Chapter 353 - 332: Do I Have Another Choice?
CHAPTER 353: CHAPTER 332: DO I HAVE ANOTHER CHOICE?
"That’s because Fourth Master holds me in such high regard."
"How about this? You can take Lian, but I want you to leave behind the Nine Dragons Divine Needle and the secret cultivation technique of the Nine Dragons True Qi."
"Fourth Master truly understands me inside out." Xiao Lin couldn’t help but mock.
"You must know that just these two things on the Military Doctor are already enough to drive people crazy."
"That puts me in a dilemma, Fourth Master." Xiao Lin showed a helpless expression: "It’s not that I don’t want to give them to anyone, it’s just that these two are solely for male cultivation and are not suitable for women."
Xiao Lin wasn’t lying about this; the Nine Dragons True Qi is based on a man’s robust masculine energy. Women belong to the yin, and cultivating this technique would lead to blood flow reversal and death due to inability to withstand it.
"Fourth Master is a woman; cultivating this technique..."
"There’s no need for the Military Doctor to worry about that. Fourth Master rose from the soft crown seat, a clear expression passing over her beautiful face. She stepped lightly to Xiao Lin’s front, hooking her hands around his neck: "There’s an ancient method in China. I wonder if the Military Doctor has heard of it."
"Please enlighten me!"
"Zhu Gu!"
When Fourth Master uttered these two words, Xiao Lin abruptly jumped back a step. He had heard of ’Zhu Gu’; it is a type of witchcraft that spread during the Jin merchant era.
"It seems the Military Doctor is quite familiar with this. Since that’s the case, there’s no need for me to elaborate on the details. I’m sure you know how complex the procedure is."
"I know it, but I never agreed to do it! Besides, no one would be foolish enough to hand over their marrow and blood to someone else!"
"Heh heh!" Fourth Master indifferently returned to her soft crown seat, smoking her cigarette: "Not everyone is willing, but you have no choice."
Fourth Master drew open the curtain, revealing Lian before Xiao Lin, her eyes blankly staring off into the distance: "What did you do to her?" Xiao Lin’s tone involuntarily grew colder, as he was only a few steps away from her.
"Can’t the Military Doctor see?" Fourth Master confidently walked to Lian’s side, picking up a small strand of her hair to smell lightly at the tip of her nose.
"The needle on her acupoint, did you insert it?" Xiao Lin looked directly into Fourth Master’s eyes, finding no difference between her pretty face and a viper.
"I don’t have the ability. But how did you know?" Fourth Master was curious; from start to finish, the Military Doctor hadn’t touched Lian, making it impossible to discern this.
"Fourth Master, I told you not to push me."
"No one is pushing you here; you just need to make a choice."
Xiao Lin let out two chuckles, passed Fourth Master, and knocked two big men to the ground with a single move: "That’s my answer."
"Just worthless scraps, nothing more." A tuft of Lian’s hair fell to the ground: "Oriental hair is very soft; it’s quite challenging to keep it so long."
"If you dare touch a single strand of her hair again, I’ll make you suffer a fate worse than death."
"Oh, really? Isn’t it rumored that the Military Doctor never kills women?" Fourth Master doubtfully raised another tuft of Lian’s hair and played with it in her hand: "I really want to see how you plan to make me suffer a fate worse than death."
As the scissors dropped, the sight of the cut hair turned Xiao Lin’s eyes red. Without warning, he appeared in front of Fourth Master, and in the blink of an eye, the scissors were already stabbing into Lian’s neck: "Are you faster, or am I?"
Facing Xiao Lin, Fourth Master chuckled, both of them sensing each other’s breathing: "If you care about her so much, just accept ’Zhu Gu’; I won’t let you die."
"In your dreams!" Xiao Lin didn’t even glance at Lian; his eyes only focused on Fourth Master, believing that if looks could kill, Fourth Master would be dead many times over.
"Truly lacking appreciation, wasting her years of love for you!"
"What?" Xiao Lin hesitated at the sudden words Fourth Master spoke.
"Ah, you didn’t know? Foolish woman, how could someone pursue a person through secret admiration." Fourth Master’s eyes roved, glancing at Xiao Lin: "For something you desire, you must spare no expense in obtaining it, and what I want is you."
Seemingly feeling pain, Lian let out a cry of agony, blood trickling from the wound, a shocking sight: "Fourth Master?" Her beautiful eyes looked at Fourth Master, who held the scissors piercing herself, confused: "Why?"
"Not a waste to have spent so much money on you; it’s time to collect some interest." Fourth Master grabbed Lian off the chair, though appearing small, her strength was great, and dealing with the now limp Lian was as easy as catching a chicken: "Make a choice, Military Doctor, or the mountain crevice will soon have another ghost."
Xiao Lin believed Fourth Master would do what she said. He dared not approach; just a slight push, and Lian would be thrown into the mountain crevice, faster than he could react. He didn’t know how deep the crevice was, so he dared not gamble.
