The clinic has been built, and because Madam Rosary, Madam Lumia, and Madam Elizabeth, as well as the servants brought with them are now working, my workload had become considerably lighter.

But I can’t let my guard down, I never know when a huge mountain of paperwork will come barging in.

That’s why I think now’s the best time to forge the sword I’ve been considering for a while now.

I already had the Demon Sword Tsukiyomi, the twin sword of Sophia’s Amaterasu.

But during the fight with the undead in the last dungeon, it was bestowed with the Lightning attribute, but the Dark attribute of Tsukiyomi made it challenging.

The Ice Bringer is difficult to handle in a melee, so I would prefer to have a sword in those situations.

And so I’ve decided to make one or two more swords.

What I’ve thought of was either a simple sword like Sophia’s Amaterasu which has a single attribute, or perhaps adding an attribute at each fight.

If it’s a sword that had been bestowed with an attribute beforehand, I simply have to channel my magic power through it. It’s easy to use, and all my weapons that I have used were of this type.

Meanwhile, if I were to add an attribute based on every encounter with an opponent, I wouldn’t need to change between weapons to match their weakness.

Even so, both options had their merits and demerits. The weapon that had a fixed attribute grew in power the more magic power is channeled into it. If you want firepower, it should be this type.

On the other hand, the method of assigning attributes each time based on the opponent provides versatility against all opponents, though it does lack in attack power.

Should I go for the offense-specialized type, or should I go for the versatility type to use on any property.

In my case, the specialized type was the only choice.

As to why, I have the Item Box. It was possible to switch weapons in the middle of battle, and that’s what I’ve been doing this entire time. That meant that I could seamlessly switch weapons based on my opponents.

This made what base metal I use important.

Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi were synthesized using orichalcum with the Sword of the Absorber. This time, I plan on using orichalcum again, and I will have to think about what metal or alloys to use with it.

「Maybe I should try asking Gnome.」

I have to get orichalcum from him anyway, the amount I have on hand isn’t enough, after all.

Now that that’s decided, let’s talk to Gnome right away.

The place I headed to was the brewery.

Basically, Gnome and Salamander were here often.

「Ah, as I thought, you’re here, Gnome.」

「Hm? Oh it’s you. What’s up?」

「The thing is………」

Sure enough, Gnome and Salamander were here with Doganbo-san and Golan-san.

So I told Gnome that I was thinking of forging a new sword, that I want enough orichalcum for two, and asked for his advice on what metals I should use in the alloy.

「Fumu, orichalcum, huh? You can take more than two portions. The Dwarves here only handle adamantite. Quantity is of no concern.」

「Oh, you’re going to alloy orichalcum?」

「That’s right, Salamander.」

Salamander showed interested as well and approached us.

「……are you synthesizing hihiirokane mainly with orichalcum?」

「Hihiirokane?」

「Umu, hihiirokane is tough by itself but loses slightly in hardness compared to mithril. However, this metal is special, it automatically repairs itself even without having been enchanted.」

「Wow, but if it has an issue with hardness, then it wouldn’t be suitable for a sword, no?」

The blade definitely requires hardness. Balancing high toughness and hardness was the most difficult part.

「That’s not a problem. Actually, when this metal called hihirokane is alloyed with certain metals, it elevates that material’s toughness and hardness by several ranks. In some ways, it’s a god metal.」

「Could it be, one of those is orichalcum?」

Gnome nodded. That was a given since we were talking about alloying orichalcum.

「Okay, let’s go to Takumi’s workshop.」

「Eh? Gnome, you’re going to the workshop?」

「Yeah, and because this hihiirokane is a god metal, it’s a bit peculiar, alchemy and smithing magic won’t be enough.」

「Eh, is that so?」

「Okay! I’m going too!」

「Salamander, you too?」

「Umu, it’s perfect.」

「Takumi, can we tag along?」

Then Doganbo-san and Golan-san chimed in, wanting to go as well.

「Even us dwarven artisans haven’t handled orichalcum and hihiirokane. We’ll do odd jobs or anything, so let us observe.」

「Fumu, this is an opportunity for you too, you may come.」

Gnome agreed that they could come before I could give my OK. Perhaps there was some reason for it.

The five of us headed to the smithing workshop.
