CHAPTER 158: - WARMTH FILLED ATMOSPHERE-

At Kat’s question, Max stopped staring inside the cup and tilted his head towards her not expecting that she would be so direct or care about being embarrassed at this point.

Seeming like she poked a hornest, Kats seemed to realise something and froze, only to breathe again and stared right back into Max’s eyes.

Silence...

Silence became embedded between them for a moment before Max took his eyes away and took a sip from the cup, not saying anything.

"Have I ever done anything wrong to you?

Like honestly I don’t even understand you or what you’ve done to me... You blackmailed me into letting you fuck me and then behave like I was nothing, even after sucking my boobs like a starved beast."

Speaking softly and low enough that anyone not close by would think they were recounting good memories, Kats voice withheld so much frustration and confusion. Not being able to discern what it was that made Max disregard her after such a good sex.

’Sure enough, the secret to capturing a woman is to act more complicated than they are. And also, silence is power.’

After smirking inwardly at the thoughts of his silence granted seduction ability had done so far, Max tilted his neck and faced Kats once more.

"You bullied a guy into getting his nose broken because he refused to give you face... He was my classmate."

Stating an obvious lie, Max’s face took in interest and Kats seemed speechless after twitching her eyes in confusion for a moment.

Silence...

The look in Kats eyes went through several varying changes before she spoke up...

"Oh, I didn’t know... But then again you don’t have friends to begin with. Saying you blackmailed me because of that is outrageous."

At this moment Kats anger outweighed her curiosity towards Max. Without another word she stood up to leave. Whilst, Max seeing this was inwardly speechless, barely maintaining his cold distant personal as he stared at her ass.

’That was unexpected.’

Turning to the ocean, Max resumed to watch the distant view with little thoughts toward what just happened.

Divided into separate groups, the gentle giggles and excited laughters could be heard from time to time until the sun was starting to set.

...

"Here, hold this."

"What a big catch there?"

As the bonfire burned brightly under the dark sky, illuminating the area, the rest of the ladies, including Olivia and co included came to see the big Bluefin tuna Kats father caught.

Having remembered that the man’s name was Brooks over the recent hours the males spent fishing, Max silently withdrew the finishing line he had casted into the water.

Daniel, Blake, Noah and the thirteen years old boy who was Kats younger brother were all doing the same thing. Withdrawing their fishing lines.

Everyone’s attention was all drawn to the 0.5 meter size Bluefin tuna struggling to escape.

"Emptied the cooler... perhaps you guys should care to move away."

Just then, apparently having stood there for a second or two, blocked. Sebastian urged the ladies to move away as he motioned for Max to come over alongside Noah.

While the ladies parted to give them space, Max and Noah held the cooler for the tuna to be placed inside.

"Careful, careful there."

Seeing the fish struggle even more fiercely to slither from Brook’s what appeared to be a choking arm grip, everyone held their breath.

"Got you."

"We are going to have a feast."

"It’s my first time seeing such a big fish being caught live."

"Such an unlucky fish."

Just as both available fathers hurled the cooler towards the bonfire, Ava pinched Olivia and hurriedly ran after them.

At this sight, Max withheld the urge to shake his head and walked behind them.

A few minutes later, the ladies got to work on what to prepare with the fish.

Either by curiosity or desire to learn, the daughters also joined in.

Just as Max sat close to the bonfire, about to bring out his phone...

"So I guess there’s nothing left to do huh?" Daniel, Blake, Noah, and... Boris seemed to be in discussion.

Coming next to the bonfire, they all casually sat down next to Max who raised his head to glance at them, and then after a noticeable nod of acknowledgement returned to face his screen.

The barbeque stand was placed five metres away since it ran on gas.

"This is pretty cool."

"I know right? My first time actually spending my night at a beach."

"For real."

"Same here."

"What about you?"

Causing a momentary silence to fall in place, Boris casually nodded at Max.

’huh?’

In order not to show that he heard them loud and clear despite having his attention to his phone. Max raised his brows with a lost, then realized look.

"Oh, my first."

Following that, Max found himself inserted into their discussion from time to time- till the girls showed up to join, spiking the atmosphere into a warm fervour.

By the time the tuna had been grilled enough to make a tasty dish, Max got to learn a lot of things about his other cousins and the school they attended,well- except for Evelyn and Daisy who barely spoke much.

...

"Hmmm... It’s so nice."

"I know my mom mostly prepared this is, so I’m going to give her the compliment. You’re such a great cook mom."

Causing the other Aunts to roll their eyes, Noah flexed his skill to compliment women by showering his mom with most praises.

To this, no one appeared challenged or upset since it was mostly true.

A Russian family and a British family eating together.

After several complicated glances from Kats, by the time that mostly bone remained of the fish, Max got to know the aspects of the Riders business empire each of his Aunts managed, including his father.

As the night got dimmer, additional individual tents were set up.

With assurance that were being protected, everyone chose a tent to sleep. However, an hour later Max got a visitor.