"So, Military Doctor, you don’t have much time to consider."
"Heh, do I have a choice?" Xiao Lin’s face showed a bitter smile; in such circumstances, Xiao Lin seemed to have no choice.
"Hmm, that’s more obedient!" Fourth Master once again revealed a pure smile like a young girl, her tone becoming much more amiable.
"What do you want me to do?" Xiao Lin furrowed his brow and asked.
"There’s a box over there, open it." Fourth Master pointed to an object covered with a black cloth.
"The medical team that went to Temple Village was you guys too, right?" Pulling away the black cloth, several silver metal boxes appeared before him.
"We don’t know about that. We’ve sold these kinds of boxes to many people. As long as they buy the serum from us, they’ll have these boxes."
Fingers touched the metallic casing, the exquisite craftsmanship seemed out of place in this base. He didn’t see any laboratories or cultivation rooms here.
He snapped open the lock of one of the boxes, inside was a set of exquisite glassware, along with a complete set of medical collection tools.
"These things aren’t unfamiliar to a doctor, are they?" Fourth Master rubbed Lian’s head. She was indifferent to Lian’s tears: "We start with the blood!"
Xiao Lin said nothing more. He picked up the knife from the box and made a gentle cut on his arm’s vein, inserting the end of a tube with a needle. He clenched his fist, and soon, red blood began to slowly flow from his body, trickling through the tube into the glass bottle on the other end.
"What a beautiful color." Fourth Master became excited as she watched the deep red enter the bottle.
Empty pupils stared at the bottle as well, the red striking, the red dazzling, also red and profound. Lian tilted her head, a flicker of light in her eyes extinguished in an instant.
Xiao Lin looked expressionlessly at his blood flowing from his body to the bottle, then shifted his gaze to Fourth Master, a curve appearing at the corner of his mouth.
Suddenly, Lian let out a scream, and Xiao Lin pulled out the needle and leapt to her side, supporting her head, as a stream of blood tears flowed from the corner of her eye.
Xiao Lin frowned tightly, hesitating for a moment before reaching his fingers towards Lian’s forehead.
"You’ll kill her like this." Fourth Master cradled the bottle, busy pouring the blood from the tube into it.
With a thunderous roar, the entire glass shattered into pieces, scattering on the ground and splashing all around.
"What happened?" Fourth Master barked mechanically.
"Fourth Master, someone blew up the ammunition depot." Someone rushed in from outside: "And there’s another group who has crossed the first checkpoint, their identity unknown."
"Military Doctor, I didn’t expect you to have such preparations." Fourth Master suddenly turned to Xiao Lin, letting out a cold snort: "I could have spared you, but now you must die."
Fourth Master extended her left hand toward Xiao Lin, instinctually making a defensive stance, but who knew her target was Lian. Whatever method she used, Lian was lifted into the air, flying toward Fourth Master.
"Telekinesis!" Xiao Lin couldn’t help but shout out, but in a hesitant moment, Lian was already in Fourth Master’s hands.
"General!" Xiao Lin tried to rush over, caught by a strong hand, and in that moment lost sight of Lian.
"Don’t stop me!" Xiao Lin tried to shake off Miao Shaoqing behind him, but the latter fiercely dragged him outward.
"This place is about to explode, the ammunition depot is right below this building." Miao Shaoqing stubbornly pulled Xiao Lin out the window, leaping off and rolling to the side.
"Find them! Fourth Master took Lian." Xiao Lin shouted urgently, his voice filled with a choking sensation. He had been too arrogant.
Another explosion, several off-road vehicles roared from a distance, rocket launchers from the cars landed among the crowd like ghosts, cries rose up, blood splattered.
Xiao Lin looked around, unable to find Fourth Master’s shadow, the mountain seemingly engulfed in flames.
"There!" Miao Shaoqing suddenly pointed to a distant mountain path.
Xiao Lin looked in the direction she pointed. If not for the flames lighting up the entire valley, such a hidden path would be hard to find.
Looking from below, it was like a black twisted serpent, spiraling up the mountain, with two white shadows moving along the path.
"Chase!"
"Bro!" An off-road vehicle suddenly stopped in front of Xiao Lin, Hua Qingyi jumped out of it, holding a heavy machine gun.
As he arrived, several more vehicles stopped beside him, getting off were unfamiliar faces. From their aura, these people weren’t Dragon Soul members, even if Dragon Soul had received word, they couldn’t have arrived so quickly.
"Where are these people from?"
"Borrowed from Hassan." Hua Qingyi grinned at Xiao Lin. There was no need to ask, it was clear there were unspeakable dealings behind the scenes. Xiao Lin didn’t care. He never meddled in the dark affairs of the Hua family in politics.
"Give me the gun." Xiao Lin couldn’t stay any longer, his body white shadow, nearly at the mountaintop.
"Aren’t you without your..." Before the words fell, Xiao Lin’s figure was already gone. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, feel free to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets on Qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
