Capítulo 1502: Chapter 1502: Simply Because I Love You 25
Lan Li! Lan Li!
This name is the poison that merges into her blood, incurable.
Why did she have to fall in love with such a heartless man? Why, after falling in love, can she never let go?
Is everyone like her, always holding onto things they should let go of?
No one will answer all her perplexities; the room is as silent as if lifeless, separated by a wall, the outside world, no matter how noisy, has nothing to do with her.
She seems lost in a misty space, beneath her feet is a bottomless black hole, before her eyes, there is no starlight to guide her forward. She can only stand there alone, enjoy the feast of solitude, eternally stand there waiting for someone who can pull her out of this never-ending feast and take her away.
At noon, Ding Long is busy at the company. When lunchtime comes, the secretary comes in to inquire about lunch plans, and Ding Long subconsciously picks up his cell phone to check, hesitates for a moment, and finally calls the Ding Family to ask if Ding Jinshi has already had lunch.
However, after making several calls, no one answers. Ding Long puts the phone away, his fingers lightly tapping on the table, seemingly thinking about something.
A few seconds later, he stands up, “I’m going home for a bit. If I don’t make it back in time for the afternoon matters, call me, and I’ll arrange it.”
After speaking, he picks up the coat draped on the chair, puts it on, and hurriedly leaves the company, drives the car, and rushes back to the Ding Family.
He is a bit worried about Ding Jinshi, fearing she might be sick and hence not answering the phone.
At this moment, roads in the capital are somewhat congested, with many people riding bicycles home from work. Even taking small paths, he would still be blocked. Ding Long, nearly out of patience, rushes back to the Ding Family without any delay. As soon as he enters the door, he shouts, “Jinshi?”
He looks around the first floor, sees no one, then heads upstairs, opens the bedroom door, but the room is empty, even the quilt remains folded in the shape he arranged yesterday, like a square piece of tofu placed in the corner. Evidently, Ding Jinshi has not been in the room for half a day, at least not on the bed.
Ding Long then goes to the study, searches through every room on the second floor, and also checks the balcony and the small garden, but still sees no sign of Ding Jinshi.
Ding Long begins to panic a bit; he dials Ding Jinshi’s cell phone while running to the room, opens the closet, sees all of Ding Jinshi’s belongings still neatly inside, and breathes a sigh of relief. However, as expected, Ding Jinshi does not answer the phone as she claimed.
Coming downstairs, Ding Long sits on the sofa, feeling somewhat powerless. Ding Jinshi doesn’t answer his call, and she’s not home; he seems unable to find her.
He doesn’t know if she is out shopping or with someone.
Thinking it’s the weekend, Ding Long calls Zhou Chenyue, and upon answering, he tentatively asks, “Is your sister Jinshi with you?”
Zhou Chenyue hesitates for a moment on the phone and replies, “No, isn’t Sister Jinshi with your family? She said she was going to her in-laws for the weekend, so she didn’t arrange anything with me. What’s wrong? Isn’t Sister Jinshi with you?”
“Nothing, maybe she went shopping with colleagues.” Ding Long replies.
“Which colleagues? Sister Jinshi’s colleagues aren’t close enough to go shopping with her, and Sister Chen Shan isn’t in the capital recently either.” Zhou Chenyue asks, “Did you two have a fight? Ding Long, I’m telling you, if you don’t treat my sister well, my brother and I won’t spare you! My sister’s already having a hard time; if you don’t treat her well, I’ll block the entrance of your company every day!”
