Chapter 65 - 60 Bold Thoughts
CHAPTER 65: CHAPTER 60 BOLD THOUGHTS
There came a very noisy sound from the other side, followed by Xia Xue’s somewhat slurred voice, asking Xiao Lin if he was still outside or something. It seemed she had drunk quite a bit. Xiao Lin told Xia Xue that he happened to be at the Galaxy Mall, preparing to have a late-night snack, and would probably take a while before heading back.
Xia Xue then instructed Xiao Lin to call her before going back so they could return together. Xiao Lin agreed. It seemed Xia Xue wanted to say something more, but someone called her name on the other line, and she quickly hung up.
Xiao Lin looked at his phone speechlessly, thinking what kind of situation is this? How come it feels like he’s become Xia Xue’s chauffeur? But then he thought of how her voice was already slurred on the phone, she must have drunk a lot, or maybe even got drunk before calling him. Despite what he said, there was still a tiny bit of pride deep in his heart, thinking that Xia Xue thought of him when she got drunk.
"Brother Military Doctor, was that call from your sister-in-law?" Xun Xiangxiang laughed as she noticed Xiao Lin’s gentle tone when he answered the phone.
"You little girl, what are you guessing!" Xiao Lin patted Xun Xiangxiang on the head, treating her completely like a little kid.
This time, Xun Xiangxiang was not too happy, so she followed Liang Feng and the others into the elevator, saying, "Brother Xiao Lin, I’m not a child anymore; I’m a young girl now!" After saying that, she even puffed up her chest. If judged by her chest alone, Xun Xiangxiang was indeed more developed than the other seven girls present; it’s unclear how her age-inappropriate bust developed that way.
Xiao Lin helplessly smiled, and Lin Cheng teased Xun Xiangxiang from the side, saying, "Xiangxiang, if my baby face were replaced by yours, then you’d be the legendary one indeed!"
Poof!
Almost everyone couldn’t help but burst into laughter. This doll was truly formidable. Liang Feng looked at the doll speechlessly and said, "Doll, this name really suits you!"
Doll was not bothered and instead felt proud, saying, "Isn’t that right? I haven’t said anything wrong!"
"By the way, Sister Liang, you haven’t introduced these handsome guys yet!" As the laughter in the elevator died down and the atmosphere became lively, Lin Liwen appropriately reminded Liang Feng to introduce Xiao Lin.
Liang Feng then realized she hadn’t introduced Brother Xiao Lin to her sisters yet, so she smiled and said, "If Liwen hadn’t mentioned it, I would have forgotten. This is my brother Xiao Lin, a military doctor, but now he’s working back in Yanjing. Oh, Brother Xiao Lin, where are you working now?"
"Yan University Hospital, just started a few days ago!" Xiao Lin replied.
At this time, Lu Dan widened her eyes and looked at Xiao Lin, seemingly surprised, and asked, "Brother Xiao Lin, could you be the legendary Golden Needle Saint Hand I’ve been hearing about on campus these days? The handsome doctor who used the golden needle to rescue the girl from our dorm who jumped off a building?" Lu Dan was in the same dormitory building as the girl who jumped but did not have a clear view that day.
"Golden Needle Saint Hand?" Xiao Lin didn’t know he had gained such a title on campus and chuckled, saying, "I dare not claim that title, but indeed, it was me and my colleagues from the department who went to rescue her that day. If it were just me, I might not have saved her. By the way, how is that girl’s condition now?"
"Brother Xiao Lin, it was really you! I was wondering why you looked so familiar; turns out it was you. That girl is now out of danger, her life is saved, and she’s currently hospitalized, but I heard her recovery is going well!" Lu Dan, being in the same dormitory building, naturally knew more than the other sisters.
After a round of chit-chat, Xiao Lin also helped introduce the group to Xiang Fei and others. The atmosphere was rather congenial, and since Loneliness and Moon were also from Yanjing University, having just graduated a year ago, they were senior sisters of Liang Feng and the group, making their relationship naturally closer.
Xun Xiangxiang transferred to Yanjing just last year and is now in her second year at Yanjing University’s affiliated high school, also considered a privileged child.
After exiting the elevator, Xun Xiangxiang took a call, then handed the phone over to Xiao Lin, feeling a bit annoyed, saying, "Brother Military Doctor, it’s Brother Chopin calling; he wants to talk to you!"
Xiao Lin took the phone; it turned out that Chopin had returned home and was calling to check on Xiao Lin’s situation. Xiao Lin briefly recounted the incident at the police station and thanked Chopin. Chopin was very modest, and after exchanging pleasantries for a while, they ended the call.
The group grandly arrived at the twelfth floor, where there were three halls: two with different themed restaurants and another that Xiangxiang mentioned, a newly opened late-night snack place. Xun Xiangxiang, familiar with the venue, led the group to the new restaurant. The seating rate was over ninety-five percent, with only a few seats in the peripheral corners visible from afar.
Xun Xiangxiang seemed to be very familiar with the place. Upon entering, a waiter came to greet them. Xun Xiangxiang simply said, "We’d like a private room!" The waiter respectfully led Xun Xiangxiang to the back to the private room.
Liang Feng was a bit surprised to see Xun Xiangxiang. Although Xun Xiangxiang was also a member of the Fei Feng Gang in Yanjing, Liang Feng had never inquired about her background before, knowing only that her family seemed to have some wealth, evident from her luxurious dressing and generous spending. Yet, she didn’t expect Xun Xiangxiang to be so well-known here, implying she often dined here.
Liang Feng, experienced in society, knew that a late-night snack city opened in such a location must have a certain status, catering to white-collar and above clientele. Judging by the hall’s seating rate, the private rooms were likely full. However, Xun Xiangxiang could get a private room as soon as she arrived, clearly showing she was familiar with the place.
"Xiangxiang, do you often eat here?" Moon also noticed. She met with Xun Xiangxiang for dinner last night, and Xun Xiangxiang insisted on paying, though Moon threatened her with her personality, stating that if she let a young girl pay, she wouldn’t have the face to stay in the guild.
"Not very often, but I know the owner here, so even if the private rooms are full, I can still get one. In places like these, they usually reserve two to three private rooms for backup!" Xun Xiangxiang replied in a pseudo-mature manner.
After entering the private room, Xun Xiangxiang asked the waiter to bring a few menus, distributing them while saying, "Feel free to order anything; if it weren’t for you all helping tonight, I’d probably not have the chance to sit here for a late-night snack. Dinner’s on me today, and don’t anyone fight me for it, or I’ll be mad!"
