CHAPTER 42: CHAPTER 42: INTRODUCTION TO ABILITIES

Big Gold Teeth’s tavern

Burton’s brother grabbed Kane’s arm.

"You really are the Warrior of the Mist?"

The Dwarf was somewhat shocked, though he had already confirmed it, he still wanted to hear Kane admit it himself.

Kane shrugged helplessly, nodded and said, "Of course, would the medals lie?"

"Oh, for the mist’s sake, I apologize for my earlier words,"

Upon finishing, the Dwarf bowed to Kane and the other two, apologizing one by one.

The Dwarf reached out to Kane and said, "I’m called Longbei, Longbei Flamebeard."

Kane shook his hand and introduced himself briefly.

The Dwarf then gave everyone a quick introduction.

Burton stepped forward, clapping his hands to gain everyone’s attention.

"Alright, aren’t you two going to introduce your professions and roles briefly? We’re recruiting for the team right now."

Longbei stepped out first and introduced his role.

"I am a Dwarf Iron Guard. If it’s a tricky leader monster, I’ll definitely block it solidly in front of my teammates."

He then pulled out a great shield from his space equipment, a shield almost as tall as Kane.

But in Longbei’s hands, it was as light as a foam shield.

He continued, "Though I am my brother’s brother, I’m only 150 years old, just recently reached adulthood. Before I was always training in Furnace Castle, only became an Explorer a year ago. But many teams can’t keep up with me. I block the leader, and they end up being defeated by small monsters. Really, how..."

"Alright, stop yapping incessantly. Why doesn’t mom sew your mouth shut?"

Burton couldn’t stand it anymore, came over and gave him a slap on the head, urging him to shut his mouth.

Kane understood now, this one’s a chatterbox.

Then everyone focused on Meizike, waiting for his introduction.

As they watched, he extended four hands directly from his robe.

Holding four small bottles, he then tossed them toward Kane and the others.

Seeing his movement, Kane and Kreya instinctively wanted to dodge.

"Stay put, this is his ability," Burton immediately spoke up when he saw Meizike’s actions, reminding them.

Upon hearing him, Kane and the other two restrained their urge to dodge.

The bottles didn’t smash directly onto them but hovered above their heads.

The liquid turned into a stream of brilliance and flowed into their bodies.

The body felt light.

That was Kane’s first sensation as the liquid entered his body. It felt as if something gently lifted him, the whole body feeling lighter.

The effect manifested as increased speed.

Whether it was striking or running.

Kreya lightly tapped the ground, her figure darted forward a bit.

Seeing Kreya’s action, Kane threw a few quick punches into the air.

If previously he could throw four punches per second, now he could manage about five and a half.

Seeing everyone already felt the potion’s effect, Meiketsu pointed at himself.

"Pharmacist, auxiliary healing, a bit of damage."

He then raised his four hands, shaking them at them.

Got it, four hands can perform multi-thread operations, healing teammates all at once.

He then opened his robe revealing a belt set with four space gems.

He pulled out a few potions with clearly different colors.

The implication should be that there are many auxiliary enhancements, indicating strength.

Looking at his actions, Burton helplessly patted his face, then explained to everyone.

"Meizike isn’t much of a talker, but as you’ve seen, his supporting methods are impressive. His magic potion crafting technique comes from his grandfather, who was my former teammate, an inherited Master of Potions."

Burton then solemnly told Kane and the others, "However, he’s not yet an Explorer, hasn’t cleared a dungeon. But you’ve also seen his potential, his grandfather entrusted him to me, hoping I could find him a good team. So I have my eyes on you, on you Kane."

Seeing Burton’s gaze, Kane patted his chest.

"Rest assured, Uncle Burton, we definitely won’t let you down, swearing by the mist."

Seeing Kane’s promise, a cheerful smile appeared on Burton’s face.

"Hahahaha, with this assurance, you’re a fine young man."

"Aren’t you worried about your dear brother?" Longbei suddenly popped up, patting Burton’s shoulder and asked.

Burton didn’t even want to answer his question, giving him a slap as a response.

Then without bothering further, he turned to Kane and the others and said, "Find a good spot to sit. Today I’ll give it my all to prepare a delicious meal for you."

Watching Burton leave, Kane and the others found a good spot and sat down.

As soon as they sat down, Longbei couldn’t hold back and started chatting with Kane.

"Kane, what’s your role in the team? Will it clash with us two?"

Right, although they understood Longbei and Meizike’s abilities and roles, they still hadn’t understood their own.

"My role in the team is long-range output, control, reconnaissance, and close combat if necessary."

Upon hearing Kane’s response, Longbei was somewhat impressed.

"A jack of all trades, able to offer various supports, no ability unable to complete this task."

"No wonder you’re a Warrior, huh?"

Longbei’s tone was kind of admiring.

Then he turned to ask Kreya, "What about Miss Centaur here?"

"Capable of performing all positions in close combat."

Hearing Centaur’s response, and thinking about the newcomer Meizike who just joined like him, Longbei felt excited.

Looks like everyone in this team is quite strong.

The teams he joined before were too weak. When he was holding back the Dungeon Leader alone, expecting the teammates to contribute damage, but or get wiped out by the monsters the leader brought along.

The subsequent teams he joined dragged him down excessively.

Though it’s unclear about this team’s strength, it doesn’t seem too weak.

Listening to Longbei talk nonstop and occasionally answering while Burton finally prepared the feast.

But even Burton’s delicious food couldn’t shut his mouth.

Especially when he noticed Kreya’s appetite.

"Oh, for the mist’s sake, you can eat so much!"

Kreya had already understood this Dwarf’s style, said nothing, and directly switched to a straight sword.

"Alright, alright, look at my mouth, it doesn’t listen to me anymore."

After a delicious meal

Burton prepared a room for Longbei, right next to Kane’s.

While Meizike’s home is in the town, so he needs to return and ready his things for tomorrow’s dungeon trip.

Kane then went to Kreya’s room.
