CHAPTER 124: AINSWORTH: AFTER I’M DONE WITH THIS, I’LL DATE HER

Traversing the void, Ainsworth soon arrived at the source of the explosion and mana surge.

When he arrived, he leisurely looked at the surroundings outside the void first. The vast expanse of snow-white hue blanketing the land made for a perfect spot to gaze at the stars at night.

’This seemed to be a great place to have a night walk with Elyndra.’

Although it was still daytime, Ainsworth believed so. He had already decided to invite Elyndra on a date with him, as he already had the confidence to date her.

Of course, whether he would confess his love to her and make her his girlfriend would depend on their first and subsequent dates.

No matter how much he felt about Elyndra, he wasn’t blind enough to see that it was all his delusions and impressions about her, especially when he based them on his memories from his past life.

Even if he felt that they had so much in common and was practically each other’s soul mate, Ainsworth wasn’t foolishly in love with her, and he still retained rationality.

When Ainsworth saw the familiar middle-aged man wearing a mage’s cloak, surrounded by multiple colorful elements, he immediately recognized him.

’Isn’t he the Archmagister Supreme, Lucien Arkvale? I remember seeing him on TV. He is very popular as he is the idol of those Awakeners who are interested in the path of magic.’

From what Ainsworth knew, the Archmagister Supreme was a very strong SSS-rank Awakener and even a capable ruler.

The Aetherian Dominion under the governing rule of the Council of Magi was doing very well, which proved the excellent leadership of Lucien and the Grand Magisters under him.

’It’s quite a novel feeling to see a world-renowned figure that I can only see on TV in person. To top it all off, that world-renowned figure is even being besieged by two Demon Kings and one Monster King.’

While Ainsworth thought so, he didn’t make a move yet.

’To ensure I can catch them off-guard, it’s best to attack when an opening is revealed.’

’For now, I can only inconvenience Lucien. It’s too risky to intervene in this battle, especially when they are all in their peak forms.’

’It’s better to wait until they are all exhausted and have lowered their guard. It’s best to deal with the SSS-rank Ancient Space Dragon first since its space element allows it to easily flee the battlefield. To prevent it from escaping, attacking it first would be ideal.’

With that thought in mind, Ainsworth stayed in the void while watching Lucien desperately defend himself from the two Demon Kings.

Even when Xalvureth used Death Grip to manifest an enormous dark-colored skeletal hand, Ainsworth merely scoffed, ’His death element isn’t as pure as my sister’s.’

And when the Demon King of Hellfire Varnak showed off his hellfire to melt Lucien’s ice spikes, Ainsworth shook his head, ’His fire control skill is too amateurish, not as good as mine.’

As a chef, Ainsworth disdained Varnak’s inferior fire control skill. If it were him who wielded Varnak’s hellfire, not only would the ice spikes be melted, but he could even burn Lucien’s magic barrier while bypassing Xalvureth’s Death Grip.

’No wonder Varnak didn’t assist Xalvureth. If he did, his inferior fire control technique would burn Xalvureth’s Death Grip. Truly a case of friendly fire.’

’However, it’s for the best. The weakness of my enemy only brings joy to me and my allies. At least this way, Lucien will only have to keep Varnak busy with the ice spikes and be able to delay Xalvureth even longer.’

Having such a thought in mind, Ainsworth continued observing them from inside the void.

Several more minutes had passed, and Ainsworth noticed that Lucien’s mana reserves were mostly depleted, with only 10% left, while his three enemies were faring better, still having 40% energy reserves left.

But even with that advantage, Ainsworth still shook his head, ’Not enough, it is risky. Dealing with them at this state can guarantee Varnak’s assimilation in the Hive Mind, but he isn’t as valuable as the SSS-rank Ancient Space Dragon.’

’The Ancient Space Dragon merely exhausted its mana reserves due to maintaining the space blockade, but its stamina isn’t affected. So, I still have to ask Lucien to bear with it and delay longer.’

With the God-Level Assassin talent, Ainsworth already obtained the experiences, knowledge, techniques, and anything related to assassins. That included the insight and discipline of an assassin, and he knew that as an assassin, he should only reveal himself when he was confident that his appearance would cause his target to be eliminated.

Ainsworth wasn’t worried about whether Lucien ever received major injuries. He admitted he was incapable of healing his sister’s blindness, as he had deduced that his skills as a part-time healer/doctor still weren’t enough to deal with it.

But, with Miracle Cell Reconstruction (SSS), it gave him the confidence that even if Lucien got his head severed and his heart crushed, it wouldn’t be a problem, even if he died.

After all, as long as the time of death wasn’t long, Miracle Cell Reconstruction could restore a corpse into a fully living body, and then he’d only have to use Ultimate Freedom (SSS) to stuff the dead soul back into it and thereby grant resurrection.

While Ainsworth thought so and was calm even after watching Lucien’s perilous situation, it wasn’t the same for the Earth Will, who immediately alerted him.
