Chapter 29: Utaha – Lap Pillow? I Can Do That Too!

In the “Lynn’s Family Harem Chat Group”:

Sigma Man: [Image] [Image] [Image].

Lynn tapped his phone to capture the scenery outside the school bus window. What the images showed were bleak streets, overturned and scattered vehicles, blood splattered across every corner, and grotesque, snarling undead lunging toward the sound of the bus.

Kasumi Shizuko: ?

In the main world.

Kasumigaoka Utaha opened the series of images, which looked like stills from a low-budget zombie apocalypse movie.

“A new zombie film?” she murmured, a frown forming between her brows.

She couldn’t help overthinking it. Could it be that Lynn was inviting her to the cinema? But before she could entertain the thought further, she shook her head. No, she was clearly reading too much into it.

Sigma Man: In another world now. Just picked up two new Familiars.

Kasumi Shizuko: !

Utaha instinctively ignored the first part of his message. Her attention had been seized entirely by that last image.

A formidable rival. That woman—she was clearly a formidable rival!

Clutching her phone tightly, Utaha stared at the image, eyes fixed on Lynn’s relaxed expression… and the pair of soft, plump thighs his head was resting on. Voluptuous. Threatening.

He had only been gone for a single afternoon. Just one afternoon—and somehow, he had ended up in a completely different world and recruited two more girls into his “family.”

And now, even though it was their very first day as Familiars, one of them had already made it all the way into that role?

Kasumi Shizuko: So this is why you didn’t come home last night?

Utaha bit down on her lip. So, he hadn’t returned because he planned to spend the night with her

?

The thought left a dull ache in her chest.

From the moment she had become Lynn’s Familiar, she had been prepared for this possibility—prepared to follow him, support him, and eventually… share him. She had known the rules of the game.

He had said it himself: he was destined to have a harem. Even the name of the group chat left nothing to interpretation.

And she had always believed a man like Lynn was bound to be admired by women. She wasn’t immune—wasn’t she already drawn in, just days after meeting him?

But still—

She was the first! At least… the first to…

Determined, Utaha bit her lip harder. Then she raised her phone, aimed it down at her own thighs—wrapped neatly in black stockings—and snapped a photo.

Kasumi Shizuko: Do you like it?

Sigma Man: 👍 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/svg/1f44d.svg]

Kasumi Shizuko: You can come back tonight and use them however you want~

A knee pillow? That was nothing. She could do that too!

“Phew~”

At the Yotsuya residence, Miko held her phone up and peeked over her screen, eyes wide.

“Kasumigaoka-senpai… you’re so bold!” she whispered.

Ding!

Another notification popped up from the group chat. Miko’s curiosity flared, and she quickly checked the new message.

Sigma Man: Too bad—I need to establish a temporary Familiar base in this world tonight, so it’ll be easier for you to level up once you get here.

“No way… As expected of Lord Lynn!” Miko’s eyes sparkled with admiration. “He actually resisted a temptation like that!”

Unmoved by beauty, unfazed by seduction—Lynn-sama was clearly destined for greatness!

Meanwhile, on the other end of the chat…

Kasumigaoka Utaha stared at her phone, her expression vacant.

Rejected? He actually rejected her? A tightness crept into her chest. Was it because… she was no longer attractive?

No. No, that couldn’t be it.

“Lynn is doing it for the clan’s development,” she whispered to herself, eyes firming. “That’s definitely it.”

He was their master, and yet he was working tirelessly—crossing between worlds just to find a proper leveling area for his followers.

“That must be exhausting…” Her voice grew softer, contemplative. “So that’s why he needed to rest on that woman’s lap.”

By now, all the other details about that world had been pushed to the back of her mind. The only thing that lingered was the image of him lying there—peacefully, intimately—with someone else.

In the world of the dead.

Lynn set his phone down and closed his eyes, enjoying Saeko Busujima’s skilled massage without a care in the world.

Part of the reason he’d messaged the chat group was to confirm whether his connection to Utaha and the others still worked across worlds. The other part was just to let her know not to expect him home tonight, so she wouldn’t worry.

As for the black stockings?

She was his. The legs came with the package. He could play with them whenever he wanted.

Suddenly, the bus jolted to a halt, rocking everyone inside.

Still resting on Saeko’s lap, Lynn found himself treated to a glorious view—a visual feast of bouncing softness in motion.

“What—what’s happening?” Takagi Saya cried out, panic in her voice.

Shizuka Marikawa, looking confused, leaned forward. “The road ahead seems to be blocked.”

Everyone in the bus turned toward the front.

Sure enough, the street was packed—absolutely gridlocked with abandoned vehicles, as if the undead outbreak had hit right in the middle of a massive traffic jam.

No way forward. The bus was stuck.

Saeko narrowed her eyes. “Looks like we’ll have to go the rest of the way on foot.”

Her Slash skill might let her cut through obstacles, but they still physically blocked the path. Shizuka’s Healing Demon skill didn’t help in this kind of situation either.

In theory, with their current strength as lower-tier demons, they could move the cars manually… but it would waste too much time.

The others began preparing to disembark—but Lynn raised a hand.

“No need. We’re charging straight through.”

“Eh?”

Rei Miyamoto and Saya Takagi, who had just left their seats, froze in place.

Charge through? Through that?

They looked at the endless sea of cars ahead in utter bewilderment. Saeko didn’t hesitate. If her master said to charge, then they would charge.

“Yah-hooo~!”

Shizuka didn’t seem worried either. In fact, she sounded thrilled.

“Bumper cars, here we go!”

She floored the accelerator, and the engine roared like a beast awakening from slumber.

“W-Wait—!”

Rei tried to call out, but it was too late. The bus lurched forward, launching into the wreckage at full speed.

Madness! This was actual madness!

Both Rei and Saya screamed and threw their arms up to shield their faces.

Snap.

Lynn casually snapped his fingers. A black magic circle flared to life around the bus, encasing it in a dark, dome-like shield.

BOOM!

The bus slammed into the first abandoned car in its path with a thunderous crash. But thanks to the protective barrier, not a single shock was felt inside. The vehicle didn’t even shake.

A moment later, Rei cautiously opened one eye. Then the other. What she saw was utter chaos—the bus was plowing through vehicles like a bulldozer from hell.

“This…” she muttered, stunned.

She blinked. Then sighed, eyes filled with awe. “Supernatural powers really don’t follow any logic at all…”

After that brief interlude, the bus continued on its way, clearing a path through the jam without resistance.

By the time night began to fall, they finally arrived at Nan Rika’s residence.

Lynn stepped out and gave the place a once-over. It was spacious enough, clean, and decently fortified.

“Not bad,” he said with a satisfied nod. “Should be good enough to house our clan for a while.”

After scanning the building with a quick pulse of magic and confirming there were no undead within, he turned to the group.

“Shizuka, take the others inside and start getting organized. Saeko, you’re with me—we’ll handle the undead gathering nearby.”

Both women responded in perfect sync. “Yes, Master!”
