Special Forces Medic
Chapter 24 - 19 The Innocent Little Sister
CHAPTER 24: CHAPTER 19 THE INNOCENT LITTLE SISTER
Asking for votes, favorites, clicks, recommendations! ~! ~ Poor me, I just found out that a section of cable from our hometown was stolen, and it looks like it’ll take a few days for power to be restored. Only then will the broadband be up. Seeing how pitiable I am, could you give some recommendations!
After Xiao Lin returned to his room, he made himself a cup of tea, sat in front of his computer desk, crossed his legs, leisurely opened his broadband laptop, and began chatting on QQ and playing DOTA to dominate the game. That’s Xiao Lin’s current most relaxed way to spend time.
Then, Xiao Lin opened QQ, and quite a few messages popped up immediately. Over the past two months he hadn’t logged in, many friends on the gaming side had sent messages.
"Military Doctor, did you really go on a mission abroad?"
"Military Doctor, you kid disappeared again!"
Xiao Lin’s QQ and game accounts are both called Special Forces Medic. Xiao Lin is very honest online, but hardly anyone believes him because, think about it, what military medic from special forces has the time to be online playing games? And not just play, but play for an entire day or all night long, sometimes for consecutive days. Which medic is so idle?
Although not many believed him, Xiao Lin’s skill at playing DOTA was still quite excellent, considered one of the experts in their guild. Once he even entered the top 32 in an online competition on a battle platform, but DOTA isn’t about personal skills; it’s about team coordination and hero confrontation.
Xiao Lin didn’t leave them private messages. They all belong to a QQ group, and Xiao Lin looked at the QQ showing hundreds of messages and got curious. After only a little while opening QQ, to know that the QQ group’s latest message display allows for only twenty messages, it means within these one or two minutes, the group refreshed almost eighty conversations.
To know that this group isn’t for chatting and messing around, but a gaming group, and usually, very few talk in the group. Curious, Xiao Lin clicked open the QQ group, and messages started pouring in immediately.
"Hey guys, what are you all talking about, so excitedly?" Xiao Lin typed a sentence.
"Military Doctor is here, where did you vanish for more than a month? Was the mission that tricky this time?" A netizen named Steel Torrent often used to hang with Xiao Lin to earn points and was brought up by Xiao Lin. Now he’s quite a moderate player in the guild.
"Loli, the number one expert in our guild is here. If you want to learn DOTA, ask him to teach you. He can turn you into an expert!" A guy named Lin Tao said. It’s said Lin Tao is his real name, but who knows if that’s true.
Xiao Lin quickly browsed through the messages above. It turned out a sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl broke into the group and posted some charming and cute photos, immediately making the hungry wolves in the group ravenous, wishing to dig up information on this pure little miss.
Seeing the message from this pure little miss, Xiao Lin couldn’t help but chuckle. This little miss was quite aggressive, claiming to be someone from society, and no one dares to disrespect her in her area. Just a kid bragging, Xiao Lin didn’t take it seriously.
"Military Doctor, I heard you’re great at DOTA. Could you teach me?" The pure little miss saw the guild guys always claiming the Military Doctor was the guild’s number one. However, after more than a week of being here, she hadn’t seen the Special Forces Medic speak. Now, seeing Xiao Lin online, she couldn’t help bothering him with a few words.
"Military Doctor, come on, let’s go crush some noobs in the rookie room. Our team had bad luck today; we lost trying to carry that little loli, and I’m quite frustrated!" Steel Torrent privately messaged Xiao Lin.
"You guys aren’t bad, how come you’re getting beaten in the rookie room?" Xiao Lin curiously asked.
"Dude, we can handle 4v5, but the problem is when it’s 4v6; there’s someone on our side constantly sending money to the opponent, no matter how skilled we are, we can’t keep up with the opponent getting equipment so quickly!" Steel Torrent said helplessly.
Xiao Lin couldn’t help but smile. DOTA is a team game, it’s all about teamwork, and the selection of heroes against one another. If the heroes counter each other, as long as the skill difference isn’t too big, you have a bigger chance to win.
"Still bringing that pure little miss along?" Xiao Lin asked.
"Yes, why not!" Steel Torrent sent a cheeky emoji: "These days, her complaints made me speechless. I used the Centaur and she kept complaining during the battle why I didn’t use my ultimate! I was speechless!"
Xiao Lin almost burst out laughing. Apparently, this pure little miss was new to the game, hopelessly bad to a point of no return. Centaur and using ult? Acting like she knows her stuff.
"Kid, don’t mock her. Back when I played Xiao Hei, didn’t you also tell me to use my ultimate?" Xiao Lin responded with a mischievous grin emoji, quite amusing.
"...Hehe, everyone grows from a rookie!" Steel Torrent chuckled.
The two wolves who often hung around with Xiao Lin came out of the game too. Seeing the Military Doctor’s chat in the group, they privately messaged Xiao Lin, who replied with three words: Old place!
Steel Torrent seemed quite familiar with that pure little miss. Xiao Lin and two other teammates had just set up the room when Steel Torrent and the pure little miss entered as well.
"You guys take control and early game, I’ll handle the late!" The pure little miss came in with quite an arrogant tone.
"..."
"..."
A newcomer called Centaur use ultimate, can you really expect her to manage late game?
"Sure, no problem!" Xiao Lin had no objection to this, and Steel Torrent was even more agreeable, already bewitched by that pure little miss.
Before long, the room was full. GOGOGOGO!
DOTA is a ten-player battle type, divided into the Sentinel and the Scourge, with five people on each side controlling five heroes.
The first pick for a hero was on the Scourge side. The other side probably formed a premade team and picked the Tree right away, a controller that prevents heroes caught in its field from attacking or moving for three seconds. Level one ultimate drains life by sixty, level two by eighty, level three by a hundred.
"Pick the little Dwarf for me, quick!" The pure little miss chimed in again. This hero choice was even more speechless. Clearly a newbie, yet she picked such a high-difficulty hero.
The little Dwarf’s full name is Dwarf Fire Gunner, the only gun-wielding hero in DOTA. Online, there was even a quick joke saying the only man in DOTA is the Dwarf Fire Gunner because he has a "gun."
"Women just love guns!" A teammate said slyly in a subdued tone.
The little miss had been in the group for over a week and was immune to such crude jokes, immediately replying: "I just like guns, so what!" As expected of the little miss, speaking so brashly.
"Lonely, help him pick the Firearms, I want the Puppy!" Xiao Lin typed a sentence, decisively choosing the Puppy. Among the heroes currently on screen, the Puppy alone is the nemesis of the Tree, with the only other one, the long-range Dwarf Sniper, on their side. Plus, the Puppy’s fake late game comes up the fastest—after twenty minutes, it can have a skull basher, power treads, hand of Midas, and a hyperstone. A Puppy with these items in twenty minutes is absolutely invincible.
