Chapter 116: SS-rank Leviathan
CHAPTER 116: SS-RANK LEVIATHAN
After using both Ultimate Freedom (SSS) and Freedom Of Speech (SSS), Ainsworth then used several superpowers to enhance the durability and sharpness of the green leaf.
Because of Ainsworth’s countless enchantments, a normal green leaf that he casually caught from the wind now possessed SS-rank attack power.
Instilling his monster virus into the green leaf, Ainsworth visualized hitting the head of the SS-rank Monster Lord.
Afterward, he decisively threw the green leaf into the skies!
As soon as the green leaf was thrown, it suddenly disappeared from his sight a second after it flew.
After he threw the green leaf, Ainsworth was no longer concerned about the SS-rank Monster Lord, so he returned to napping on the hundred-meter-tall tree.
...
Beneath the gray, storm-churned skies, a restless ocean stretched endlessly in all directions, its waves rising and crashing with the fury of an untamed beast.
The air was thick with salt and tension, as if the sea itself held its breath in anticipation. Deep within this remote part of the ocean, far from any continent or coastline, a battle was unfolding beneath the surface.
The once-serene depths had turned into a chaotic battlefield, where monstrous shapes moved with terrifying speed and power.
In this underwater war zone, sea monsters of A-rank and S-rank circled like vultures around a single colossal being—the SS-rank Leviathan.
The SS-rank Leviathan towered over the surrounding sea monsters, its massive form casting a shadow across the waves.
Its serpent-like body stretched for hundreds of meters beneath the ocean, covered in sleek, dark-blue scales that shimmered with a metallic sheen. Each scale was tougher than steel, and the countless A-rank and S-rank monsters that tried to pierce through them had their claws and fangs broken instead.
Its head resembled a cross between a dragon and a sea serpent, with long curved horns sweeping back along its skull and glowing azure eyes that radiated intelligence and dominance. Sharp fins jutted out along its spine, cutting through the water with each movement, and its tail alone was long enough to capsize a battleship with a single whip.
When it roared, the sea trembled. Waves rose in response, and the surrounding monsters instinctively backed off, as if the sound alone reminded them of the overwhelming gap between their ranks.
Despite being surrounded, the Leviathan barely looked concerned. Its armored body bore only light scratches, while many of its attackers already floated injured or unconscious in the churning sea.
This ocean was its territory, and it ruled it with absolute might.
Those sea creatures attacking the SS-rank Leviathan were none other than Ainsworth’s monster army. They weren’t the early members of his monster army, but those that have been infected with the monster virus by other monsters in his army.
However, they were no less loyal as the Hive Mind had fully assimilated them. All they could think of was fulfilling Ainsworth’s orders of infecting the entire Monster World with the monster virus.
Regardless of their lives, they tried to injure the SS-rank Leviathan and infect it with the monster virus, but to no avail. Even when they sacrificed their lives, they couldn’t penetrate the tough scales of this monstrous sea serpent.
The monster virus could be transmitted in almost any way, but that also depended on its carrier. For example, if these S-rank and A-rank sea monsters were up against weaker monsters, they merely had to release the monster virus waterborne and contaminate the sea water around them.
The power of the monster virus depended on its carrier, unless Ainsworth personally transmitted it or descended and possessed them instead.
Because of that, even when an S-rank sea monster had self-destructed, the SS-rank Leviathan showed no concern and could easily tank the damage. Even the monster virus strengthened by an S-rank monster’s self-destruction was easily brushed off by the SS-rank Leviathan’s mana.
The SS-rank Leviathan might not be capable enough to detect and know the existence of the monster virus. Still, its beastly instinct as an SS-rank Monster Lord had alerted it to be wary of these sea monsters attacking it.
So even when it couldn’t see or detect the monster virus, the SS-rank Leviathan was constantly using its mana to protect itself from an external invisible threat.
The monster virus released by the S-rank and A-rank sea monsters around the seawater couldn’t even bypass the SS-rank Leviathan’s mana protection.
Determining that they couldn’t deal with the SS-rank Leviathan no matter what, the S-rank sea monsters decided to contact their Lord God via the Hive Mind.
They had previously wanted to subdue the SS-rank Leviathan with their own power and make the Lord God proud of them. Alas, the gap between monsters was this big as they weren’t Awakeners who could fight across ranks.
After they were left helpless and could only notify their Lord God, the sea monsters didn’t give up yet and continued attacking the SS-rank Leviathan to at least delay it.
They knew that compared to their lives, an SS-rank Monster Lord was far more valuable. So, they sacrificed their lives to prevent the SS-rank Leviathan from escaping.
What angered the SS-rank Leviathan the most was that it couldn’t even bite and devour the monsters as its instincts warned it that doing so would end up with its demise.
Because of that, it could only keep on attacking the sea monsters with ranged attacks and ensure to keep them away from it.
The sea monsters’ battle against the SS-rank Leviathan lasted for several more seconds, but soon enough, their message was replied to by their Lord God.
In the ocean depths, a green leaf suddenly appeared as if it ignored distance. This part of the ocean was a few continents away from where Ainsworth was, yet the green leaf appeared here in an instant after he sent it.
As soon as it appeared, it pierced through the head of the SS-rank Leviathan but didn’t penetrate any further. The tip of the green leaf injected the monster virus into the brain of the SS-rank Leviathan.
In just under a second, the SS-rank Leviathan was completely infected by the monster virus and became part of the Hive Mind, increasing Ainsworth’s subordinates!
