CHAPTER 118: QUALIFICATION FOR TRUE GOD STATUS

When Ainsworth heard the explosion resound throughout the Monster World, he soon felt waves of mana surge out from a faraway source. Yet, the abundant mana was perceivable even from where he was located.

"This quantity and quality of mana... did that slumbering SSS-rank Monster King awaken?"

"Who the fuck woke it up?"

Answering Ainsworth’s doubts, the Voice Of The World responded:

[Yes, the SSS-rank Monster King, an SSS-rank Ancient Space Dragon, has woken up from its slumber. As for why, it’s due to an SSS-rank Demon King waking it up and then pinning the blame on the SSS-rank Awakeners.]

[You should know that among the four SSS-rank Monster Kings, the SSS-rank Ancient Space Dragon is the strongest.]

[Unlike those three SSS-rank Monster Kings who needed to team up just to keep an SSS-rank Awakener occupied, the SSS-rank Ancient Space Dragon is even stronger than some SSS-rank Demon Kings.]

[The SSS-rank Demon Kings treat the entire Monster World as their subordinate world, and even those SS-rank Monster Lords and SSS-rank Monster Kings were inferior to them in status. However, the SSS-rank Ancient Space Dragon is an exception to that.]

[Except for those relatively powerful SSS-rank Demon Kings, most Demon Kings dared not offend the Ancient Space Dragon.]

Even when Ainsworth was just casually complaining about encountering another trouble, the Voice Of The World still answered his doubts.

Normally, the Voice Of The World wouldn’t bother responding to Awakeners unless it was during an Otherworld Mission. However, Ainsworth wasn’t the average awakener but an SS-rank Awakener.

Of course, even among most SS-rank Awakeners, the Voice Of The World wasn’t this subservient. It only acted like this to those SSS-rank Awakeners.

In other words, the Earth Will deem Ainsworth as an Awakener with the power and status of an SSS-rank Awakener despite not having the rank. Rather, it believed that it was only a matter of time for Ainsworth to reach it and even the ranks above it.

As a World Will who was inhuman, it didn’t possess pride, dignity, or self-worth.

While it wouldn’t lower itself to those who weren’t worthy, Ainsworth was clearly worth its investment. After all, if Ainsworth became powerful enough to the point he became a true god, it would be the Earth Will needing Ainsworth’s support.

So rather than currying favor when Ainsworth was already strong and no longer needed its assistance, it opted to become subservient to Ainsworth and treat him leniently even if Ainsworth hadn’t become a true god yet.

Only an X-rank Being was qualified to be called a True God.

In most worlds, SSS-rank Awakeners were enough to be called a God; same with SSS-rank Demon Kings being labeled as Demon Gods in weaker worlds.

However, SSS-rank beings weren’t truly gods yet. They were merely demigods who had touched the rules but hadn’t condensed a godhead or established a complete law/rule or Dao/Path.

No matter the power system, the entire multiverse had treated X-rank Beings as those who were qualified to be called True Gods, whether based on power, status, or life level.

Only True Gods were qualified to roam their respective universes and travel to other universes. Because of that, the Earth Will could only support an Awakener up to SSS-rank.

When an SSS-rank Awakener became an X-rank Awakener, they could easily break free from the Earth’s World Rules and leave on their own, no longer bothering about Otherworld Missions.

The Earth Will wasn’t powerful enough to support an existence at True God level, as True Gods could do what it could do. Whether it was invading a world and plundering world origin, True Gods were more than capable of doing that.

That’s why SSS-rank Beings were far too inferior to X-rank Beings. It wasn’t a matter of destructive power but more on the life level and comprehension of laws.

Of course, Ainsworth was unaware of that, and he didn’t know what Earth Will’s thoughts regarding him were.

Of course, his ignorance was merely because he didn’t care about the thoughts of the Earth Will, as he had enough confidence that he could deal with such troubles. And besides, he also knew that the Earth Will truly was a just and responsible World Will of Earth.

He knew that the Earth Will wouldn’t harm him unless it suffered from mental retardation. While he didn’t fully trust it, Ainsworth still wasn’t too wary of it as he had seen the Earth Will’s sincerity when it dared offer all the ownership of the Zombie Apocalypse World without even asking for any special conditions.

It didn’t even put forward a condition of replacing the Zombie Apocalypse World’s World Will with its own. Instead, Ainsworth was allowed full ownership of it, and even the World Will of the Zombie Apocalypse World was replaced by his own believers.

After Ainsworth received the Voice Of The World’s response, he knew what it meant.

"Those SSS-rank Demon Kings dared not offend it, yet they still dared wake it up from its slumber and pin the blame on Earth’s SSS-rank Awakeners. Truly worthy of being demons."

While showing his racism towards those abominable demons, Ainsworth didn’t underestimate.

In fact, he was already having a dilemma. He knew about the SSS-rank Ancient Space Dragon’s value as a powerful Monster King.

Those six SS-rank Monster Lords he subjugated paled in comparison to SSS-rank Ancient Space Dragon. Just its specialty in the space element was priceless, as it truly could save lives when retreating.

Since Ainsworth’s intentions of subjugating Monster Lords were just to use them as summoned beasts or guardian beasts for Elyndra and his future teammates, the SSS-rank Ancient Space Dragon was the cream of the crop among guardian beasts.

Even if it encountered an SSS-rank Being it couldn’t defeat, its space element allowed it to escape anytime, which greatly increased the survivability of Elyndra and his teammates if he were to give it to them.

However, doing so would be risky. But wise men knew that great rewards were accompanied by even greater risks.

’If I were to intercept the SSS-rank Ancient Space Dragon now, I might encounter the ambush of those Demon Kings. But, who said I have to meet them?’
