CHAPTER 34: RUMOURS

Although Asuna’s text message aroused my curiosity, I didn’t dive into it much.

After arranging miscellaneous things at home, I finally set out for my first day of school.

"No, it would be better to call it the second day of school since I missed the first day busy redrawing.

The high school was only a 10-minute walk from my current rented house.

In no time, I arrived at my destination.

"It’s 7.40 a.m., the school gate closes at 8 am."

Glancing at my wrist watch I stood at the gate of a tall building.

I was still unsure how to deal with my school life- engage in a bustling social life or continue my journey as the loner who minds his own business.

The final year is when I can officially graduate in this new world - with new classmates, a new environment, and new teachers.

"Damn, because I missed the first day of school....so I should have missed the mandatory student introduction."

"I hope this doesn’t leave a bad impression on others and they treat me like some delinquent who doesn’t give a shit about school rules."

"At worst, I will say I caught a high fever and was even unable to get out of bed."

Having thought of a suitable excuse, the slight worry on my face disappeared as I gracefully stepped inside the school’s premises.

"Hey!"

"That’s him!"

"The arrogant new boy!"

Suddenly a loud voice interrupted me, the shout was definitely full of excitement, I don’t know which boy made the ruckus, but in no time a small group of boys gathered and started talking about me being their backs.

Huh?

What’s with the situation?

Soon their follow-up words started clearing things for me.

"Because of him, Rainaziel rejected everyone’s confession yesterday!"

"No wonder, after getting the grace of our school’s beauty, he swags so arrogantly!"

The small group’s words immediately alarmed me.

I instantly understood everything.

"So this is what Asuna meant when she said Parul used my name to shoo away all her annoying suitors."

"Actually, we can’t blame Parul, because we acted like a couple during Claire’s birthday party, so in Parul’s impression, Asuna and I should be properly dating."

I slowly mumbled in a slow voice before starting to walk towards my classroom situated on the second floor.

Along the way, I kept hearing small whispers like the whole school knew about my rumoured affair with Asuna.

Every step was full of small echoes- some full of jealousy while others full of mocking of my inferior status.

I want to yell, it was not a date, we are not a couple!

It definitely wasn’t romantic between us.

But I knew it was of no use, the more I tried to explain the more others would gossip.

Explaining myself was, without a doubt, adding fuel to the fire.

I once again calmly retold myself- Between me and Asuna, it was a pure transaction relationship.

But just as I had walked up a few stairs, I heard an even louder and domineering voice from the top of the stairs.

Huh?

As I looked up, I saw a muscular figure similar to my age standing with his hands crossed.

His sentence was full of inquiry,

"So you are the new guy our Rainaziel is dating?"

"You don’t look that special, if Parul hadn’t revealed it, no one would have realised that under their backs, the class belle already got a boyfriend!"

Seeing me so baffled, the tall muscular guy hurriedly introduced himself,

"I am Renji!

"The School President!"

"And also, you’re kinda spokesperson since everyone is asking me again and again whether you and Rainaziel are really a couple."

His voice was playful like he wanted to know the inside story.

Damn, her inquiry again, is Asuna really that famous here?

-I barely know her.

This cold-blooded killer bitch seems to have a big following of simps?

It seems I need to clarify a little or I will become a big public target of constant mocking and scolding.

I hastily interjected Renji,

"We are not!"

"We are not a couple!"

I almost choked on my own breath.

Hearing my words, Renji just lightly chuckled.

"Oh don’t lie, Parul confessed everything yesterday after making a solemn oath."

"Moreover, she mentioned that you and Rainaziel together attended Claire’s birthday party as a couple and even played proper couple games there."

"And the biggest evidence- Rainaziel didn’t even flinch or refute Parul’s claims, she instead kept readily nodding her head in agreement."

With his index finger pointed at me, Renji exclaimed full of excitement.

"You can think whatever you want, I have given my answer!"

"It’s up to you whether to believe or not!"

This was what I was talking about earlier, if a rumour flies so high, you can’t explain it so easily.

Ignoring him, I walked past him and headed straight to my classroom.

As I entered the class, the situation was exactly similar.

Gasps~

Everyone held their breath.

Whispers rose like waves.

"He’s here!"

"The Playboy is here!"

At my right side, the big-breasted Parul was sitting nonchalantly.

As soon as she saw me, she immediately trotted over to me and shook my head.

"Hehe, you never thought we would share the same class, right?"

Parul’s voice was soft, making the eyes of the rest of the boys who were attentively staring at me go red with jealousy.

"You don’t have to worry!"

"Since you were yesterday, I helped you do what should be done!"

Parul gave a wink.

"What should have been done by me?"

I was taken aback.

"Of course- declare your sovereignty on Rainaziel as her rightful boyfriend."

"Oh, I forgot you are a new student."

"With this declaration, our Rainaziel won’t be bothered by those countless annoying suitors."

"You don’t understand how irritating those flies are."

Parul spoke with utter disdain, hearing her harsh words all the boys stared us put their heads down in shame.

It seems the entire class is full of simps!
