CHAPTER 298: ENERGY INTERTWINED

Lucas sat at the very center of the frozen chamber, sealed in a crystalline cocoon of pure ice that shimmered faintly under the dim light. The frost was so thick and translucent that it looked almost divine, as though nature itself had sculpted him into a statue of serenity. His hair was streaked with silver now, frozen strands gleaming with a faint azure glow.

The entire room was transformed into something otherworldly. The walls, once carved marble, were now living ice...frozen Qi crawling over their surface, glowing faintly like constellations in a winter sky. Even the ceiling dripped with frost that never melted, while the floor beneath their feet was slick and cold, shimmering like glass. And there, a few feet away from Lucas, was the Ice Belle herself...frozen in the same crystalline embrace, her tiny body glowing softly with threads of divine light.

For a long moment, no one spoke. The cold stole their voices, and awe kept them still. It felt as if they were standing in the heart of a glacier...a sacred place untouched by time or warmth.

Lira took a hesitant step forward, her footwear crunching softly against the thin crust of frost beneath her. "He’s... he’s completely covered," she whispered, her breath forming a mist that vanished instantly. "Even the Ice Belle..."

Henrietta’s eyes softened as she looked at him, a faint ache rising in her chest. "He looks peaceful," she murmured, voice barely audible. "But this isn’t normal cultivation. This is... something else."

Nyx stood silent for a few moments, her expression grave yet filled with awe. The faint blue glow from her own Qi resonated faintly with the cold energy that surrounded Lucas. She could feel it deep in her bones..the rhythm of the frost, the pulse of energy beneath the ice. When she finally spoke, her voice carried a tone of realization.

"This... isn’t just his Qi at work," she said softly, moving closer to the frozen cocoon. "This is the Ice Belle’s doing as well. The two of them have become completely synchronized. Their energy is intertwined now, perfectly balanced between mortal Qi and divine essence."

Selene, who had been standing behind her, looked at her with wide eyes. "You mean... this is all because of the Ice Belle?"

Nyx nodded slowly, her gaze tracing the faint patterns of frozen runes that spiraled outward from Lucas’s body to cover the entire chamber. "Yes. Her divine power has fused with his cultivation. She must have transferred a part of her essence into him...intentionally or not. That’s why his Ice Affinity has grown so strong. Stronger than even I can sense fully."

Henrietta frowned slightly, her arms folding across her chest as she watched Lucas’s motionless form. "So what does that mean for him? Is it dangerous?"

Nyx shook her head, though her expression remained serious. "No. Not dangerous. Just... extraordinary. He’s evolving. His Qi, his meridians, his Dantian...they’re all adjusting to hold this new kind of energy. It’s pure, almost celestial in nature. The Ice Belle’s divinity has amplified his affinity far beyond what’s normal for a human cultivator."

Lira stepped beside Nyx, her voice tinged with concern. "But how do we reach him? How do we bring him out of this state?"

Nyx placed a hand on the icy surface of the cocoon. The cold bit into her palm instantly, but she didn’t pull back. Instead, she closed her eyes, trying to sense the flow of Qi inside. "We don’t," she said quietly. "Not yet. He’s not trapped...he’s transforming. Interrupting him now would destroy the balance between his Qi and the Ice Belle’s divine essence."

Selene looked around the room, her voice low. "Then we wait?"

Nyx nodded. "We wait. When his body finishes adjusting, the ice will melt on its own. He’s breaking limits we didn’t even know could be broken."

For a while, they all stood there, staring at Lucas...their lover, frozen in time yet alive with power. The Ice Belle’s glow pulsed faintly from within her crystalline shell, like a heartbeat that reassured them he wasn’t gone.

Lira sighed softly and knelt near the frozen figure. "You’ve changed again, haven’t you, Master?" she said with a small smile. "Every time we think we’ve caught up to you, you just keep getting further ahead."

Henrietta placed a gentle hand on Lira’s shoulder. "Let him finish this. He’s closer to something great...I can feel it."

And Nyx, standing over them, her eyes shimmering like frozen stars, whispered quietly, almost to herself, "His Ice Affinity now... it’s no longer just mortal. It carries the breath of divinity itself."

As the girls stood there admiring the whole thing, a low echoing crack tore through the room, and the frost-ridden chamber trembled faintly. The girls froze in place as hairline fractures began to snake across the thick layers of ice surrounding Lucas. The runes that had glowed faintly moments ago flickered brighter, and with a sudden, resonant shatter, the frozen cocoon burst apart in a shower of glimmering shards.

Cold mist filled the room, swirling like living snow. When it cleared, Lucas could be seen amidst the broken frost, steam rising from his body as if his Qi itself burned with heat beneath the cold. His eyes opened slowly...two sharp, glacial-blue irises that reflected the light like frozen lakes under the sun. He drew in a long breath, and with that, the remaining frost on his skin cracked and fell away like brittle glass.

The sudden rush of Qi stirred the air. The icy barrier coating the walls hissed and melted slightly as warmth began to seep back into the chamber. The Ice Belle, still perched nearby in her frozen state, blinked rapidly as the frost coating her wings shattered, and she gave a small sneeze before fluttering up, wobbling midair before landing squarely on Lucas’s shoulder.

Lucas blinked several times, disoriented. His voice came out rough and hoarse, yet calm. "How long have I been in here?"

Lira, who had been standing closest, rushed forward with relief flooding her face. "Master! You’re finally awake!" She knelt beside him, brushing pieces of frost off his shoulder. "You’ve been cultivating for months. We tried to come in sooner, but the ice was too thick. Even Nyx had to push her affinity to the limit to open the door."

Lucas’s expression shifted slightly as he looked around, taking in the faint blue glow that still lingered over every inch of the chamber. "Months..." he murmured softly, more to himself than to anyone else. He looked down at his own hands...his skin carried a faint pale hue now, a cool radiance that didn’t belong to a mortal cultivator. The air around him still shimmered faintly with residual frost energy, bending the light in waves of silver-blue.
