CHAPTER 41: CHAPTER 41 NEW TEAMMATE

Time slowly passed by.

By this time, Big Gold Teeth was already empty. Around noon, there weren’t many explorers to be seen in the whole town.

Now was the time when they fervently battled in the dungeon. Those still in town were basically people healing injuries or newly arrived.

At the bar of Big Gold Teeth, Kane and Burton were still chatting. They had been talking since morning.

It was basically Kane asking questions, and Burton answering them.

With Burton’s hundreds of years of exploration experience, Kane’s various questions were simply a piece of cake.

For example, various dungeons that had already dissipated. With Burton’s initial golden-level strength, he had been through many historically famous dungeons.

Yes, this dwarf was indeed at the gold level. Although he claimed to have just entered the gold level and said he no longer had the talent to ascend,

in the eyes of ordinary people, gold was still an unattainable talent. Each sublimation of magic power was like a towering wall.

Talented people, it is like they have found a door, and all they need is a little push to sublimate.

Those without talent have to strive hard to climb over this high wall.

Burton said that was how he climbed to gold, and thereafter had no further opportunities to advance, stopping at this point.

But what Kane was more interested in was the various races mentioned by Burton. Over hundreds of years, he had formed teams with all kinds of explorers.

His talent wasn’t very high, coupled with being a rather well-known long-lived species.

He experienced many teams disbanding and companions passing away.

With aging body and no longer improving skills, he returned to the entrance of the initial dungeon and started a tavern.

Dwarves are nostalgic, but not very homesick. They only visit their hometown once a few years, and that’s usually for the grand Dwarf Beer Festival.

He preferred to stay in the place where he first started his journey.

Kane just learned that, hundreds of years ago, Crystal Town was a watchtower set up for a dungeon that appeared then.

It slowly developed into a town, and a century later another dungeon appeared in the town. Many people had long forgotten why this place was originally established.

After all, the main population here was human.

Chatting with Burton about his past, the sound of hoofbeats was heard. It seemed Kreya had returned.

She went out to send a letter to her parents, to tell them about her current situation.

Seeing Kreya come back, Kane asked, "How did it go, was the letter sent out?"

"Mm." She placed Youyou on the ground. "It’s been sent out, so as not to worry them later."

Hearing Kreya’s response, Kane couldn’t help but think of Uncle Ge Mu’s family. Once this dungeon is settled, I should inform them we’re safe.

Burton suddenly spoke, "If I count the time, the person I recommended should be arriving soon."

As soon as he finished speaking, the tavern door was pushed open, and a thin figure in tattered robes walked in.

As the figure got closer, a scent wafted over. It was like a mix of herbs, somewhat fresh, yet a bit pungent.

Kane found the figure familiar. The centaur beside him leaned over and whispered, "It’s the potion shop owner."

No wonder it felt familiar; he walked as if dragging his feet.

The figure slowly approached the bar.

Burton clearly knew the person. "Meizike, didn’t I tell you to rest well yesterday?"

Then he said to Kane and the others, "This is Meizike, the grandson of my former teammate."

"They’re the newly formed team I told you about yesterday," the dwarf said, pointing to Kane and the others.

Meizike pulled back the hood of his robe, revealing indeed the face of the potion shop owner.

His hair was dull yellow and his eye circles were heavily darkened.

He extended two left hands from under his robe, the arms pale as if melted by wax.

He then introduced himself, "Meizike Tu."

Kane and Kreya shook his hands in turn.

"Kane Lafray"

"Kreya Perec"

Wait a minute, how does he have two left hands? Kane noticed that both he and Kreya were shaking the same direction hand.

Just now, he wondered why he needed to shake hands with two people simultaneously.

Meizike noticed Kane’s confusion but didn’t explain. Instead, he extended two right hands.

He had a total of four hands.

Burton explained beside him, "Meizike isn’t an ordinary human; he is of the multi-handed race."

Oh, Kane had only heard Burton talk about this race earlier this morning.

The multi-handed race is a new race in this world, known to have emerged after the last world expansion.

Most live in the Border City State Region, but in the northwest Border City State, while here it’s directly north.

Lifespan and appearance are very similar to humans, except for the number of arms.

Before he could learn more, a loud voice came from outside.

"Brother, come out quickly and greet your dear younger brother."

A dwarf barged in and, upon seeing Burton, dashed over.

"Good brother." The dwarf jumped onto the bar and fiercely hugged Burton. "Last time during the Beer Festival, why didn’t you return home? And where’s the team you recommended to me?"

"Idiot."

Burton broke free from the embrace and smacked the dwarf on the head hard.

With a thud, the dwarf was knocked off the bar.

The three onlookers, including Kane, squinted their eyes involuntarily, it looked really painful.

But the dwarf didn’t seem to care, he stood up and rubbed his head.

Addressing Burton, he said, "Where’s the team you mentioned?"

"Are you blind?" Burton pointed to Kane and the others. "There they are."

The dwarf circled around the three, brazenly sizing them up with his eyes.

"A pretty boy, a horse, and a four-handed weakling?"

He shrugged and continued, "Such a combination is indeed rare, but are they really formidable?"

How to offend four people in one sentence, now there was an answer.

Burton jumped up from the bar and knocked the dwarf to the ground with a punch.

"You fool, when you were born, I should’ve asked mom to sew your mouth shut."

Saying this didn’t satisfy his anger, he jumped again and stomped on him.

Though Kane and the others were a little annoyed, they were more shocked by the interaction between Burton and his brother.

Is this really okay?

The dwarf got up, dusted himself off, acting as if nothing had happened.

Burton continued yanking his ear, shouting, "Teaming up with them is an honor for you, you know."

"No way, impossible. I am a reserve Iron Guard of Furnace Castle." The brother’s words made the dwarf shout.

Burton didn’t bother with him any further, but instead nodded at Kane, motioning to him.

Kane, seeing his gesture, instantly understood his meaning.

He opened his outer garment, revealing the badge pinned inside.

"That’s the Mist Badge, you’re a Warrior of the Mist, oh my."

The dwarf broke free from his brother’s hold, ran in front of Kane, and exclaimed.

Meizike also turned around, looking at Kane with an expression of surprise.
