Chapter 161 Morning
CHAPTER 161: CHAPTER 161 MORNING
"You do know there’s a possibility of you fighting tomorrow, you really want to train so late at night, resting is just as important," Roman said as he stopped.
"I know, but I won’t feel comfortable if I don’t train. Also, I should get this out: if we meet in the tournament, I’m not going to hold back," Ava spoke.
"Of course, your family would be there...why should you even hold back? Your aim should be to win the tournament, just like everyone else," Roman replied.
"If I do win, you’ll have to drop out of the academy...and ultimately I’ll have to drop out too"
"What gave you the impression that you’re going to win?" Roman spoke with his face expressionless, causing Ava to be surprised.
"You’ve seen me fight, do you possibly think you can win me one-on-one?" Ava asked with a chuckle.
"There’s no doubt in mind, currently among the class 1 students, there’s no one stronger than me right now, having more Mana doesn’t mean you’re stronger" Roman muttered as he turned around and began walking away.
Ava stopped her training as she watched him walk away. She couldn’t believe Roman was this confident about winning her. Roman had seen her fight, and she was sure she would win, but Roman’s confidence was a little scary.
Roman walked towards the dorm, since it was night, he was going straight to sleep, his stomach was filled, and he was in perfect condition.
Another thing that gave him that amount of confidence was that among all the girls, he had more battle experience. Sure, it wasn’t a life-or-death experience, but Victoria was cruel when training him.
Roman had taken more beatings in these few weeks than most of the girls, with Victoria training him both in magic and physical combat.
Roman pushed the door to his room open and lay on the bed. In his mind, he was just playing possible scenarios of what could happen during the tournament.
’What if I use the entirety of my abilities in front of all the nobles and the Royal family, what could possibly happen?’ Roman asked himself.
Roman stared at the ceiling, the moonlight shining faintly through the window. His mind just wouldn’t settle.
If he used all his spells in the tournament, his real strength, not just his fire spells, what would happen?
The nobles would definitely be surprised. The Royal family, too, but what would happen after that?
He turned to his side.
’Would they be surprised? This might give them even more reasons for me to stop the academy, I’m already precious and I’m making myself even more precious’
He couldn’t afford to lose the tournament, but what if he was pushed to the edge?
He might have to go all out, especially if he fought Ava or Aurelia which would definitely happen. Holding back might cost him everything.
Roman sighed and closed his eyes. No matter what, he had to win. That was the only way to stay.
Roman closed his eyes, but the next moment the door opened and Ava walked in. She went towards her bed and climbed on.
"I thought you were training?" Roman asked.
"I listened to your advice, I should rest so I’ll be able to give my all, but you know, there’s something else we can do to..."
"We’re not having sex" Roman answered the next moment.
"That wasn’t what I wanted to say"
"Alright, what did you want to say?" Roman asked.
"I don’t want to say anything anymore. Why would you think anything I want to say is about sex, huh?"
"Because I’ve never seen someone who likes sex more than you, I still haven’t forgotten the time you came into me, middle of the night, you remember that?"
"I’ve already told you I’m sorry, and besides, we ended up having sex, and Reina likes having sex more than I do; she told me all about when both of you were still in your village," Ava spoke.
"Good night, Ava, tomorrow is an important day," Roman muttered as he turned to his side and closed his eyes.
Soon Roman drifted off to sleep.
.
.
.
Roman’s eyes opened, and he moved his body, changing his position to continue sleeping, but his eyes went towards the window, and it was bright outside.
Roman’s body jerked upward as he blinked his eyes several times; to him, it felt like only a minute had passed since he closed his eyes, but it was already morning.
Ava also wasn’t in bed, and Roman climbed down. It wasn’t even dark; it was totally bright outside, and he opened the door, seeing Reina standing beside her door. The door was open, but no one was inside.
"I thought we were going to be picked in the morning, it’s already morning" Roman spoke.
"The tournament isn’t going to take place anymore, the Queen died in her sleep" Reina replied.
Roman’s heart dropped.
"What...?" he whispered, staring at Reina in shock. "The Queen... died?"
Reina didn’t speak. She just looked at him with a blank expression. Then he looked to the hallway, and students were standing around muttering.
Roman stepped back into his room, his head spinning. How could the Queen die, it was still unbelievable.
He ran a hand through his hair.
"Roman," a voice called. "Roman, wake up."
His eyes blinked fast.
"Roman!"
He gasped, sitting up quickly to see Ava by his bedside. He looked out the window; it was still a little dark outside.
"It’s already morning, how did you sleep so well when on other days you were usually the first one to wake up?" Ava spoke, and Roman let out a sigh of relief.
Everything he just saw was a dream. Roman stopped, and then he pinched himself to confirm this wasn’t a dream.
"What’s wrong, don’t you want to go for your morning run" Ava spoke as she walked towards the door while Roman stretched his body before finally standing up.
