CHAPTER 155: CHAPTER 155 REVEAL

Victoria stared at him for a long moment. Her mouth opened, but no words came out; she still couldn’t believe what had happened, even though it had happened in front of her.

"You’re lying," she finally said, but her voice lacked confidence. "You... you can’t use all types of magic. That’s impossible, maybe you used illusion, no I would have known when you first cast a fireball"

Roman didn’t respond. He just looked at her, he couldn’t begin to explain everything to her, but he was a little bit glad for telling Victoria.

With someone like Victoria on his side, he could have access to even more training material and learn everything across the board when it comes to magic.

She took a step back, still staring. "This... this doesn’t make sense. Only the founder—"

"—Was able to do it," Roman cut in. "I know."

Victoria’s eyes narrowed. "So are you saying you’re the next founder? When did you discover you could control all types of magic?"

"During the awakening ceremony, I also couldn’t believe it at first, but I could cast all types of magic, but I can’t use darkness magic, so maybe not all," Roman replied.

"Have you tried?"

"No, I haven’t...as you know I’m still a newbie when it comes to magic, but I should be able to do better in the future"

"That’s why you’re so eager to join the academy" Victoria spoke.

Roman looked up at the stars again.

Silence fell between them for a moment. The wind picked up, pushing his shirt slightly as he held it loosely in one hand.

Then Victoria spoke again, her voice lower.

"So no one knows about this, but why did you keep it hidden? If you had exposed this at the palace, there’ll be no need for the tournament in the first place, there’ll be no reason for you not to attend the academy, do you know what you can do with that ability?" Victoria spoke.

"When I was in the palace, I wasn’t any good at magic, and I couldn’t guarantee what would happen, so I kept it hidden. I also have my reasons for telling you. I want you to help me get stronger, strong enough to beat you," Roman spoke.

"You want me to train you to be strong enough to beat me, normally I would have said that’s impossible but it doesn’t look impossible to me, with summoning, illusion, elemental magic, and rune magic, most importantly rune magic, you can beat anyone"

"Before that, why do you want me to train you? What are you planning to achieve?"

"The demon lord, that’s my final goal" Roman replied.

Victoria stared at him like he had said the most insane thing, but the more she thought about it, the more sense it made to her.

If she were the one who possessed the ability to cast all types of magic, she wouldn’t be here defending the kingdom; she would lead the attack on the demon lord’s castle in Vernhall.

Victoria leaned back and sat down, she had created a chair made of shadow, and she crossed her legs.

"To be honest, I’m already thinking of a scenario where we defeat the demon lord. The whole problem about that is to reach the demon lord, but before that, I have something to tell you," Victoria spoke.

"To tell me?"

"When you were in the palace, something happened, the criminal group that attacked your village, the Blood Fang...we tracked them back to a dungeon where we fought, I went with Evelyn and Mary"

"But she lured us there because she knew we would be looking for her, and her plan worked, and she got a hold of an artifact," Victor spoke.

"An artifact, she stole it?"

"No, a new artifact, it was a staff, and the power it holds is unbelievable. Sonia, who’s the leader of the Blood Fang, is an S-rank mage, but with the artifact, she’s stronger than me and Evelyn," Victoria continued.

"We didn’t fight her to find out, but we could tell if we did, well lose...I don’t know if you noticed but the kingdom was under alert for some days, we thought she would attack Avalon or any of the other two kingdoms but no, she told us she’s going for the demon lord"

"She’s going to attack the demon lord, is she strong enough to do that?" Roman asked; he had tons of questions, but that was the first one he asked.

"I have no idea, but I just wanted to tell you, and also, if you can use all types of magic, do you think you can use any of the artifacts?" Victoria asked.

"I’ve also thought about it, I have no idea since it’s the artifact that chooses its user, but back to Sonia...how did she know there was an artifact there, and why did she lure you and Evelyn there?" Roman asked.

"I think the artifact already chose her, that’s why she was able to discover its location underground the dungeon, and after a certain amount of magical power has been used, she was able to destroy the ground, revealing the artifact. We still have no idea what it does," Victoria replied.

Ran sat down on the ground and sighed heavily, when he first arrived in this world, he was planning to live an easy life, then he decided to learn magic, and now it felt like there wasn’t enough time to do anything.

"So if I didn’t ask you, how were you planning to keep your ability hidden during the tournament and still use it to win?" Victoria asked.

"I was going to think of a plan, a good one, but I have a new plan"

"And what’s your plan?" She asked.

"You..." Roman replied.

Back in Vernhall, the demon generals were still gathered in the room waiting. They had been this way for almost an hour, but to them time meant nothing.

Still, they would rather be anywhere than here. The last time they all gathered like this was ten years ago, after which the dragon demon was told to attack Avalon, but she failed.

"I’m tired of waiting, I’m sleepy," Maze spoke, but suddenly the air in the hall changed.

The room, though already cold and silent, suddenly changed.

A sound echoed in the castle—a soft, steady click of footsteps.

They were quiet, but each step felt heavier than thunder, as if the weight of the world followed behind them.

The four demons at the table froze. Something deep inside them stirred—an old fear, a deep loyalty. Their hearts beat faster. Their instincts screamed but they knew what was coming.

They didn’t need to be told who it was.

They felt it in their bones.

The air turned colder, sharper. The dark mist swirling around the masked demon thinned and vanished completely.

Even the playful look on Maze’s face disappeared. The shapeshifter’s usual smile faded and immediately she transformed back into her original form.

A beautiful female with a single horn on her forehead, similar to Maze, her skin was purple, and she had a tail.

As they stood still, every muscle tense.

The footsteps grew closer. Slow, steady, calm—each one pressing into the cracked black floor of the castle like a warning.

A shadow appeared at the far end of the hall.

It was small. Almost too small, four of them turned towards the shadow.

From the darkness, a figure walked into the light.

She looked like a child, no more than ten years old. Her skin was pale as moonlight, smooth and flawless.

Her hair was white, long, and silky, trailing behind her like a soft wave. Her eyes were half-closed, but they glowed faintly, a dim red light that held no warmth.

She wore a long black dress that floated around her ankles.

Her bare feet stepped quietly across the stone floor, not making a sound—but the pressure in the room grew heavier with every step she took.

The shapeshifter, Maze, the masked one, and even the dragon demon all dropped to one knee before she reached the table. Heads lowered. No one dared to breathe to look up.

Even without speaking, her presence filled the entire room.

It was calm and terrifying, like standing beneath a still ocean that could crash down at any moment.

Her walk was slow, graceful, like a queen who had ruled for centuries. And she had.

This girl—no, this being—was the Demon Queen.

As soon as she reached the table, she sat down on one of the chairs, it was so big it covered her frame but she didn’t care.

"How have you all been" She spoke, and her voice alone was enough to cause cracks in the wall of the hall.

"We’re doing well" The masked demon answered, all four of them still on their knees.

"You can sit," She spoke normally this time, and the four of them sat down.

"I should be able to break the seal within months, so prepare yourselves, we’ll launch a full-scale attack on the entire world"
