CHAPTER 114: MONSTER ARMY INFECTS THE MONSTER WORLD

Hearing Ainsworth’s command, the S-rank Blackflame Rocs and other monsters that could fly immediately headed to the skies and started spreading the monster virus.

The least Ainsworth wanted was for him to attract the attention of SSS-rank Demon Kings or cause the slumbering SSS-rank Monster King to wake up.

It wasn’t out of cowardice but merely them being troublesome for him to deal with at this stage.

After destroying the SS-rank Dimensional Gate, Ainsworth activated Unremarkable Presence (SS) to hide his presence and then used his invisibility superpower to make himself invisible.

With his preparations completed, Ainsworth leisurely lay on top of a hundred-meter-tall tree and decided, ’Unless my monster army encounters an SS-rank Monster Lord or stronger beings, I’ll just take a nap here and let them do all the work.’

’With their current speed, it won’t be long until the monster virus will be deeply rooted in the Monster World. When that happens, there will be a monster virus outbreak that even those SSS-rank Demon Kings wouldn’t be able to solve even if they eliminate all the monsters.’

According to Ainsworth’s plan, his monster army wouldn’t just travel around the world to infect monsters. They would also contaminate the flora and environment of this world with the monster virus.

But so far, his monster viruses could easily stay in volcanoes, magma, water, or any terrain in this world. Under his control, they could even absorb the mana and aura in the Monster World and multiply even without a host!

Due to the nature of his virus, as long as one of his monsters contaminates an ocean, even with just one monster virus, all creatures living in that ocean will inevitably be infected with the monster virus if given enough time.

Ainsworth’s plans all revolved around infecting even the Monster World itself with the monster virus and not just its monster inhabitants. When that happens, then this world will truly be beyond saving and will inevitably become his backyard.

Ainsworth was well aware of the weakness of monsters. Like Awakeners who were reliant on classes, monsters were reliant on bloodlines.

As soon as a monster was born, its bloodline determined its starting power and upper limit.

Newborn dragons were as powerful as A-rank Awakeners as soon as they were born.

They were born with the power that others couldn’t even achieve in their lifetime, whether it was among monsters or awakeners.

However, unlike monsters who were strictly capped by their bloodline, Awakeners didn’t have such problems. While Awakeners were limited by their classes, there were Class Rank Upgrade Cards that could upgrade their classes.

Furthermore, even if an Awakener wasn’t talented, as long as they were hard working and dared to risk their life, they’d be able to amass enough rewards from the Otherworld Mission to go above their limit.

The only thing that limited Awakeners was their fear of death. Because of that, some Awakeners who were even talented enough to reach SS-rank could only be stuck at A-rank due to their cowardice.

Because of that, even an Awakener with no perceivable talent and a trash background could become an SSS-rank Awakener if they dared risk their life in the Otherworld Mission. Of course, that was only if they had decent luck.

Luck was illusory, yet it determined whether one could overcome adversities without dying due to unforeseen circumstances. No matter how hard-working one was, if they had no luck on top of lacking talent, then they were as good as dead.

That’s why Luck stat attribute-enhancing resources were sought after by Awakeners since the profession of Awakeners was so dangerous and life-threatening.
