CHAPTER 31: A SSS+ TALENT?

The bright sun rays passing through the old window panes of my bedroom failed to illuminate my dark reality.

My eyes were bloodshot~

It was supposed to be a pleasant good night’s sleep, so why did I end up staying awake all night?

The only thing I remembered eating was a handful of snacks at Claire’s party last evening.

Dinner?

The concept of such a delicacy was a foreign thing for me who was so lost redrawing like crazy.

Pang~

My head was spinning, my stomach was constantly growling, and I had long lost track of time.

It was a miracle I was still awake.

There were some missed calls on my phone, but I was too occupied to pay attention to them.

I let my mobile ring like I wasn’t there.

To stop myself from fainting from dehydration, I was repeatedly taking small sips of the large water bottle lying beside me, but now even that large 2-litre bottle was empty.

No, wait....since the sunlight has started dimming, maybe it’s evening now?

Wasn’t I supposed to go someplace important today?

Never mind~

"Damn it, why can’t I pull something overpowered?"

"My luck shouldn’t be that terrible?"

In desperation, I screamed out aloud hoping to vent out my pent-up anger.

Ooffff~

I racked my brain trying to think of a way to cheat this rigged redrawing system.

"It is said that if you make a sincere oath to your future wife, she will bless you!"

Since it’s a superstition, I will take my chance,

Inhaling a deep breath, I loudly shouted,

"I promise I will be very good to my future wife, I will definitely make her happy, I will surely let her enjoy the bliss of non-stop shopping and..."

There was a moment of hesitation on my face, but gritting my teeth, I decided to commit fully in,

"......Even though I will never be a simp, I shall never let her shed any pointless tears!"

Bang~

After making this speech, I violently punched the soft fabric of the bedsheet on which I was sitting cross-legged.

For my perfect start, I had to endure this,

Filling my lungs with another round of air, I forcefully exhaled a mouthful,

"REDRAW!"

Full 24 hours of constant singular action, this requires an utmost level of dedication.

Ding~

I heard a melodious ring in my head, the faint sound was similar to the time I pulled out some mythical card in an online deck game, my premonition was screaming that maybe this was the turn I was waiting for.....

The sound in my head was barely audible, but in this room filled with pin-drop silence it was enough to arouse my sixth sense to the fullest.

Even the system paused before making the notification.

This small pause was like waiting in eternity for a complete novice like me, but the result can’t be inevitably delayed after all,

[Ding! Congratulations Host you have won a special talent amongst humans- The Future Sight.]

[The Future Sight- This talent belongs to the native Earth where the host was born. It is said that in very ancient times there existed a class of very supernaturally gifted humans who because of a genetic mutation, awakened an ability to predict and simulate various futures.]

[Relying on this ability these humans cleverly avoided dangers and misfortunes, thus thriving into a prosperous little group, but they were later discovered by a powerful king, fearing that these group of strange humans can reveal his incompetence to the general public and thus, cause an uprising that could threaten his rule, the king mercilessly slaughtered all these special humans leaving no one alive.]

I attentively read every detail.

"That’s it?"

"System, is there no other info?"

The information was a bit vague but it was the first time the system gave such long paragraphs of explanation for something that I drew.

In all the previous draws, the rewards only had 1 or 2 lines of accompanying introductions.

[Back to the host, this special talent comes with some hidden features that can only be discovered after the host decides to inherit it.]

I readily got a reply.

This was a gamble, but, in the end, I decided to trust my Lady Luck and prevailing sixth sense.

"Tell me is this thing at least SSS+ level, right?"

The thought of getting scammed always irked me.

[Rest assured, everything in the drawing pool is of SSS+ rank. As for this ability, the system can’t determine its actual ceiling but given its potential, it should still be enough to be labelled among other SSS+ stuff.]

"Damn, so even the system doesn’t know how powerful this thing is?"

"Why do you have no idea, isn’t it sometimes inside your store?"

[The system is only responsible for arranging all these things.....In fact, It is not fully aware of the use of many miscellaneous things found in the system’s inventory.]

Hearing this reply, I was baffled.

I wanted to ask why it does not have the required information, but the next prompt ruthlessly shattered my fantasy.

[The system can’t disclose any more information.]

[If the host is not satisfied, he can keep drawing again!]

The words were cold and mechanical, devoid of the slightest human sympathy.

I just looked at the empty wall in front of me.

The previous round of inside introspection that I had after witnessing Luther’s death, had consequently sharpened my resolve and even widened my worldview.

We can’t grow if we are not ready to take risks.

"Life is all; but a compilation of choices we make."

"System, Confirm my selection!"

I was ready to gamble it all.

Boom~

As soon as I finished my sentence, I heard a loud bang inside my head.

A screeching pain engulfed both my brain and heart, it was like I was experiencing a doomsday.

Thereafter, an even violent shockwave passed from my head to toe.

"What the heck..."

Before I could complete my cursing my pupils dilated as I fell on my bed limply.
