Chapter 83: Darkseid War VII

    The assimilation of the new characters didn''t take long, roughly 2 minutes or so. The

    knowledge and power she gained was rather minimal in comparison to the previous ones, but they were useful nonetheless.

    Gwen had teleported back to Metropolis, in order to check on the team.

    Within the ten minutes of arriving in the city, she had gotten several more quest notifications. Mostly ones that were part of other quest chains, as well as a new one that caught her eye.

    Step 1-10,000 Aliens defeated = 10 UL Tickets.

    Step 2 - 25,000 Aliens defeated = 15 UL Tickets.

    Furies no more

    Details - Defeat (kill) the furies, Lashina, Gilotina, Stompa, Mad Harriet, and Bernadeth. Big Barda, a member of the Furies, has instead been captured, but still contributes to this quest. Rewards - 75 UL Tickets

    Turns out her Legion was even stronger than she thought, and the furies were a lot weaker than she expected. That, and they were in groups of more than 10 at least. And when you have such large groups of powerful soldiers that could fight against even the strongest League members, you get a rather overwhelming fighting force, especially for the furies who weren''t really all that powerful either way.

    Standing on top of a building within Metropolis, Gwen looked over the amount of UL tickets she had gotten, before thinking.

    ''Turn all of them into NL tickets and claim'' Gwen thought, knowing better than to save those up in a situation like this.

    ''Seems my legion is working excellently'' Gwen thought, pleased. She knew that now that most of Darkseids elite were dead (or captured in Barda''s case) the man himself would be appearing. And with him Desaad and Granny Goodness would most likely be. The two were basically his right and left hands, so it was only natural that''s where they''d be.

    "Darkseid''s other son, and another of his elite have been taken out" Gwen said, as she received word that their bodies have been safely taken to the location that she chose to hold them at. In the off chance that they survived, there was 25 legion soldiers waiting, and

    watching.

    "Wow...you''re doing more in 30 minutes than we were able to do in an entire week" Wally said, as the team began to realize just how efficient Gwen''s legion truly was. They were all created to overwhelm their foes, giving them no chance of fighting back. Or in the case of Darkseids forces, very little chance of fighting back.

    "I created the legion in the off chance something like this happened. They''re pretty much made to be the last line of defense in the case the League fails. So don''t feel bad that they''re working so well already" Gwen responded, knowing that the group was probably feeling really embarrassed at the moment, as she really was already wiping the invaders out, giving them little chance to fight back properly.

    Once Darkseid appeared, she planned on stopping any chance of more parademons coming, courtesy of a very special weapon.

    "So where should we go next, now that we wiped out the invaders here?" Conner asked, as

    Gwen replied.

    "Hmm, probably Go-" Gwen stopped mid sentence, as she felt...him.

    Her head snapped to the right, as she breathed in deeply.

    "Gwen? What''s wrong?" Artemis asked, as Gwen looked to them all, and then to the distance, where a dark glow emanate from, as figures slowly began to step out of a boomtube.

    "He''s here...Darkseid has arrived"

    The next chapter will be the beginning of the final battle, as well as the beginning of some seriously important events happening. It''ll also be the most action packed chapters I''ve created like...ever lol. Afterall...Darkseid doesn''t fall easily, and won''t be like the others. The action won''t truly begin for 2 chapters, the next one will just be the very beginning of it, and

    will have more talking than anything.
