Chapter 159 Successful
CHAPTER 159: CHAPTER 159 SUCCESSFUL
Roman watched the battle with a smile on his face, he was sure now that if he and Mira were paired up in the tournament, he would definitely win.
Even if she did tame the monkey, which was going to happen soon, Roman was still sure he was going to win.
First, Mira was an A-rank Mage, which means her growth would be limited, and as a summoner, having three summons fighting all at once, with two of them having elemental powers, would strain the mage.
Even with her Mana, she wouldn’t be able to last long if she used all three of her summons against Roman, coupled with the fact that his element was fire, which all the beasts were afraid of.
She would put in a good fight, but Roman was sure he would win. Reina, on the other hand, was totally different; her Mana was most likely twice the amount Mira had.
And her strongest summon, which Roman knows, was the horned wolf; and she’s able to share the traits of the wolf, just like Diana in the village. If she faced Roman, then he would have more difficulty dealing with her.
"She’s going to win, the monkey doesn’t have enough offensive power," Reina muttered beside Roman, and he shook his head.
The monkey settled on a boulder, it created, looking around. Its attack on Mira didn’t deal any damage, and the monkey could see it, so now it was looking for a way out.
"Alright," Mira said, wiping sweat from her forehead. "Let’s try again."
She tried again, but the monkey was focused mainly on the hawk and on escaping, but there was no escape. The monkey could sense there was a barrier around it, so it began jumping towards the end of the barrier to where the other students sat.
None of the students moved an inch; the barrier was rock solid, and they knew.
The monkey heard a screech as it reached the end of the barrier, and the hawk shot down towards it.
The boar and Mira were on the move as the monkey jumped from rocks, which it had in the air, and then an idea came to her.
She timed the monkey, and when it leaped towards the next floating rock, mud suddenly burst out from it as Mira was planning to catch the monkey, but instead the monkey waved its hand, stopping the mud and falling to the ground.
The moment the monkey touched the ground her plan was done.
As her hawk dove from above, she activated the chain binding spell again.
The moment it touched the ground, the chains wrapped around its landing spot.
The monkey landed and got caught immediately.
The chains coiled tightly around its arms and legs. It screeched and tried to break free, but this time the spell held strong.
"Now!" Mira shouted.
Her hawk flapped its wings hard and dove like a bolt of lightning. Its claws glowed with sparks of electricity. With a loud screech, it slammed into the monkey’s chest, sending a small shockwave through the room.
The monkey howled and fell, smoke rising from its fur. But it was still alive—just stunned.
Mira ran forward, panting. She placed both hands on the stunned monkey’s head, closed her eyes, and a small magic circle formed in her hands.
This was the part Roman had questions about. When Roman tamed his hawk, he just used his blood bind, and the system information came, but for other summoners, it wasn’t like that.
There was a link spell that had to be cast to bind the summon and the summoner completely.
Mira sat in front of the monkey for almost ten minutes with her eyes closed as the link spell had her complete focus, and finally, the spell was done.
Mira stood up, and the chains that wrapped around the monkey vanished. She placed her hands on the ground, and her last summon appeared, a small white dove, which climbed on top of the monkey, and a soft, glowing light covered it.
Soon, a round of applause was heard as the students clapped. This was customary after every successful taming.
Mira walked towards one of her friends who was also walking towards her.
The monkey finally sat up, still dazed from the hawk’s attack, but it wasn’t angry anymore or trying to attack anymore.
It blinked and tilted its head as it watched the small dove sit calmly on its shoulders. The soft healing glow made the pain ease away, and slowly, the monkey relaxed.
Mira gave the monkey a small smile. She could already feel the bond forming, even though it was still new.
The monkey wasn’t just powerful, it was smart and agile, and would be a great help to her.
"Good job," she whispered, placing a hand gently on its head.
Her friend reached her with a wide grin, handing her a wrapped cloth filled with fruits and meat, which Mira had already prepared in advance.
"Here," her friend said.
"Thanks," Mira said with a tired smile.
She crouched and unwrapped the food. Her hawk fluttered down and landed beside her, staring at Mira as she opened the clothes.
She handed a huge chunk of the meat to the hawk. The hawk grabbed it and flew to a wall nearby with no one around.
The boar came next, snorting happily. She gave it fruits and a few chunks of meat too, and it sat beside her munching loudly.
Then she turned to the monkey.
She held out a mix of fruit and meat as she had no idea what one of them would like.
The monkey hesitated, sniffed it, then slowly took the food. It didn’t eat right away. It stared at Mira first, then at the boar nearby.
Seeing them eat calmly must’ve made them relax. Finally, it sat and began to eat, its tail swaying behind it.
"Welcome to the team," Mira whispered, petting the monkey’s head.
"A wonderful addition, though not as good as mine" Reina spoke with a smile as she and Roman walked towards Mira.
