Chapter 325 - 313: Fourth Master Is Not a God, Neither Are You!
CHAPTER 325: CHAPTER 313: FOURTH MASTER IS NOT A GOD, NEITHER ARE YOU!
Moth’s heart trembled as he watched the person in front of him vanish into thin air.
"I told you, a lot can be done in 0.01 seconds. Why don’t you believe me?" Hua Qingyi pouted like a child, pointing a gun at Moth’s head, "If you don’t want to die, put down your weapons."
The cold barrel was aimed at his temple. Moth didn’t doubt the man’s words; the bullet would mercilessly pierce his skin and enter his brain. He might even smell his skin burning before he died. He didn’t want to take the risk because he didn’t want to go against himself, so he obediently dropped his gun and raised his hands.
Moth’s residence was actually very small, just like his cold and ruthless style of dealing with things. Xiao Lin easily scanned the entire room, while Miao Shaoqing, who had emerged from the basement, shrugged at Xiao Lin, indicating he hadn’t found anything of meaningful value. There was nothing here.
"Watch out!" Xiao Lin suddenly dashed away from Miao Shaoqing’s side, shooting the Silver Needle at Moth’s left arm and left leg.
"Damn it! You dare sneak attack me." Hua Qingyi furiously punched Moth’s head, rendering him completely defenseless.
"Enough, any more and he’ll die." Xiao Lin stepped between Hua Qingyi and Moth, his explosive temper always a bit of a headache for him: "Take him inside. Shaoqing, guard outside."
The gunshots didn’t disturb the neighbors; whether they were numb or adhering to the principle of only minding their own business, those people didn’t even want to stick their heads out, busying themselves indoors. That was good too, saving much trouble.
Finding some tying ropes in a toolbox from the basement, Hua Qingyi tied Moth’s hands and feet to the chair, lit a cigarette for Xiao Lin. He moved a chair to sit opposite Moth; the real man was much darker than his photo, also much more robust, likely a physique honed in the military, an excellent place for training, especially for recruits.
Xiao Lin silently took a drag, casually using the Silver Needle to unlock Moth’s acupoints.
Moth moved his stiff neck, realizing his hands and feet were bound, giving up struggling. He had imagined such a day might come and was always ready for its arrival.
"Caught by you guys, I admit it!" He spit to the side: "At least let me know who you are. So I can die without resentment." He looked at Xiao Lin, realizing if not for him, he might have escaped under the man who was more beautiful than a woman or died directly. He couldn’t help but say, "Dying by your hand is better than dying by someone who looks like a woman."
"You bastard..." Hua Qingyi hated being called a woman, so he always fought with men because of this face.
"We don’t want to kill you." Xiao Lin, standing by, simply raised his left hand, firmly stabilizing Hua Qingyi, "As long as you cooperate, we won’t kill you."
"What do you want me to do?" Moth ignored Hua Qingyi, treating him like air, his cruel eyes watching Xiao Lin’s every move. The woman on the bed had begun to stiffen, her pale face terrifying under the bright lamp.
"Fourth Uncle!" Moth’s eyes widened, Xiao Lin shook his head: "You have no choice. As long as you agree to lead us in, I can guarantee you will be removed from Dragon Soul’s wanted list."
Moth squinted, hesitating and distrustful in his eyes. But the man in front, seemingly in his early twenties didn’t appear to be lying, so he spoke in a deep voice: "I am a man walking on wetland; I’m going to die anyway. Dying here is better than dying by Fourth Uncle’s hand."
Xiao Lin chuckled, as such refusal was expected. This wasn’t a TV drama following one’s wishes; random threats wouldn’t make an enemy confess.
Moth was a desperado who viewed life and death lightly, so attacking from that angle was futile, a waste of effort. Xiao Lin took a drag, smoke slowly escaping from his mouth: "Perhaps your Fourth Uncle is a formidable figure, but here, he’s just a person. As long as you’re human, you have fear. Everyone has weaknesses, even you, Moth. Finding those weaknesses isn’t difficult for me, only time and effort-consuming."
Hua Qingyi hadn’t spoken a word the whole time, fully believing Xiao Lin’s words, not because he’s part of Dragon Soul, but due to the massive power behind him. Finding someone wasn’t hard; the difficulty was Xiao Lin’s reluctance to use that power; he didn’t even want to possess it. In his eyes, others’ envy was probably like dirt!
"Your Fourth Uncle is not a god; he’s human, right!" Flicking ash into the tray, Xiao Lin pressed his hands on Moth’s arms, his forehead leaning against Moth’s, staring directly into his eyes: "You’re not a god either. Even without you, I can enter that valley. But you might become the first one delisted from Dragon Soul’s wanted list due to death. Let me tell you, those on Dragon Soul’s list are regarded highly by Dragon Soul."
Moth fell silent, very familiar with Dragon Soul. During his special forces service, he was nearly recommended into Dragon Soul but ended up excluded due to an official’s offspring, not because that offspring was incompetent; on the contrary, he was very capable. Under equal conditions, when there was only one spot, family background became the sole criterion. Moth, due to his life background and birth, failed to enter Dragon Soul, and held resentment towards it. Dragon Soul is every soldier’s dream and its existence incites fear, symbolizing power there.
"You can kill me now."
Alas! Xiao Lin sighed, looking at Moth with a hint of regret: "Ending a life with a knife or a gun is tedious." He drew a Silver Needle, heating it over a lighter: "I guess you haven’t laughed much in your life!"
"What? Hahaha!" Moth suddenly felt a sting somewhere, laughing maniacally like a madman: "You... hahaha, to me... to me... what did you do?"
Xiao Lin looked innocently at him, a slightly guilty expression making Moth want to kill him: "I just clicked your laughter acupoint. Never laughed before, now take this joyful laugh to Hell! Once there, you might never laugh again. If you don’t want to die, I might help you a bit." (To be continued.
