SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God
Chapter 363: Plans
CHAPTER 363: PLANS
"With your permission, I will not simply manage your ledgers, I will create a network of spies to work for you, spread all over this continent. There wouldn’t be anything happening in this world without coming to your attention."
Damon grinned. Even he hadn’t thought about this. It looked like choosing her was the right decision after all. "Alright. Want to become my follower on a trial basis?"
After glancing at Varnyx again, Malia silently nodded. "I am willing to serve you, my Lord."
Damon saw that exchange and he could tell that the woman only accepted his request because of Varnyx. It was fine. He did not care. He opened his system interface and entered her details. Immediately a system prompt flashed in front of him and at the same time in front of Malia.
The whole process was finished in an instant. Damon then proceeded to open up the Blood Hall system interface and selected many things starting with the barracks and the training areas.
Aiden had supplied him with a lot of extra money and he planned to put it to good use. The bastard probably thought that the whole transaction would end up being a leash around Damon’s neck.
Aiden clearly knew the nuances in managing the Blood Hall which was probably why he even reassured him that he had no plans to meddle with the Blood Hall wars. Managing a dark faction city smack dab in the center of the light faction territory was simply a big money drain.
Even the super guilds wouldn’t be able to handle such a strain. Damon would only end up needing more and more and more gold coins in the future and when that time comes, he would have no other choice except to come to Aiden again.
He would indirectly become dependent on him and end up becoming his lackey. However, he had miscalculated many things.
Damon might not have the backing of the super guilds but what he had was knowledge of the future, something which no one else had. Besides, he never planned for the Blood Hall to be the only dark faction base in this territory.
He flipped open his messages to check for Necro God, to see if that kid had reached out to him at all. But nope. No messages whatsoever.
Well, that alliance was probably a dead end. It did not matter. Damon still had a couple more players in mind he could reach out to and provide support for starting other dark faction bases nearby.
If not then he would personally handpick someone and build them from ground up. He had the ability to do so. But that was a concern for a while later. The next Blood Hall battle was about to happen in 4 days and he needed to prepare for that first.
Damon quickly selected the many infrastructures available and each time he finalized a building, a chunk of gold disappeared from his account.
Gold bled away like water through open hands, the system confirming each deduction with a crisp chime that echoed in Damon’s ears. He sat back in the throne, watching the numbers shrink on his treasury panel.
He let out a sigh, feeling the bleed. Just a while ago, he was filthy rich and now he was slowly inching back to bankruptcy. It was fine. It was all an investment.
Barracks, training grounds, smithies, alchemy labs, auction houses, plazas, all of them queued for construction, their faint outlines already shimmering into being across the ruined expanse of Niera. The system’s projections showed ghostly blueprints rising from rubble, skeletal structures humming with mana as workers and constructs began to take shape.
"Its done. The buildings should be up and running in the next several hours." Damon finally nodded, finishing up all the process.
Varnyx and Malia exchanged a glance from the side of the hall.
Damon did not say anything about this. As long as the two of them worked well, he did not care. "Both of you oversee everything and report to me if there are any issues. We can discuss further details later when everything is up and running but I hope you can handle everything by yourself without involving me for every little thing."
"Yes, my Lord." Both Varnyx and Malia bowed. The two then hurriedly left the throne room and went about to take care of their business.
Damon looked at his account again. 500 million gold coins gone. Just like that. He looked at Erin whose eyes were always locked onto him, observing him like a hawk, well a snake. "Erin, maybe you will like this. The useless things you gave me are helping me rebuild this city."
Erin smiled lightly. "I am glad, my Lord." She did not seem to care much about it. Damon chuckled. If it was Ellora, that vixen would have definitely made sure to let him know just how much of her contribution it was but Erin was very different in many ways.
Damon stood up and stretched. His work in the Blood Hall was pretty much done for the time being. Next would be the big day, the day the war would begin.
But before that, he had some other important matters to take care of. Damon grinned as he created a portal to a small city in the neighbouring kingdom.
The small city on the other side of the portal was no random choice. It had a smithing academy and produced many famous blacksmiths. Damon, however, was not here to meet the talented top students of this academy.
Rather he wanted to meet three failures in particular. These three failures in the future would grow to become the pillar of support for this entire kingdom, the three renowned blacksmiths. All the super guilds would be fighting with each other to precisely recruit these three guys, to poach them from the King himself.
Now Damon was ahead of all of them.
