CHAPTER 81: CHAPTER 0082: INFORMATION ON A NEW CELESTIAL GATE

After having a relaxing meal with Celine and her sister, Angel, Modret turned to look at the calm and composed Celine.

"We plan on entering a Celestial Gate. Anywhere we can find one close by?"

Celine pondered for a bit, briefly glancing at her sister, who was fast asleep on Modret’s bed.

"At the Nether Faction. You can obtain information about a Celestial Gate from them."

"I see. Thank you for your help," Modret said, truly grateful to the beautiful Celine.

Celine shrugged, then calmly stood up, walked to the bed, and picked up her sister.

"I’ll be leaving for the night. This was fun — we should try this some other time."

After she finished speaking, she began walking out of the room, then paused briefly, turning to Axel.

"Axel, you were nice company. You don’t have to be so stiff and rigid all the time... try to... have fun."

Axel looked up at Celine, who had a warm, inviting smile on her face, and briefly, Modret could see a light appear in Axel’s eyes.

It was as though the youth now had a goal to work toward aside from the usual calm exterior he displayed, without many dreams or aspirations.

Before he could reply, Celine had already slammed the door behind her lightly, leaving the two.

Axel remained frozen in place, countless thoughts flickering in his eyes as he glanced around.

"You don’t have to look so rigid, man," Modret slapped Axel’s shoulder jokingly.

Axel let out an exasperated sigh, then relaxed his shoulders and tried to act casual.

Modret smiled at this and shifted his attention internally to his last remaining shadow servant.

"Get information on a Celestial Gate in the surroundings for me."

"Yes, Master." A reply came a few minutes after Modret had given the order.

Time slipped by silently and gradually. After roughly an hour had passed, Modret finally received a reply.

"According to the news I obtained, there is a Celestial Gate located in the mountain region, and it is tightly guarded by more than 100 Galaxy Realm experts — with rumors of one being at a higher rank than that."

"Galaxy Realm? The leaders are really keeping a tight grasp on these Celestial Gates... however, taking into consideration that they haven’t completely dealt with the Celestial Gate, they most likely want to use this site to mine Celestial Cores."

Modret understood their intention, sneering internally.

"Good," he praised, disconnecting his connection to the shadow servant.

Modret turned to Axel, seeing him still glancing at the location where Celine had sat previously. He laughed. "Come, let’s head to the mountain region and clear a Celestial Gate. We’re out of Celestial Cores — they could come in handy at any time."

Axel raised his gaze to meet Modret’s, then agreed silently.

With that, both men left the inn through the back door, spread out their wings, and departed for the mountain region.

There was no need to ponder deeply — there was only one mountain region in this area, and it was one that Modret had seen during his many escapades with Angel.

He led Axel toward the location, and after passing through the foggy clouds of the mountainous terrain, their eyes were soon met with a tall mountain that spiraled outward.

It was roughly a few meters high, and at the top, Modret could faintly see an illusory brown light at its surface.

"A Celestial Gate..." he whispered.

Axel nodded, a sparkle flickering in his eyes as he stared silently at the gate located atop the mountain.

Suddenly, a loud shout interrupted the silence of the mountain.

"Intruders! State your purpose for coming here!"

Modret noticed that ahead of him, more than ten Galaxy Realm experts were rapidly approaching their location.

He frowned briefly, then shifted his attention to Axel and nodded.

"Don’t kill them."

Axel understood, and his figure immediately dispersed into a form of shadows.

It drifted casually toward the group of ten that was rapidly approaching.

"Wait! Guys! I can sense danger!" one of the men shouted, interrupting their movements.

But it was too late — a thick mist had already engulfed them.

This was one of the abilities Modret had given Axel. It expelled a massive toxin capable of causing a group of people to fall unconscious.

The moment they inhaled the poison, the men’s vision turned blurry, and before they could realize what was happening, they had fallen unconscious.

There was a brief silence as Axel confirmed that they had truly fallen unconscious.

"Come, let’s just enter the Celestial Gate. There’s no need to deal with the troubles here."

"Troubles? Hmph!" a deep voice filled with anger resounded, and from the distance, a man fully clad in armor approached their location.

Modret felt the man’s strength and realized it wasn’t inferior to the Celestial Beasts they had encountered previously back at the Endless Abyss.

The man stared at the group of ten that lay unconscious on the ground. As though he could sense their state, he let out a breath of relief.

Then he returned his attention to Modret. "You two came to this place owned by the City Lord — for what reason?"

Modret rubbed his head, feeling a headache.

"Axel, knock him out."

"You—" the man sounded dumbfounded, but he didn’t have time to think, as Axel had already reached his location, a sharp lightning spike racing through the air toward him.

"What? How terrifying..." the man could feel the destructive might of the lightning, strong enough to kill him.

He frowned and immediately raised his hand.

Mist spread, and the next moment, a waterfall appeared from midair, crashing toward Axel with devastating force.

At the same moment he used his ability, he also distanced himself from the location of the attack.

Axel was like a ghost, his figure dispersing into countless shadows as the water crashed onto him.

Gradually, the shadows coalesced and formed into Axel’s figure once more.

"You possess two abilities? What the hell?"

The man was shocked. However, recalling that Axel had used a poison ability on the group before, he realized it was actually three abilities.

’And he looks like the servant of that youth... then what level of strength has he attained?’

The man’s pupils constricted in terror as he stared intently at Modret, but without time to think too much about it, he could only place all his focus on his battle with Axel.

’Shadow Clone...’ Axel muttered internally.

Then shadows dispersed from his body, revealing two more Axels.

In the hands of one shadow clone crackled lightning.

In the hands of the other, a poison mist began spreading.

And wings sprouted from the third.

Modret rolled his eyes at the display. "Talk about aura farming..."
