringing this only to waste my efforts."
"Heh," the bird-headed Explorer placed the Crystal in a container he had already prepared, "Rest assured, we’ve already found it."
He then used his Hooked Claw to scratch the nearby ordinary-looking tree trunk before stepping aside to indicate he should take a closer look.
Seeing the dim Rune that appeared on it, the four-eyed Explorer nodded in satisfaction.
The bird-headed Explorer stroked the spot where the Rune had vanished and said sharply, "This place, we found it with great effort. We have a bunch of brothers in the Dungeon completing the final level. Once they pass, they’ll send us a signal, and then..."
Just then, the Explorer with two long antennae on his forehead suddenly turned and looked to a spot not far from Kane and shouted, "Who’s there?"
There was a sudden commotion from the direction he was looking, and then a figure quickly dashed out of the forest.
"Quick, chase after them! If they get away, my efforts will have been for nothing,"
The bird-headed Explorer shouted frantically, then tore off his Cloak, spread his wings, and quickly pursued the fleeing figure.
The others also rushed out in pursuit.
Meanwhile, from the tree, Kane watched the departing Explorers, patting his chest with lingering fear.
When they were called out, he almost thought he had been discovered and was ready to go and fight with those Explorers.
It turned out there was someone else. So focused on the conversation that he didn’t notice others hiding nearby either.
Seeing the two teams of Explorers chasing the shadow, Kane immediately set in motion, closely following behind them.
It wasn’t long before a commotion erupted ahead. Soon, the Explorers in front stopped their steps.
When Kane caught up, he saw that the person hidden in the shadows had already been captured by the leading bird-headed Explorer.
Kane, using his Eagle Eye, saw this Explorer had a Copper-level Magic Power reaction.
Upon closer inspection, he found the Explorer wearing tight Leather Armor suited for stealthy operations, with a symbol belonging to the Mist Council. It was personnel affiliated with the Mist Council.
The bird-headed Explorer captured the Mist Council personnel and had his team tie them up.
"The Mist Council is quite vigilant, coming so quickly, but too bad, you discovered it too late. There’s no time left,"
The bird-headed Explorer taunted in front of the incapacitated Council personnel.
The four-eyed Explorer, seeing his teammate dawdling, reminded him, "Deal with him quickly, we still have tasks to complete."
"No need to rush, have some fun with him, there’s still a few hours before the agreed time. We’ve long found the location."
Upon hearing this, the four-eyed Explorer said no more, watching with a teasing expression as his teammate mocked the Mist Council’s personnel.
Before the main event, a bit of a prelude isn’t a bad choice.
The bird-headed Explorer reached over, using his claw to cut the cloth from the bound Explorer’s mouth.
Once the cloth was cut, the bound Explorer furiously cursed the people before him, "You rats from the sewer, daring to come out now when you should be hiding there."
"Hahaha, now you’re caught by the rats and will be killed by them. Better pray to your dear Mist for salvation, maybe there’s still a chance, hahaha..."
"You bastards who enjoy His grace yet want to betray Him. Pity, you lack the ability, living like ants under His oppression, fearful every day."
The trapped Explorer furiously taunted the group of people before him, seemingly resigned to death, unwilling to beg, fearing he hadn’t cursed enough in life, regretting if insufficient after death.
This seemed to hit a nerve, as the group showed angry expressions.
Even with a bird-head, Kane could see the livid expression on his face.
"Scream all you want, soon you’ll see the Dungeon collapse by our hands. This Dungeon symbolizes the World Ring’s activation, a warning from the Mist to you.
When it’s blown up, I’ll really want to see if you can maintain that expression, to see your council’s anxious faces, hahahaha..."
The sharp laughter carried far, giving Kane goosebumps.
However, Kane was shocked by the news that these people had a means to bomb the Dungeon in the starry sky.
Though there is a Teleportation Platform linking it to the space above, it’s still incredible.
Not only Kane, but the bound Explorer also looked shocked, then incredulously said, "Do you have the ability to blow up the Dungeon? If you had, you wouldn’t be sewer rats, eradicated repeatedly."
Noticing his expression, the bird-headed Explorer seemed to relish it, saying with a strange smile, "I like seeing your expression, when the Dungeon collapses, that shocked face will stay with me forever. Too bad you won’t see it anymore, goodbye..."
With that, the bird-headed Explorer turned, face full of ferocity, and then reached out with his Hooked Claw towards the bound Explorer’s head.
