Chapter 179 Gravity Rune
CHAPTER 179: CHAPTER 179 GRAVITY RUNE
Roman sat there for a while, his chest rising and falling, but the glow of the runes still burned in his mind.
He couldn’t stop now. If he left it, he might lose the feeling.
He grabbed the paper again and traced the shapes with his finger, Roman then closed his eyes and concentrated.
"It’s not impossible... I just need more control." Roman’s muttered to himself.
He stood up from the chair and pushed it aside, clearing the space in front of him. With one deep breath, he raised his right hand again.
He pushed Mana out, faint blue light wrapping around his palm. The first rune came alive quickly, brighter than before.
Roman smirked. "At least this part’s easy now."
The second rune followed, shaky at first, but steadied when he focused on his breathing. Both floated side by side, glowing symbols and shape carved in the air. His Mana drained faster, but he gritted his teeth.
Now came the third. Roman clenched his left fist and pushed harder, forcing more Mana out.
The shape began to appear, half a circle, then the lines forming slowly. His vision blurred and his knees bent slightly, but he kept pushing.
The glow of all three runes flickered. He was seconds away from breaking again, but Roman forced them to hold.
The third rune snapped into place for just a moment, three glowing marks hanging in front of him.
In front of him he could see a force slightly pushing the table down, it wasn’t like the founder’s but it was still gravity.
Roman’s eyes widened. "I did it..."
But before he could finish, all three shattered at once. The shockwave knocked him a step back to the ground, and he coughed hard.
Roman slumped on the bed as he was too tired to do anything, he had tried the rune one more time but it didn’t work and he almost passed out, now he was sleepy as his Mana was almost empty.
It didn’t take a minute before he passed out on the bed.
.
.
.
Roman rolled to the other side of the bed and a bright light hit his eyes, he quickly used his hands to cover the light as his eyes fluttered open.
It was already morning and Roman stretched his body as he faced away from the light and sat up.
He took a deep breath before standing up and walking towards the bathroom but before he could get in he heard a knock on the door.
"Come in" Roman stood there to look at the door as one of the maids came in.
"Breakfast is ready, should I bring yours now?" She asked.
"Yes" Roman replied as the maid stepped out, Roman went into the bathroom to get ready for the day.
He washed his teeth, cleaned his face but didn’t take his bath just yet, he first wanted to eat as he already heard the door opening and the food being dropped on the table.
He had placed the paper containing the rune in his pocket last night so no one would see.
Roman stepped out of the bathroom and without wasting a time he went straight for the food.
He sat down and opened the trays. The smell of warm bread and meat filled the room and his stomach growled. He didn’t wait for it to cool, he just grabbed the bread and bit into it.
The food wasn’t anything special, but to him it felt like the best thing he had eaten in a while but it wasn’t, maybe because he was too tired from yesterday.
He ate quietly, his mind still on the rune. Even as he chewed, his hand went to his pocket to feel the paper, making sure it was still there.
After finishing most of the food, he pushed the tray aside and leaned back on the chair. His body felt a little better after eating, but he still wasn’t at full strength.
The rune magic yesterday really did a number on him, there was no way he could use this in an actual battle unless he increases his Mana capacity.
Roman stood up and went back into the bathroom, this time to take a proper bath. The cold water hit his skin and he let out a soft breath, trying to clear his head.
Today, he was still going to try the rune but it would be after the fight.
Roman didn’t take long in the bath before stepping out and cleaning his body, then he went to the wardrobe to pick his clothes and then he heard a knock.
Before he could speak the door was pushed open and a knight was at the door.
"Time for the battle" The knight spoke.
"Huh!! Time for the battle, I just woke up some minutes ago, how long has it been?"
"It’s been hours, and the battle is starting soon, you need to be there" She spoke as she closed the door.
’I thought I woke up early, well there’s nothing to be afraid of, I might not even be the first’ Roman muttered as he finished dressing then he stepped out of the room.
The Royal knight was outside the door and before walking away once Roman was out of the room.
He knew the way but Roman still followed the knight, his footsteps slow at first but then picking up the pace.
They passed other knights and maids in the corridor, all the maids giving Roman quick glances but saying nothing.
He didn’t really care much about that now, his focus was on what was ahead.
Today was going to be the day, yesterday when he was thinking about his first fight he wasn’t nervous, but now he was.
Personally Roman would like to fight Aurelia and he was sure the Queen would make sure of that, but he could also be given Reina.
Finally, the knight stopped in front of the large wooden door and the maid opened the door.
Roman could already hear voices on the other side as the girls were already there, soon they began walking to the arena.
