Soul Land 2: Huo Yuhao, Join Sun and Moon
Chapter 269 269: The End of the Exchange Program
"As you command, Lord Seagod." Seagod Douluo dared not question Tang San further. As the current patriarch of the Seagod Clan, he had to obey the orders of Seagod Tang San without hesitation.
For him, the commands of the Seagod were divine decrees absolute and unquestionable.
To defy a divine decree would bring unthinkable consequences.
Although Seagod Douluo was undoubtedly a powerful figure, his strength only applied within the Douluo Continent's Soul Master community.
Compared to Seagod Tang San, even the most powerful Ultimate Douluo was nothing more than an insignificant insect.
Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineering Academy
Beibei stood in his former dormitory, his expression tinged with nostalgia.
Soon, he would be leaving this academy and returning to Shrek Academy.
Once back, he would be reunited with familiar faces.
Yet, deep down, Beibei wasn't entirely ready to leave.
On one hand, he felt that he hadn't learned enough about soul tools.
On the other, he had yet to find Tang Ya.
His longing for Tang Ya had left him restless every night, tossing and turning in bed.
But his exhausting soul tool studies kept him from dwelling too much on it.
Closing the door behind him, he stepped into the hallway, his thoughts spiraling.
*"Could it be that the Evil Soul Masters really killed Xiaoya?
Is that why I haven't been able to find any clues about her whereabouts?
No… that's impossible.
Even if the Evil Soul Masters captured her, they would keep her alive as a hostage not kill her outright.
After all, Xiaoya has value.
She is the Tang Sect Leader and my girlfriend.
Even though my true identity is hidden from the public, everyone still knows me as a Shrek Academy genius.
Using Xiaoya as leverage to force me to work for them would be far more valuable than killing her outright."*
*"Unless… Xiaoya was attacked by some rogue Evil Soul Masters who didn't know her identity…
If that's the case, then she might have already…"*
"No! Xiaoya is strong. She won't die that easily."
Beibei's heart grew heavier with worry.
"Beibei! Hold up!"
A male voice interrupted his thoughts.
Beibei paused, turning around to see Ye Xiaosheng approaching.
"Brother Sheng, have you packed your things?" Beibei asked.
Ye Xiaosheng was a senior from Shrek's Inner Court and a Level 6 Soul Engineer.
Back at the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineering Academy, he often acted like a big brother to the younger exchange students.
Ever since Fan Yu and He Caitou were expelled for stealing soul tool blueprints, the remaining Shrek exchange students had endured constant scrutiny and hostile treatment from Sun Moon students.
Some even went out of their way to provoke them.
Ye Xiaosheng, however, handled most of these conflicts on their behalf.
Despite his flaws, he was undeniably a good person.
So, Beibei respected him.
Ye Xiaosheng grinned, nodding. "Yep! All packed. Let's get back to Shrek. I wonder if Dean Qian will throw a welcome back banquet for us."
Beibei chuckled. "Knowing Dean Qian, he probably wouldn't refuse."
"You're right! He's always been good to the students."
Ye Xiaosheng paused, then added, *"Oh, by the way, Beibei… I heard the Sun Moon Academy is holding a farewell ceremony for us.
Let's gather everyone and go attend."*
"Alright."
The two quickly went to gather the other exchange students.
Soon, the Shrek students were assembled, making their way to the academy's grand plaza.
The plaza was already filled with Sun Moon students.
As the Shrek students arrived, the crowd parted to make way for them.
All eyes were on them as they walked toward the center of the plaza.
Jing Hongchen stood at the front, smiling as he addressed the audience.
Nearby, Huo Yuhao stood quietly, observing.
Listening to Jing Hongchen's speech, he couldn't help but feel amused.
Jing Hongchen's words were flowery and exaggerated a perfectly crafted farewell speech.
He lavished praise on the Shrek exchange students, complimenting their talent and hard work.
At the same time, he subtly highlighted the superiority of Sun Moon Academy's education, implying that the Shrek students had become stronger thanks to their time here.
Of course, Huo Yuhao knew this was just for show.
As the Hall Master of Mingde Hall, Jing Hongchen was a master at diplomacy.
Saying these pleasant sounding words was second nature to him.
By the time Jing Hongchen finally finished his speech, many of the Shrek students looked visibly exhausted.
Then, Jing Hongchen smiled knowingly and announced:
"To make this farewell even more special, we have a distinguished guest with us today His Highness, the Crown Prince!"
Suddenly, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed across the plaza.
A squad of fully armored soldiers marched in, filling the atmosphere with an oppressive presence.
A figure in a wheelchair was pushed forward Crown Prince Xu Tianran.
The Shrek students immediately straightened, their fatigue vanishing as they turned to observe the prince.
Even Beibei, despite his preoccupied thoughts, found himself staring at Xu Tianran.
After all, this man was the heir to the Sun Moon Empire's throne.
And according to Shrek Academy's teachings, the greatest threat to peace was none other than the Sun Moon Empire itself.
To Beibei, Xu Tianran was a future enemy one who would eventually lead the war against the Douluo Alliance and Shrek Academy.
The Shrek students bowed slightly out of courtesy.
Although Shrek and Sun Moon had conflicts, they hadn't officially severed ties yet.
As visitors, they still had to follow proper etiquette.
Xu Tianran smiled at them.
*"You've all traveled a long way to be here… and now that you're leaving, I wanted to personally send you off.
I must say, the Shrek Exchange Program has a truly legendary reputation."*
"Your Highness flatters us," Ye Xiaosheng replied cautiously.
He had no idea what Xu Tianran was planning.
"No need to be so humble," Xu Tianran waved dismissively.
*"You all deserve recognition.
Every Shrek exchange student here is a genius.
If any of you wish to serve the Sun Moon Empire, I can offer you great wealth and status."*
His golden eyes glimmered with an undetectable ambition as he observed the students in front of him.
Though he sought to unify the continent, he did not wish to destroy Shrek Academy.
He understood that wiping out Shrek would provoke backlash from the Douluo Alliance's native citizens.
For his rule to be successful, he needed a different approach…
And what better way than winning over Shrek's most promising talents?
