As the notifications appeared before his eyes, Lin Mo breathed a sigh of relief, then quickly checked on the condition of the two people in front of him.
Bern also hurried over, dragging his battered body. Fortunately, thanks to Miriam's blocking, that sword strike hadn't landed on Evan's head.
As for Miriam... since her White Oak Bow had somewhat dissipated the force, the sword had ultimately lodged in her collarbone without going any deeper.
The injury was serious but not fatal.
"Miriam!"
Evan snapped back to reality and exclaimed in alarm, quickly supporting Miriam's body as he asked nervously, "Are you okay, Miriam?"
"Won't die..."
Miriam frowned tightly, her beautiful face slightly contorted from the intense pain. She raised her head, glanced at Evan before her, her eyes sweeping over several of his wounds, then quickly looked away.
"Sit still, I'll treat your wound."
Bern half-knelt down, carefully pulled out the sword, and began disinfecting Miriam's wound.
After simple cleaning, applying medicine, and finally bandaging with gauze—this was basically how all injuries were handled for low-level adventurers, no matter how severe.
"If only we had healing potions. An injury like this would only need one bottle... no, about half a bottle to fully recover."
Evan's words made Lin Mo thoughtful. Miriam's injury definitely couldn't be considered minor—were healing potions really that miraculous?
Miriam however rolled her eyes at him: "Using over seven gold coins for one injury? So extravagant—do you think you're a professional adventurer?"
Half a bottle of healing potion, 7 gold and 50 silver—this price was enough for low-level adventurers like them to buy a fine weapon, and with a bit more money, even a leather armor.
Alchemical potions were undoubtedly unaffordable luxuries for them.
Even if they acquired one, they would save it for critical moments to preserve their lives, not use it on injuries that were neither minor nor major.
It wasn't just Miriam who was injured; the other three also had wounds. The three or four cuts on Lin Mo's body that had broken skin were actually the lightest among them.
After helping each other treat their wounds and resting by the tree for a while, everyone gradually regained their strength and got up to clean up the battlefield.
There were six corpses in total, with four basically taken down by Lin Mo alone. One was dealt with by Miriam and Evan, and the final captain was considered a collective effort.
Bern laid out the loot scavenged from the captain's body on the ground: 15 gold coins total, a fairly decent quality iron armor that looked like it had seen some years of use, worth about 20 gold coins.
Additionally, there were some scattered silver and copper coins, and a heavy two-handed sword.
The weapons and iron armor were confirmed to be mass-produced goods from blacksmith shops, nothing special about them, so they could be used without worry about being recognized.
"These gold coins and the two-handed sword go to you. We'll take this iron armor. How about that?"
Bern knew very well that if not for Lin Mo, this Bloodsea Gang squad would have been opponents they couldn't handle. Forget this time—during the previous ambush, they would have all been finished right there.
He saw terrifying potential in Lin Mo and didn't doubt at all that he would become a professional adventurer in the future.
The benefits of befriending such a powerful young man would far exceed the immediate gains, so Bern wasn't greedy about loot distribution.
As for the other five people, they naturally followed the previously agreed rule: whoever killed them got their loot.
Lin Mo thought for a moment. The quality of this iron armor was actually quite good, but it was somewhat heavy for him, including that two-handed sword.
Lin Mo's current combat style still relied heavily on speed advantages. Light leather armor and a one-handed sword better suited his needs, so even if he took these two items, he would just sell them—both troublesome and at a loss.
The two-handed sword was only worth about 3 gold coins. After some thought, Lin Mo said straightforwardly, "This sword is useless to me. You take it too—Evan can make good use of it."
"Alright, thank you."
Bern didn't refuse, nodded, and chose to accept it.
The iron armor from the Bloodsea Gang captain was slightly better than his own. Bern changed into this set of armor and gave his original one to Evan.
Evan put on the iron armor, took the captain's two-handed sword, and immediately grinned from ear to ear.
"Brother, you're generous! If you need anything in the future, just say the word. Whatever I can help with, I'll give it my all!"
He patted Lin Mo's shoulder but pulled his wound from the exaggerated motion, grimacing in pain.
"Look at you, getting carried away as soon as you're pleased with yourself..."
Miriam's teasing remark made everyone chuckle understandingly.
Lin Mo organized the loot from the four people he had killed.
This group must have gotten quite a bit of money after looting the merchant caravan—each person had at least 5 gold coins on them. Four people combined totaled 23 coins. Adding the 10 coins from yesterday's battle, he now had a full 33 gold coins on him!
Such a huge fortune—if doing normal missions, it would probably take over ten missions to earn this much.
Bern laid out the loot scavenged from the captain's body on the ground: 15 gold coins total, a fairly decent quality iron armor that looked like it had seen some years of use, worth about 20 gold coins.
Lin Mo and Bern exchanged glances, then simultaneously stood up with perfect coordination and walked toward several tents not far ahead.
They checked each one, searching inside as well, but unfortunately found nothing valuable.
When they reached the largest one, the captain's tent, Lin Mo pulled open the curtain and suddenly saw the girl in the corner.
Her hands and feet were tied, eyes blindfolded, a rag stuffed in her mouth, unable to move.
Though in disarray, her clothes looked quite exquisite, and her complexion was still somewhat rosy, indicating she usually lived well.
Bern followed in shortly after, looking at the girl with excitement.
Together they approached and removed the cloth from the girl's mouth and eyes.
Sensing someone approaching, the girl's body trembled immediately. After seeing their appearances, she paused for a good while before cautiously asking, "You are..."
She had heard the commotion earlier and knew the group that kidnapped her seemed to be under attack, but she hadn't dared hope too much.
The merchant caravan had hired two full teams, eight adventurers, including several experienced veteran adventurers, plus over ten servants from the caravan—about twenty people total—all killed to the last.
Even if her father sent people to rescue her, it would probably just be throwing lives away.
But now it seemed... the kidnappers had lost?
"We're adventurers who took on a mission. Is your father the owner of the Yori Merchant Guild?"
Watching the girl nod, Lin Mo and Bern almost simultaneously cheered and seamlessly high-fived in celebration.
Indeed, the Yori Merchant Guild had been robbed by these Bloodsea Gang members!
When they looked at the girl again, their eyes had completely changed.
This wasn't some youthful, beautiful young girl—this was clearly a walking 100 gold coins!
