He Teng furrowed his brows, glanced at Chen Yun, and said, “Have you investigated Ding Long yet? When Gu En was in prison, Ding Long visited her and even helped her with some matters. If Gu En had outside support, Ding Long is the first person to suspect.”

“We’ve investigated him. But during the time Gu En was hospitalized, Ding Long never went to her hospital. Plus, coincidentally, Ding Long was on a business trip in another province during those days—he wasn’t in the capital at all.” Chen Yun explained, “When Gu En was hospitalized, there were always police officers with her wherever she went— even when she used the hospital’s public restroom, the hospital nurses were asked to keep an eye on her.
